Male protagonists in western 3D games

Why there are so many games that have many beautiful women that you can fuck/date (I'm talking about western 3D games) but the male protagonist that I'm supposed to identify with looks like Kindergarten Escapee with some bone disease, severely underweight and they look atrocious and not even in good way like I would prefer to play as ugly fat bastard rather than those plain MC.

Idk am I the only one that feels that way? Is there a good reason why so many games seem to have women that look like someone put 100h into their model meanwhile male MC looks like 30min wank of a job? Am I strange for wanting good modelled Male MC? And I know that there are some games where they really look good but it does not seem to be a majority of the projects!


As I said I don't mind playing as Ugly Bastard dude as long as there was some effort put into his look. If I'm wrong let me know because I actualy want to know

I think this is largely Big Brother hangover; he was super popular, and the primary gateway into porn games for a lot of western devs. I don't think there's any implicit goal in itself of MC being a weeb, but if you don't users do then to bitch a little

1) For some devs the MC is just a means to an end - the girls are the ones they're interested in.
2) A lot of devs use Honey Select to make their characters. Apparently that literally cannot produce a decent looking male model.

Some devs assume that people playing porn games are ____ or ____. Actually it's a very broad demographic.

Don't assume that your fans are all the same. People can be losers for a variety of reasons, they aren't all obese, or scrawny, they aren't all ugly or unlucky with the ladies... many of them are actually happily married, and proud of their wife's children.

I don't. To me it's the same thing as reading a novel, or watching a movie. Although I like multiple possibilities in games and make the choices that I prefer, I play games thinking "What would I do in this type of situation?", but always being fully aware that this is not me.

Edit: And for some strange reason I enjoy watching ugly dudes fucking beautiful girls in porn and porn games. Maybe I'm the only one who thinks that way, but I doubt it.

I think because many of the most popular games (largely those from the so-called 'Golden Age') are incest games about a schoolboy who lives with his family or a uni-student returning to his family. Both they and their less-successful copies seem to care very little about the appearance of the MC (your 30 mins work is pretty generous... most just use the free assets available, like Michael 7 with Matthew haircut, Aidan 7, or Max; a few take 5 mins to make them younger with a Growing Up morph or mixing a teen character into the body). This doesn't seem to bother the player base (who might actually prefer never to see the MC, judging by the popularity of POV games) - and thus doesn't create an incentive to change.

There are several pretty good games that have taken care over their male MC, and in which he is decent looking: Become a Rock Star by Mr Jet, Vinland by Huitieme, Unleashed by Carbon Blue, Tales from the Unending Void by Perverteer, Fall Fable by Pro Morning. The best, of course, is SpaceCorps XXX - in which you actually play a hunk ROFLMAO: bias? whaaaat?!)

I find the same problem is true for DAZ. the male morphs tend to be very limited and somehow even more useless than female morphs.

if you take 100 morphs for a female, maybe 15 of those are usable. then relatively speaking for a male you have maybe 30 morphs, and 3 of them are useful. then you try your best with those, but it tends to be hard.

and unless you're a modeler AND a good classically trained artist, you're kinda stuck with the morphs.
