I have mixed feelings about this game. On one hand, it's a classic netorase story: your wife goes on a beach vacation with her best friend, and you, as the husband, text with her, the friend, and other characters.
What I liked:
Essentially, the story isn't outstanding, but the intrigue of "where this harsh mess is going" could have kept me interested until the end. However, the project is most likely dead. At the time of writing this review, the developer's last activity on Patreon was half a year ago. The chances of it coming back after such a long silence are very slim.
Final thoughts: This is average game with a phone mechanic. I'd only recommend trying it if you are a hardcore fan of this specific subgenre and don't expect a finished story. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else, precisely because it's unfinished and it's highly likely we'll never see the ending. If the project were still active, I might have given it a chance.
What I liked:
- Interface and visuals: The smartphone interface is very well-made, and the static images (AI-generated) are generally of good quality
- Technical side of video-content: The animation is very poorly done, it looks like a slideshow with blurry transitions. There are also sound problems: the background voice acting is minimal, and the sound in the videos is too quiet and generic.
- Story development and its tone: After Act 5, the events rush by too fast, and the tone of the story suddenly becomes much harsher and more cynical. You can't avoid this content.
- Lack of choice and variety: The player has almost no influence on the story. Choices don't matter, and there is no variety in the plot, which would be easier to implement in this format than in a regular visual novel. By the middle of the game, this becomes really annoying.
- Dragged-out mechanic: Not being able to skip the animation of characters typing their messages is a completely unnecessary and tedious mechanic that artificially stretches out the already short gameplay.
