RPGM - Completed - Magical Girl Pureful Lily [v1.00] [BunnySlime]

I'm a sucker for corruption games. I'm also a sucker for Magical Girl games. So this one is right up my alley.

The good things about the game are that the protagonist's magical girl form is cute, there is a pretty solid path for corruption, there are enough scenes and some variety to keep you engaged, the combat isn't completely trivial.

The not-so great things are that the game is pretty short, there isn't a lot of variety in terms of enemy type, the maps are pretty short and straightforward, and combat really jumps up randomly on the second floor with no clear avenue for improving stats. Another thing that bothered me was that a lot of events have "Lewdness must be over X" to be completed but some of them just completely ignore this mechanic. There isn't really a reason why that is so. Felt inconsistent.

Not much to say about the story, they're usually irrelevant in H-Games and I question whoever decides to care about the story. All I want from the story it that they provide a good enough excuse for the sex to ensue. With corruption games, the story must also provide good enough reasons for the protagonist to be corrupted. The game has the classic "Evil organization looking to lewd up the world " going for it and our eponymous magical girl is going to stop it. Nothing more to it. Lots of tropes in there as well, like the lecherous teacher.

The gameplay is all right. I thought the difficulty curve ramped up a bit to much in the middle. This is also one of those games where money is actually rare so you can't just buy everything from the store and that ties in nicely with the prostitution segment of the game.

In any case, good enough to waste a couple of hours on.

Mixed feelings on this game. Its classic magical girl vs evil organization scenario that plays out pretty quickly (1hr 30min playtime) but is content dense. Although it has some great moments, other parts feel like cut corners. If the corners were not cut and the game was a tiny bit longer, easy 5/5. Still recommended since its short and you won't get bored.

I don't feel like laying stuff out paragraph format so here are my somewhat organized thoughts:
The good:
-Does not waste your time
-The ideas are simple (tentacle zone, evil organization, school zone, hypnosis zone) but done well and the art is pretty good quality.
-Battles are actually well balanced where you aren't just mashing standard attack but you won't lose if playing carefully.
-No random encounters,

The bad:
-Alot of reused cut-ins where unique CG should be present.
-Some CG like tentacle pit seem like they should have more frames but do not.
-Battlefuck present (groping and restraint) but limited.
-Gallery has every single tiny event, even the ones where you get groped once and nothing happens, but does not let you battle bosses again.
-Nonexistent story outside of "evil organization invaded the school".
-Preview images makes it seem like you can use multiple outfits but you just use the base magical girl suit and others are reserved for 1 or 2 scenes

k2ren's review captures my thoughts on this game well.

Short and snappy corruption game of a magical girl reaching the rooftop of her school to defeat the evil guy that's made everyone sex pests. Main fetishes are tentacle, hypnosis, awfully done blackmail and unconvincing corruption. Game is very short, you'll have to suspend your disbelief to be convinced that in a single day the pure virgin turns into a morale-less slut.

the RPGM combat is handled rather nicely, as unless you turbo grind you won't end up trivializing most fights as even mobs can take a few hits before going down. Being restrained is fairly punishing as breaking out takes resources you might not have - TP is very valuable in this game system, but seeing the restrain or sex acts in battle isn't too exciting as the game will game over you before it really gets out of hand. Some lategame enemies will tank the succeed rate on escaping which makes some fights very tedious.

Art is questionably nice, but cgs and cut-ins are used way too often. Unique cgs is probably in the 10-12 range while there is 30 something scenes. The va generic moans sound at least unique, very little repetition, but no lines are explicitly recorded. No real animation, just jiggling the jpgs around to mimic movement.

Didn't encounter bugs, UI and other such game QOL is fairly well done. A smooth game to play if you decide to bother. You can unlock all the scenes the second you step into the cg gallery, and you'd only miss out on the battlefuck which isn't too exciting. Still, beating the final boss only took me ~1 hr 45 mins, it's not a real timesink if you want to try the game.

hm everything about this game is mediocre... but it's doing every sex stuff, just feels off, so it's not bad in terms of sex game. but story and characters are dumb, although there are some scenes which are nice, most are meh because characters.

every floor has a theme, like bondage/hypnotism/tentacles etc. so it's not bad on paper. just execution i dont think is very good.


so altogether a mediocre game, but it's not that bad that i wouldn'T recommend. it'S alright if you are bored and want some sex rpgm to play and you don't know any better it's fine. i was considering giving it 4/5, it could be justified, but meh it's too forgettable and although art is not bad, and some scenes are erotic, somehow altogether it's not as erotic. and i was also bored at some points.

it has battlefuck mechanics, traps, blackmail, school-theme. so altogether it's "alright" but to me got boring after a while.

Short Review: A nice little game for 1–2 hours, very straightforward and fun to play.

Gameplay

You play as a magical girl targeted by a group of perverted criminals attacking your school — and spoiler: you enjoy sex too.


The game throws you right into the action with no long narration. You immediately know why you’re here. The gameplay is basic but well executed. Some fights can be a bit tough, but nothing overwhelming.

There are lots and lots of short NSFW scenes, though many of them repeat frequently, which can get a bit tiring.

Art & Visuals

The visuals are nice overall. The only drawback is that some frames are reused too often, which makes them lose impact over time.

