VN Majikoi series and the infamous "A debugger has been found" error

Hey people! So i recently wanted to get back into Majikoi since i finally had some time for it and really wanted to go through it from the start to the finish. First game ran fine. but when i got to the second game. majikoi S a little problem occured, more specifically the "a debugger has been found in your system" error. Now i had solved this issue in the past however with new windows updates etc i guess it is not surprising that my fix years ago is no longer working (nor remembered by me). and i have sadly spent about a week trying to get the game to work but to no avail. Some information is that im running on windows 10. i also use bitdefender. i have made an exception of all the games in bitdefender and ofc restarted the pc. reinstalled and moved the games around to various harddrives etc on the pc. sadly nothing seems to work. and this being my absolute favorite series of all times i really wanna play it. so i am now asking you ugys if there is anyone out there that might have any idea on how to fix this error so that i can once again play this game series. (i sadly do not have a "return" point that i can reset to either i was too stupid to actually set that before). But yes i would love it if i could get a fast reply. if possible. As for the first question, i have tried installing it in different drives as well as in different folders. the latest one i tried was on an external and the same issue happened. i have also tried to completely remove it as well as reinstall it but that did not seem to work. (and this debugger issue only happens with the minatosoft games so yay). as for drivers and firmware i will try that in a bit and ill look into the guide as well and try it out. (looked into the guide)

I have already followed some of the steps in this guide prior to try and fix it, the only thing i had not done was to check for gameguard (which i could not find after a search) and to boot it without 3rd party thingies. so i will probably try to boot it differently and see if that works.. also while going over this i was wondering if maybe bluestacks could have any effect on this, or maybe riot vanguard (i know blustacks is for phone games but still). so to summarize the only thing left to try on that list that i can do is to change boot settings. and maybe see if i can find gameguard hidden somewhere. since i cant restore windows to an earlier point sadly. ill also try with the drivers and firmware first just to make sure. but that will have to be tomorrow when i get the time. i will make an uppdate when i have tried it and see if either of those two work.

(this problem usually happened in the past due to windows uppdates from what i can remember)

When it comes to the majikoi a1-a5 games they are already "preinstalled" as in i just need to run it from the download folder i got. so not sure how to fix this. the last time i just made an exception on the firewall of bitdefender but now i'm not so sure on what to do. if you have any tips regarding this i'd appreciate it.



//Edit 2. so i was wondering if there are some things that could affect it like other programs like for example cheatengine? since i did see it mentioned somewhere that you might get the error if it was running, but since i don't have it running i don't think it would affect it? and if so would uninstalling it help?

Have you considered just uninstalling Bitdefender altogether and instead?

i have considered it, the only problem is that the last time i did that windows defender decided to delete over 300g of games from my pc. i have also turned off the bitdefender but it still happens. while adding it to the windows firewall as exclusions so not sure if that would help

removing bitdefender fixed it
Sounds good, glad to hear that your problem is resolved now. Yeah, I suspected removing/uninstalling BitDefender would positively affect the outcome in some way. Hopefully, you don't run into more issues when playing your game now (y)
