Pretty much this - and the only warning anyone got about it was the admin making a saluting emoji on a discord most people don't use, which is beyond dickish and stupidly unprofessional. Not even mentioning how they are withholding payment from devs and refunds for the people who bought games that are now banned from the platform and thus unplayable if you bought them through itch.

The credit card companies are the obvious source of this issue. But itch is not exempt at all - both for capitulating to these literal thug tactics in the first place and for the way they went about implementing them.

And that's EXACTLY the problem, These payment processor companies are running wild for all these years without anyone keeps them in check. So their power is growing day by day. To the extend to be able to fully nuke itch and steam just in a few days.

Only LAW should have control over what people can or can not do, Not some for profit Corporations that solely exist to make money.
Note Itch Ban Reason is "meet the requirements of our payment processors", Not Legal compliance, meaning These payment processors can change the terms whenever and however they want.

Itch is a victim, Like Steam, and any platform that's infected. If I'm running a platform, I also don't want things that can cause me trouble. Especially from Payment Processor which is their bloodline of existence.
Could them have done better to stand up against it? Probably. But I wouldn't know, neither do you.
It's on you to think them as your friend that always hv your best interests on top priority. Spoilers: they don't.

Those Privileged Karen Groups that cause all these bans? They'll always lobby against whatever they don't like,
but they would be nothing if these Payment Processors Companies didn't enable them.

I'm relieved Hyao is not affected too much, since LD not his main source of income and Itch is not his main platform.
But this development has very large impact, suppress free expression and discourage creativity.
Luckily Japan starts to push back, wish we can see more government step in.

Consider all other options are "done half way" or less I think you might be doomed ;)

Tho IIRC Barrel is not done by Hyao himself but someone else? Maybe miracle can happen.
The fact LD is a "WIP" without any End Goal means getting anything "done" is a tall order.

It's one of the reason why I really wish that, he focus more on the sory, base on his characters, and less on getting guest characters

Deppending on how you want to approach combat, if you want to use consumables like bombs and potions then better have decent perception to gain more resourses when scounting for them, if you want to go with regular combat then better to have good strength and vitality for HP, if you want to seduce enemies then better invest into appearence, charisma and vitality for HP, so its more up to how you want to approach combat, but also there is some moments that requared checks and the bigger the number of that particular stat that it requared the more chance to succeed in them and vice versa

So it seem Itch re-listed all Free NSFW games, and actively trying to find another Payment Processor that won't try to control what people can or an not do.
Means they haven't throw all Creators under the bus yet, that's some silver lining(?).
Tho Itch is largely existed because of NSFW games, so guess that's what they have to do (Unlike Steam).

Keep in mind that without Guest Characters, we will just getting nothing in between. It's not like Hyao himself diverge his resources onto these contents.
Guest Content is not the reason why LD stagnates. But I get your sentiment.

It doesn't matter, you can easily increase them using in game cheats.
And there's no "optimal option", depending on how you want to play.
But I would dump all points into Intellect at start, It helps with gather and crafting, largely reduce the grind you need.
Also, If you ever want Lewd combat, Do NOT raise perception too high as it prevents you to be grabbed.