Verdict

I have trouble deciding if this deserves 3 or 4 stars.
Okay-ish corruption game. It takes a while for the MC to start looking forward to sex, so that is a + for me. But there are not many scenes, no variety. I don't know. I think it's worth giving a try but in general it's pretty average or slightly above average without being bad.

Give this a 4 star rating is probably fair. its a reasonable game and better than the average but falls short to stand with the best.

the game play, the plot, corruption mechanics, etc are all just mediocre. nothing in this game really stands out as excellent but it doesnt have terrible mistakes either. so an above average score is warranted. the heroine just walks around fighting monsters and thats your game in a nutshell

I don't understand where the budget went - There's like, 8 H-scenes in total, the rest are just copy pasta, all 2D CG-s, no animations, you can ignore the actual game and just enter the gallery and unlock it straight away, the story is just, you have magical girl powers and you fight perverts, that's it.

Even if you watch all the gallery H-scenes, you won't have any fun.

First of all, thanks to Dazed for the translation. I played it in pure MTL first and it was understandable, but here you can see some editing in this version.

The truth is that it's a short but interesting game. As a lover of hypnosis, I especially loved the whole level dedicated to it.

Its audiovisuals are a plus, and the scenes in general are great. The problem is typically the simple gameplay, which isn't easy for everyone; you basically have to know how to play.

Honestly, if you're not much into RPGs, with a full save you can relax because the scenes are top-notch. Overall, it's pretty decent, although it's still far from the top, which is Magical Girl Celesphonia.

First of all, alot of other reviews mention that previous demos had a bad translation, but in this version the translations are complete (well mostly complete, since I did see couple stats or labels that were untranslated) and very good. So thank you translators

Now, my main 2 criteria for judging the are the gameplay and the art.

Let's start with the art, because that's what carrying this game. The art is amazing and has decent variety, but of course it does repeat the scenes in combat, and there aren't too many enemy varieties. But (for me personally) it's good enough that it didn't bother me much.

As for the gameplay... well let's just say that the game would be a 1★ if not for the art. It's a corruption game, and these games usually have 2 options available: 1) Corruption is linked to/tied behind plot progression or 2) Just exploring and doing more lewd things raises the corruption stat, opening up more lewd scenes.
This game takes the second route and executes it very poorly. You can just max out your corruption stat at the very start of the game making the "corruption" pointless.
So in the end it just turns into a scene collector, with the standard RPGM combat sprinkled around.

On top of that the story is very surface level too, so it doesn't add much either.

But with all that being said, I'd still say if you like what you see in the screenshots and you have some time to kill, give it a try. The art and MC design is good enough, just get a full save and enjoy.

Edit: Gallery can be unlocked from the get go, so don't even need to bother with a save. Also there are fewer scenes that it seemed, so it's closer to a 2.5★.

game is unplayable with this level of translation if someone is very interested in reading story like me i wouldnt recommend it however the art is pretty good if u just wanna see art and skip whole text then u can do it without much of a problems, everything is marked above head and fighting is simple enough

This isn't the worst corruption game, there are certainly others that are worse, but the game, unfortunately, does not offer anything that's really worthwhile.

It both lacks in player freedom and depth of corruption.
Some of the best corruption games tend to focus on one of these, either granting you a very in depth corruption system in a more linear shell (specific traits relating to events that occur) or give you a lot of freedom when it comes to the corruption, but have a simple system ("Lust" value increasing and unlocking new events).
This manages to take the downsides of both systems and combines them, leading to a shallow and relatively linear corruption.

The combat is your generic RPGMaker combat, so nothing special to mention here.

The art is fine. If you like the screenshots, you'll enjoy the art in the game.

Can't really talk about the story, since my Japanese is very limited, so I'll neither praise nor criticise it.

The game is certainly better than a lot of other corruption games, that are linear scene collectors, but when playing it I just wanted to play some of the better corruption games. Specifically the "Magical Girl Corruption" theme has quite a few better/more interesting games and even has a big title set to release later this year.

I do however hope that this release works out for the dev and they can manage to create more games, since there definitely is potential for a good game here, it'll have to offer more than just nice art tho.

I have tried the Demo version 1.01, basically it ends after defeating the boss of level F1 and entering F2.

Honestly considering it's a demo it has quite interesting content and honestly promises, if you like a little bit the theme of corruption and defeat rape.

The only downside (apart from having little content) is the translation of the texts... clearly it's a bad translation and it would be a good idea to improve it especially now that there is little content.

But in general this demo is promising.

Pros: good art, good CGs, love a magic girl, MC is attractive, corruption
Cons: poor translation, I don't think virginity is actually tracked, it's more like, if your lewd score is above 10 it's assumed you're not a virgin. Short demo

Not worth downloading.

- generic story, its not bad for H standards but devs could try better
- generic rpgm combat with nothing to make it interesting, there are dozens of games that done it a lot better
- mid or even low quality arstyle and H scenes

The demo's really promising—great art, solid gameplay, and fun mechanics! Looking forward to a longer story, more H-scenes/endings, and hopefully a better translation in the full release. Can’t wait to see it!

So, to be fair since I didn't make it past the prologue, I gave it one more star than I wanted to... But this TL is freaking terrible. I've seen MTLs better than this. I'd recommend coming back to this game once it finds a proofreader or at least a better MTL tool if not a legit translator since the art does show potential
