Ren'Py - Abandoned - Lucid Dream Remake 2 [v0.6A] [Hendrex]

This game is different. The MC is really passive and oblivious and gets manipulated by his mother. And you never know what's real and what's just a dream. This gives the VN a creepy atmosphere. If that's not your style then you will not like this. I do.

Progress is slow though, I mean update wise.

I loved the game before this ''new'' remake came out and now he changed the game to sandbox, WHY... it makes the game so much boring, clicking, progress story, clicking, etc etc, why do you still call that a VISUAL NOVEL.

"played" version 0.4a . "played" mean read/click/read/click/read/click/ etc.
awful story, by code its kinetic novell w/o that tag, zero branches etc.
to be honest- CG not so bad... better view CG rip than play this "game"- waste not so much time...

The renders are good but generic, they also give it a file size larger than it's quality warrants.

The video effects are sometimes noteworthy, give it that positive.

It's almost a linear visual novel but it gives you only enough choice to basically screw yourself out of seeing everything unless you rewind at every damn choice or play again and it is NOT worth playing again.

Basically it would be superior if it just let you pick every choice in one play through and accepted it was pure VN.

If it accepted that and let you see everything in one play through I'd probably give it a 3, maybe a 4 if the video parts kept kicking ass.
As it stands though, it's a 2. It's just a VN you won't see everything in or a subpar game, depending on how you look at it.

renders look good but its a kinetic novel with no choices, dialogue written like a 5th grader that went through puberty early, and Im pretty sure the author has no fucking clue what lucid dreaming really is because it aint what is in the game.

Story incoherent, writing god awful. The English is robotic and lifeless, broken in some parts and not making much sense. The main MC acts like he is mentally disabled. The sister acts like a witch for no known reason at the beginning and then wonders at the breakfast table why MC never asks about her more. O and he talks to his friend in class but seems to have no clue about his life, like he is a stranger. The friend is treated better than your own family treats you and out of no where your sister and mom randomly suggest he can come over anytime he wants. In the late stages of the current game build the writing seems to improve and it becomes a bit more well scripted, so maybe there is hope for the future and someone is starting to proof read it and check for logic.

Story overall so far low tier and I don't feel bad saying that. It is like some teen decided to speed type and throw out a script without even looking back over it besides the later game as stated. But as always, this is my review and my experience. At the time of my review the game was unfinished, I will update this review if I come back to play in the future and it warrants a upgrade of rating.

Images are great, girls are hot but the story is seriously lacking in substance. If you added more depth to the story, maybe some banter not just one sentence responses to everything, this game would have a lot more potential.

I found it interesting reading the other reviews that some people liked the writing in this game. There's a fair bit of broken English, which I can forgive. The plot, however, seems very poorly constructed to me, and dialogues are the same. I added one to the default one star because I really like some of the renders/models, but the writing was so off-putting that I doubt I will try this game again.

I played the 0.2b version of the game and i like it. It has nice renders and the text/dialogues are well written (unlike many other games which have boring/tedious dialogues). The story seems interesting but it is too early to say if i like it or not.

As for the female characters: Astrid (mom) is mediocre as a milf. I have seen much better milf at other games. On the other hand Lissane (sis) is at top level (one of the hottest girl i have seen). Teacher is also looking good.

I hope the game to not be entirely linear and to allow players to choose between 2-3 different routes depending on which female character they like most.

I give 4 stars for the version 0.2b. It looks promising but it is too early to make any conclusions. There is no much content yet although the game goes back to 2017. I hope that it will be updating more often from now on.

EDIT 3/9/20: After Remake ver 0.2b which I made my first review the game is not developed as I hoped but I was patient and didn't change my rating. Unfortunately the dev is probably just joking. After Remake v0.4 decides to make a new Remake (Remake 2). So back to version 0.1 after 3 years! This game obviously not deserve more that 1 star...

The renders are OK. Well that's enough of the positives, here's the negatives. Awful grammar. Engrish all over the place. Even if the grammar was perfect the dialogue is still pretty dumb. No skipping so enjoy carpal tunnel. No real choices whatsoever, it's basically a visual novel. Practically no content. Dev abandoned his previous game so he'll probably abandon this one too. Can't say I imagine this game ever being good.

