Ren'Py - Abandoned - Love's Champion [v0.1.4.0 Public] [Grimaga]

Interesting characters and enjoyable gameplay in theory, but it's incredibly buggy and at times straight up broken. I had to restart entirely to get a character to appear correctly, and when I did I quickly got softlocked by erroring out when trying to interact with her. I thought maybe it was something I'd done, so I restarted and went through without using rollback a single time (I know that can mess stuff up in some games) but alas, this game is simply broken. Throughout all this, I was getting blank checkerboard screens where a transition is supposed to be, I guess? These issues have persisted through a couple versions now... I don't think the devs have anyone actually playing the game to give bug/error feedback.

Pros:
Characters are interesting and different

The first few stories feel rushed, and some of the images look a little off.
Dev. I want you to listen closely. Where are the tomboys? I need some motherfucking tomboys.

Sex scenes are just bad like not even seeing the pussy bad. The start is also pretty bad with the multiple timelines/alternate realities not well written. The models are pretty generic same HS models present in a lot of games. Overall it just didn’t keep me interested past the first 20 minutes and I usually love harem games.

Good game with a solid amount of content so far, looking forward to more updates.

Pretty simple story that goes a little bit too fast at the start to get the situation set up, but once it does get set up the pacing is honestly fine, it's simple and there's no grind per se as there are just story/character events which I really enjoy. I like the girls and they each have different personalities and kinks which makes things more interesting.

I do really appreciate the effort put in with the different outfits for the repeatable scenes and I'm a sucker for lewd sounds so that's always a big plus for me.

The couple of small nitpicks (and I mean these are really small) are to do with a few bugs (which I'm sure will be fixed) and with the clothes -- mostly that a lot of it is just default HS2 stuff. That's by no means anything that really needs to be fixed or a big issue, it's just with so many HS2/Ren'py games out there (And of course the option to just play/use HS2 yourself) you see a lot of familiar things with the default clothing.

See? Small.

Actually speaking of small -- another thing I appreciate is not every character has huge tits AND that those without huge tits aren't 'loli'.

All in all though, definitely worth your time if you like this style of game, haven't finished it yet but still looking forward to more updates.

The pacing for the beginning of the game feels rushed to me. My guess is that the devs just wanted to have some sex scenes in the first few release.

But once you get past that, everything is really good. Each character has a different kink and personality that keeps the scenes fresh, and the models are really good too.

Dident really find this one much fun, story is a bit boring even though it had some potential to be good and fun, like when MC tells a LI to cum just from the words was kinda fun, but thats about all the fun there was.

Game needs an update so you cant fuck a LI before you reach that point in their questline, like with Aria which is the first girl to move in with MC and right after she moves in, you can go visit her in her bedroom and fuck her, which makes the hole storyline for her feel weird since once you get to the part of having sex with her, you find out shes a virgin and she has a little bit of pain and such when you fuck her, which feels a bit off when you already fucked for 5 times in the bedroom....

I also found it a bit to fast and easy to get to fuck the LIs, first two you meet you dont really have to build any romance or relationship, it pretty much just goes stright to sex, so its tuff to ever really feel anything for the LIs.

Sex scenes are pretty bad even for this character style, there is plenty of them but they are to boring, and for some weird reason 90% of the time you dont know if MC is just fakeing it or fucking a LI since you cant see hes dick or her pussy when they fuck.
And for some weird reason MC always has pants on? dont really get it, in most scenes you see more of MCs backside then you see any of the action.

Sandbox part isent much fun, standard stat grinds, same girls stats, most will just use the cheat option which does make the game a little more playable.

Music is like the stuff you listen to when riding an elevator, the sound effects arent that bad.

Cant really rate this more then 2 since it is below averge in almost every aspect.

I have mixed feelings about this game, it seems like a good game to me, although I feel that some heroines are wasted Also because everything happens very quickly, s , instead an interesting heroine, even if this brings a background or is in accordance with their personality, I feel that the story can improve in the future and I think it deserves a chance, I had quite a bit of fun.

I tried this game in its beginnings and it didn't catch my attention... More than anything because it was sandbox xD. But currently it has progressed quite well, I have played its last 3 updates and although this full of +18 scenes has its individual story with each girl and that pleases me.

There's not a lot of sandbox to this sandbox game, but I genuinely really love the writing. It's going to vary from person to person, but the free use/dirty talk aspects are right up my alley and very rare in games with models I like as well. I hope this one continues right up to the finish line.

