VN - Others - Magic Night [v0.1.3] [Minko]

For a VN, it's not bad. Olena Minko always have beautiful art, and the story's short but sweet. The text shows some of Minko's inexperience to English, but it's not incomprehensible. All in all, a nice short VN with Zatanna.

As other reviews have already pointed out, the art is the best part of this game. Exquisite I'd say. The only problem I have, besides how short it is (around 10 minutes), is that the script is extremely basic. Zatanna throws herself at you for no real reason other than "You're new here and you're different from the locals". It's either that or simply "Want a private show?". I mean, it's a porn game and most of us throw our disbelief out the window once we double click on it, but still, the feeling that you need to somehow "earn" your reward either by selecting a certain combination of lines or by doing something for her would take this experience to the next level. Simply having to approach her yourself would make the game feel more complex. When none of the dialogue options is wrong and the FI is already interested in you no matter what, it's not as enjoyable as it should be.

Having said that, the general quality is solid and while this feels more like a proof of concept, a longer, more complex game by the same dev/artist would definitely generate a big following fast.

I would give this 5 stars based on the artwork alone, however it's just a demo at the moment. It is also missing some major mechanics. No Full Screen, no Roll Back, no HIDE UI, no AUTO function. Animations are primitive but they do the job. If this were a later release I would definitely be more critical, but lets wait and see where the dev goes with this