Awesome game. Interesting story. Good renders. All characters are damn good or great to look at! There is animation, not so good, but not so bad) And I like that this is not a typical incest protagonist " I want to fuck my mom" , but mom want to fuck the son )
I definitely recommend this game. This is a good game for incest lovers like me)

Above average renders but there are some instances where the 'animated' parts looks a little weird (like the background artifacts moving inexplicably), and some of the pool renders need work. Additionally the dialog needs some work: It's hard to follow while talking to the mom as the names don't always match up correctly with the person talking, and there isn't system to identify internal dialog (such as italics) despite there clearly being intended internal dialog in places.

The following review is based off my personal experience with playing this Game/Visual Novel... I try to be as brutally honest and detailed as I can, and these are my own opinions and thoughts, from one or more play throughs... The version this review is based on is v0.01A...

Ok, right out the gate this game starts off with the developer complaining about how his original game was always receiving bad reviews and comments, so he remade it... Then he/she states that the grammar is probably bad and orders the readers to not complain about it... Really? And of course this game goes with the overused Family Sex stuff...

The visuals of the characters are decent, although the proportions are a bit overboard on some characters... The mother has slightly large breasts, which are possible, but also large hips with a very skinny waist, which makes her look weird... Then the protagonist has the ever so cliché oversized penis, of course... The backdrops looks unique but basic...

The script is a mixed bag, with some spelling/grammar errors, a tiny bit of broken English, as well as the occasional gangster slang and an over use of profanity... It's like every character, especially the sister and protagonist, were born with a sailors mouth (including the protagonists inner monologue)... The plot (what little there really is) revolves around a male protagonist who lives at home with his mother and sister... I can't tell if he is a high school student or a college student... At first it appears as though he is having a wet dream about his mother, but when he wakes up his mother is sitting in a chair beside his bed... Which was weird, as that would suggest she had been in the room for a while, as he dreamt about being restrained and having sex forced onto him by his mother...

Then you meet his sister, who's personality is another overused mean and hateful one, specifically towards the protagonist... That personality gets so over used... Then we are off to a daydream sequence with the teacher who appears to be extremely dominating towards the protagonist... When the daydream ends, she dismisses the class because he told her to do so during the daydream, which was a bit weird and not explained away at all... Why would a teacher take orders from a student?

Eventually you get to a choice of who to go masturbate to, and if it's the mother and you select to finger her, she pretends to be sleeping and lets him do it... And she even makes a inner monologue comment that it was as good as the time during the wet dream... What? If it was a dream, how does she know? Was it really not a dream? This whole game (which plays out more like a visual novel) is so darn weird and confusing...

The whole story moves so quickly from one thing to another, and the story telling is so poorly crafted, that it's hard to know what in the world is really happening... Even during the video game sequence the protagonists inner monologue was all over the place, jumping from one thing to another... One second you think that this game is about dream sequences perhaps influencing the real world... Or perhaps they are not dreams but instead are manifestations of some bad crap that has happened to the protagonist and this is how he's coping... Or maybe the dreams give him the ability to influence characters... And the list goes on, as I just could not nail anything down... Just left me with nothing but questions... Like how was the protagonist able to hear what the sisters friend was saying to the sister during her phone call on the balcony? She had the phone up to her ear, so speaker phone wasn't on, and yet he heard the friend talking about the party and perhaps inviting the protagonist? What?

Overall, there are so many inconsistencies, plot holes, mixed messages, weird writing, and so forth... I just could not either figure stuff out, or enjoy the reading at all... Beyond all the mess, I sort of get a vibe this plans to be a porn fest anyways... This game tries to look and feel like a visual novel, but really needs some more work to be truly entertaining to read... The immersion is not there, and neither is the meaning or depth... I wish the developers the best of luck, but I also suggest removing the complaining in the beginning... You need to learn to take the bad with the good when it comes to comments and feedback, and not have such a chip on your shoulders... It's a part of the biz, so learn, grow, and keep on trucking... Will I revisit this game? I doubt it, but we'll have to wait and see if it improves...