I wasn't sure at first, the start sort of rushes a bit pacing wise and the lack of map icons for where girls are though simple enough to find needs implementing....but once it gets going it's pretty good. A lot of hot scenes, the characters are all pretty unique in their personalities and kinks. Definitely look forward to more.

Amazing story and immersion with the characters, the different personalities and ways to interact with them is the cherry on top. The scenes are very interactive, fleshed out, and incredibly produced. You always have something to do at any point in the story, and these interactions are always fun and/or useful!

No clue why this game is rated so low. Quality is amazing for a new game, characters are funny and relatable, and character design is really quite good.

Pros: Many good scenes, funny dialogue, love how characters interact with each other.

Cons: Updates are kinda slow, the open world map feels a little empty but I'm guessing that's because it's a new game.

The game outright lies to you from the beginning. It literally asks you what kind of shit you're into right outta the gate, but if you say that you like "dirty and submissive", you get straight out paired with a supposed sub that dictates the pace of everything and does whatever the hell she wants. She even takes your girl and fucks the living hell out of when the MC, the supposed enjoyer of submissive girls couldn't stop coddling her. That same supposed sub ends up corrupting the innocent and pure girl and the innocent girl outright spits cum on her and calls her a slut. Now, you see, that's the kind of shit I was expecting the MC to do to the supposed sub.

Aside from that horrible start of a game, the plot is just completely non-existent and the game makes it clear that this is just pure wish fulfilment, which would be fine if it actually did that, but it doesn't, as explained by the game's horrible start. After that little cum spit incident, the MC finally starts to act like he actually wanted a sub girl, but it's already too late, it's completely unbelievable that this is the same guy.

Even if he actually takes up on the role, outside of sex, he still gets pushed around by Lia and you barely get any choices. The only choices you get are related to how much of a simp you are. They're all related to praising or charming the girls. There's even a scene where the girls go shopping and you're asked if you want to pay, but if you don't, the MC pays for it anyway, lol. This is basically one of those games where the MC is completely unremarkable and only gets lucky.

Everything I mentioned happened in the prologue, as you can probably guess, this didn't exactly spark my interest so I had to drop it. The sandbox part of the game also seemed incredibly boring.

I must say that it was an incredibly enjoyable experience. The graphics weren't stunning, but the gameplay was smooth and intuitive, and the characters were incredibly detailed and realistic.
All my wet fantasies were embodied in dialogues (no matter how bad it sounds)
The sex scenes were incredibly hot and steamy, with plenty of variety to keep things interesting.
Overall, this is an amazing game that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a story a little deeper than "hello, let's fuck" or not trite fantasy

Story isn't the most original or compelling but honestly sometimes I prefer a game that's direct, and the models + scenes are great enough to carry it for me, especially with some nice kinks. Breeding marathon, sign me up lol. One thing is grinding for stats though, that's something I'm not always a fan of and it's no different here. Good thing there's ways around that...

I'd support it on Patreon but I can't really give the bottom tier on top of the other games I support :/ If there was an option for $1 maybe

I didn't play very far but i think I played enough to make a review.

The story is bland, I've probably played dozens of games/VNs that uses the same story template as this game/VN, nothing unique or even remotely interesting about this.

The girls. Same with the girls, they're all the typical cliche type of chicks you tend to find in romance VNs.

The MC. Bland and boring. just your typical romance protagonist whos too busy spouting idealistic and naive nonsense.

This review may not be very clear, sorry about that but i didnt want to waste too much time writing a more elaborate review.

If it breaks any of the reviewing rules, so be it.

Charm is easy to get by going to the gym
No real grind just have sex with the girls few times to unlock new poses
You can buy clothes for the girls and make them wear it and they keep wearing in there room

I really love the game and hope they keep updating, it has a lot of bugs but is not unplayable, and if you see past that is a really good game whit a lot of potential (sorry if there is any gramatic error, english is not my first lenguage)

Has potential but:

I have nothing against a "fuck fest"/"all you can fuck" VN!
Story is on the flat side, but ok it can work.
What does not work is the sandbox and the stat grind, my recommendation to the dev would be to kick both and make it a kinetic VN or work in choices.

Why i think the:
- Sandbox does not work is that there are annoying "time gates" talk to her later and play character X first.
Clicking through multiple points to interact with a character to get (home, work, college) to get events that feel like jumping on the timeline.

- Stats do not work is that you can grind 4 stats directly and die 4 bound to every girl you have to make a "choice" that then gives you X points in X stats.
Just to then get to a point of "you need X points in stat Y to do Z" how do i grind them if they are the girl specific stats?

These are my 2cents, regardless of the choice the dev takes good luck.
