I have a homemade spaghetti sauce recipe, I've worked in 3 italian restaurants(there's a lot of them in this city cause a third of the population is italian here) and in all of those cases it took a minimum of three hours to cook the sauce, and at least 20 min. of prep, half hour-45 min at home cause I have to open all the packaging and such.
And yet in every AVN I've played where the protaganist makes spaghetti it seems to take 1/2 hour all told. And I know there's quick and easy spaghetti sauce recipe's but A) in spite of the fact the recipes claim you can get it done in 20 min. I've never seen it take less than 40 in actuality(and that's by people who actually know their way around a kitchen) and B) they suck. Ragu is better than a good 3/4 of the quick and easy homemade sauce's I've had and even the one's that are only marginally so and not worth the effort.
What I'm wondering is do the devs who write this not know much about cooking or do they actually think most people make quick and easy spaghetti sauce(which is not my experience at all)?
For the record my sauce takes about an hour of prep(that includes the meatballs as well though) and 5-6 hours of cooking to reduce properly. And yes it is amazing,, best I've ever had(not my recipe, old familyrecipe I got from my gnandma).
