I've been playing f95 game since like 2020 and never thought about making a game but this week out of nowhere ı realy wanted to make my own game , characters , world and story. It actually started after a doujin ı wanted a game like this but never saw it. It will be a harem incest superpower game might contain managment and a little bit of corruption. Thing is I've never draw , I just started drawing a few days ago so I want some drawing , animation advice but not just that I dont know sht about how you make rpgm game and coding so I'd like your advice and want to talk about my game and discuss with you all so you can ask me questions too and might give me new ideas. Any advice and reply is fine and if there is turkish people ıt might be better for talking about the story <3

i’ll just say this, please think twice before making an ntr route. and if you do, at least don’t make the protagonist a total wimp or loser. give an option to take revenge on the antagonist. good luck!

Congrats on taking your first steps to making your own game. If I could start off by offering some advice it would be to pick at least one of the three pillars (Story, Drawing, Programming) that you want to do solely by yourself and start focusing on that a little everyday. It doesn't have to be for four hours a day but make sure to get a little time in here and there to think and ponder.

There isn't a necessary order as you will just be gaining a lot of general skill and experience but its important to decide early on what you want to primarily focus on first so that you can start working towards your goal. Each of three has their own pros and cons but being able to learn and improve at any of the three will greatly improve your game.

If you decide to take a hand at programming first in rpgmaker I suggest taking a look at the videos by Lvl Up Design. They have great tutorials on a lot of the fundamentals you will need to understand as you build your game.

1: Since you're a novice, you really want to start with a design document. As an example, here's the design document for the original . You want that point of focus so that you can establish the exact scope of your project and to avoid that temptation to keep adding more and more ideas to a project until it's an incomprehensible mess that can't be finished.

2: Keep it simple. There's nothing wrong with ambition but as a rule of thumb your earliest projects should be the simplest projects. Even with an off-the-shelf dev tool like RPG maker you don't want to try and punch too far above your weight class.

Thing is I've never draw , I just started drawing a few days ago so I want some drawing , animation advice but not just that I dont know sht about how you make rpgm game and coding so I'd like your advice and want to talk about my game
Some incredibly popular games have had some incredibly cheap, slapped together art. Doesn't need to look great, just needs to look good. If you genuinely enjoy creating art, you should create your own art, but there's absolutely no harm in using something like Koikatsu or Honey Select 2, etc to do the heavy lifting for you.

I would disagree here strongly. Depending on their level of experience I wouldn't suggest starting off with a design document since design documents are made by people with prior development experience and depending on how much experience they have (I assume none based on their initial message) its probably more important for them to just start writing, sketching, or making maps creatively so they can gain foundational knowledge.

Design Documents are cool but they are a more advanced topic taught to developers only once they pass the fundamentals. Its best to avoid till one has enough experience.

Looking forward to seeing what you can do! RPGM has boatloads of people using it and resources, so hopefully you'll make good speed.

Also your "I"'s are broken for me for some reason. :coffee:

Starting with comics is a good way to build your skills. Whenever you finish one don't be afraid to post it, first may not be well written but after a few you will find your footing. Good luck friend.

And I tend to emphasize that your first design documents will be bad, but that it's an important learning experience.

More early projects sink or swim because their developers learned to pull their punches.

Resources like this:
(Both beginner and some advanced)
(Plugins, tiles, animations, etc)
(These are MV tutorials, but mostly apply to MZ as well)
(There are a few different playlists here, depending on version)

animation
Massively time consuming and / or expensive. Don't. Good animation is expensive, bad animation looks bad. Unless it naturally fits (I would expect someone who was making use of Honey Select would use some of Honey Select's baked in animation loops) it is not a good idea. Especially early on. Even industry giants in the VN sphere with the money and resources are usually trigger shy about dumping budget into voice acting, let alone animated sequences.

Designer art is completely fine when you're starting out. There's tons of tools and techniques out there to get a ton of mileage out of relatively limited art skills. Making 2D sprites out of 3D renders is a very 90's method of getting the best visual fidelity out of limited hardware, although the method is veeeery time consuming. Applying filters can also make art punch above it's weight class when used cautiously.

do you guys have advices for animation and art in general

I think Art is okay to do towards the beginning if it helps you accomplish a few things and gets the bowl rolling with the overall story and development work. Animation is a goal of mine but it takes place near the end of development due to its enormous time and money cost. Like the previous poster said animation can still look off even after a ton of time and money went into it. Best to forget about animation till a much later later date when you ideally have some financial support and or good reception.
