I think you have to fight one until you get the prompt that fighting is no good and you should retreat, escape and then visit the fairy queen. I believe you have to talk to her multiple times in one visit and then trade a block of cheese for the secret.

No particularly strong opinions myself, I have no clue how much of that is custom art and how much is in the game already. There are a lot of scenes for each character variant so it is a rare occurrence for new ones to get added.
