Is there a video or something for this? Knowing me, I would probably fuck up the process and screw up something in my laptop. Also, I’m very ignorant about computers and as much as I appreciate it, I was lost in your explanation.
Unfortunately no there isn't a video explanation that I know of for all of the programs and how they work, but there is a video explanation on how to do the more complicated part, which I'll post when we get to it. This is all stuff that I've figured out myself after years of playing Japanese games of all kinds. I'll try to simplify it, everything that I'm going to describe is pretty easy to find. First, if you're still using the old ITH there's a new version out made by Artikash called Textractor which does the same thing but better and has more features. Second, there's a fantastic translation website and app called DeepL, there is a free version that works just fine, I don't think you ever need to pay for it, but I do because I like the extra stuff that comes with it. Third, there's programs called OCR that allow you to capture text on screen within a box when you press a hotkey, the program I use is called Easyscreen OCR, but there are others out there (from what I've tried, Easyscreen OCR is by far the best one out there for capturing Japanese text). Easyscreen has a free version, but it has limited free captures before you have to wait awhile before you can use it again, it's cheap though so I'd recommend buying a license for it. If you're already aware of what Translation Aggregator is, and you have one that works, then you don't need to do anything extra with it, that's still the best aggregator out there, I just recommend also using DeepL because it's significantly better at translation than any other machine translator out there because it's using AI deep learning.
So, that's all of the software you'll need, textractor, easycreen OCR, DeepL, and Translation Aggregator. Next, you'll need to get an extension on your browser called DeepL - Auto VN Translation Extension. One thing to remember with that extension is that you need to remember to turn it on or it won't paste the text into DeepL. For this part there is a video that I managed to find that shows you what to do, unfortunately the person who made it isn't talking, they're just gesturing with their mouse, but I think it gets the point across. If it doesn't I can help out with text and see if I can explain the step by step process to get it all working together.

One thing the video doesn't show you is the OCR, the way it works with DeepL is that when the VN translation extension is turned on it will automatically pull from your clipboard when you capture some JP text with it, so it will automatically paste captured text into DeepL for it to translate it just like anything it copies from Textractor. It might seem complicated, but once you've figured out how to do it once, you'll see that it's not really hard to set up and the benefits are significant compared to all of the old ways of doing it, especially if you're playing a game where your text hooking software isn't properly picking up the text. (Which is another cool feature that textractor has, the ability to search for hooks using Japanese characters, so with the ocr you can capture the JP text then search for it using textractor and it can find hooks that it couldn't when it attached sometimes). You'll just have to play around with the programs some and I'm sure you'll figure it out.
