I'd normally agree but it's a gay sex game (well mostly) so taking away a potential romance interest isn't gonna go down well and considering the failure of the story atm just a bad call in general

When you compile the story over the years it's litro Werewolves/Lizards/Scar the rest has been sides with little to no actual relevance to the story so no point "World Building" by this point

Yeah the game is a mess in more than one way.
I'm not sure where Hyao want this game to go: A cohesive porn game with rich contents (that'll be completed somneday), or just porn hub fest in game form.
Tho World building comes a long way. Like there are so much Rose contents even tho she's not even sex-able.
I will also be disappointed if Hyao takes Groth away - not surprised, giving how Groth conducts himself so far.
They really need to tread this carefully.

Maybe this game shouldn't really be taken seriously, just a Kink fest however the dev feels like. But Hyao really gives me the "diligent dev" vibe who's genuinely trying to make a good game.

Like the Virgin to Logan route. Logan was a Jealous straight who had a wife. Wants monogamy is one thing, but "Virgin"? Almost like those with virgin fetish and only fuck virgins, It's humiliating on the receiving end.
And if the "Only ever expressed interest in Female" Groth fucks a male MC, it really feels like "Pity Sex".
Maybe all of these are for those who's into humiliation ?
Yeah, Gunnar's death is totally pointless, nothing've come out of it till this point. You don't just kill beloved character for no reason unless that's the theme of the game.

Lol I dunno how did you come to the conclusion that remaining virgin for one character till you get with him is humiliation, the whole point of that "route", tho I wouldnt even call it a route since you dont get anything unique in terms of interactions, its just an alternative version of same interactions that you get when you sleep with everything, the whole point of it is loyalty to him, and in return you getting just different flavor text, istead of him tell that he know you sleep around cuz he smell them, he just tell you that he doesnt and he appritiate it and wants you more because of that, thats it, its just a different flavor of the same actions, like having variation for submissive bottoms/tops in some of the sex scenes that are in the game, you are not missing out on content itself by not doing it
PS: it called Virgin route not cuz Logan wants you to be virgin or notice it or something, he never even coment about it, it was just a name that was given by the community cuz you have to remain virgin before Trouble in the den quest moment

Since when being interested only in one character / person is considered as humiliation? What are odd standarts are these?
The whole point of the route is not Virginity itself, cuz after you have a sex scene with him you are not a virgin anymore, so its not main point of the route for some reason you realy put a big emphasis on it when its not main point, it a specific content that is specificaly for people who want to limit themself and they get something in return, if you dont want that then noone is forcing you to do it, it doesnt interfere with anything else that is available, just cuz you dont find it appealing for you cuz you have to limit yourself doesnt mean there arent people who like it more, it just one of the preferences, cuz technicaly everyone can say same points about content they dont like or find offencive, like if someone dont like Domination / Humiliation ( which include Gunnar, Maul, Sabal ) it doesnt mean that this content shouldnt exist, people just have a choice to not interact with it at all
And no he doesnt have specificaly unique interactions in that route, only altered text of same interaction you get in other route, literary Hyao confirmed it, it just different flavor text and nothing more special to it

It would be counterproductive to make Groth strictly straight, the game already showcases straight/gay/bi potions, plus Love Potions and Feminine Potions. On top of that, that ship has already sailed, we've camped and bonded with him, plus fight along side him, we've seen him naked, we've seen him peeing, even Nameless knows MC is attracted to him. It would be pointless.

I would understand if Hyao makes it harder for male characters to romance Groth. In fact he could even make it kink related. I know a lot of guys who love chasing straight dudes.

Besides, if his portrait appears in the relationship Menu, he should be either dateable or at least fuckable.

The problem is he never gave a "Fuckable" vibe to Male MC ever.
The "ship" does Not sail, That's what "Brotherhood" looks like, "Bond" doesn't equal to "Sex".
Due to how he's written so far, It'll be a mess either way if Hyao makes him sexable or gives him NPC sex scene at some point. (BTW, There are quite some NPCs in the relationship Menu you can't fuck)

"Straight Chasing" or "Corruption / Mind Control" are fun ideas, But LD doesn't promote this kind of kinks, they are somewhat against the atmosphere LD is building - Unless it's reserved for the long forgotten Corrupted Lizard Route.
....IMO "Straight Chasing" is a special Kink that only belongs to games where it's the main theme.

Hence why "All tease No deeds" is a much more approachable angle, cuz that doesn't rule out anything.
And when Groth Fall for you, is not due to your gender, but your personality. He's just not sex-craze like everyone else.

The "ship" does Not sail, That's what "Brotherhood" looks like, "Bond" doesn't equal to "Sex".

Again, you can spy him while he's peeing and you can watch him sleep naked. On top of that the squid knows you want to fuck Groth. He's also one of the many characters the squid fucks you as in his weird poly sex scene. Also you can see him wearing the ''special'' orc underwear and him adjusting his junk in front of you. Dude, come on, that's not brotherhood, that's teasing. Also, he has official naked art that could easily be reusable.

(BTW, There are quite some NPCs in the relationship Menu you can't fuck)

Currently there are more than 40 characters in the relationship log and you can fuck somehow 30 of them, the only characters you cannot fuck are either works in progress that you can fuck in the future or aren't developed yet. The only character that I don't think will ever be dateable is Rose, and who knows.

So, the Love Potions that you can give to several characters and fuck them without their consent aren't against the atmosphere? You can literally roofie Bernard, Korg, Grushk, plus throw Lust Potions at enemies to make them want to fuck you instead of fight you. Also, this is a game that literally has zoophilia and rape at plenty but you draw the line at straight chasing?

Hey, I'm all for letting Hyao cook at his own pace, it would be great if you can build something with a character at a slow pace. But again, this is a porn game, not Stardew Valley. Some people will appreciate the slow burn, some people will think it's a waste of time, kinda like Virgin Logan playthroughs.

Honestly I think there's plenty of orc content already in the game but hey, a lot of people liked Groth's friendly nature. And just like you said he isn't sex-crazy like everyone else which makes him kinda special. It would be a wasted opportunity not to monetize that.
And again, making a well-liked character exclusively straight in a game that focuses in bara male content and most of the players and the author himself are male as well, doesn't really add up. That could've done with Logan who has more reasons to be strictly straight.
