Unity - Completed - MalO on Camera [Rework v1.2] [Mikifur]

Decent FNAF clone set in a bedroom rather than an office and with only one "enemy".
You control the security cameras around the house, a door and a window. Unfortunately the hentai scenes are lame which gives me no motivation to keep playing.

VERSION AT THE TIME OF THE REVIEW: Rework v1.0

I had this game in the watch list for a while since the smartphone mechanic intrigued me. I downloaded it just now 'cause I read that the new version was a rework, so I gave it a try.
The game is very short at the time but it looks like some effort was put in. I think the sex animations should be improved more, especially when you click the cum button and it jitters to the start of the cum animation instead of being seamlessy integrated, but I guess this will be fixed. Speaking ofthe cum button, the particles are really bad lmfao, I hope they will be fixed as well.
The gameplay is FNAF-like (duh) and I enjoy all the different things you can do into the night, even if I think the game is really too easy, the sound cues are too obvious and there aren't enough red herrings.
I'm giving it 5 stars because I tried the previous version to check the smartphone mechanic and the game was really shitty, the difference was night and day. That's why I think this game has potential and that the dev will cook.

JULY 2024 EDIT: The developer has fixed some of the bugs and made the game easier as well as added some extra custom scenes for the custom difficulty. That's nice, I guess, but I couldn't actually get them because there's now a bug where if Mal0 destroys one of your cameras it remains destroyed for the rest of the game. Restarting the game doesn't fix it. She ended up destroying all of my cameras so that meant I couldn't find her anymore and got caught. This is only fixed if you clear all data which means resetting all of your progress and doing everything all over again. The animations are still kinda meh for the original version compared to the rework version so the original is not even worth trying out at this point.

The rework has better graphics and better animations but right now there is no different settings for the graphics. All you get is a "potato mode", that's literally what it's called, which turns off ALL the effects. So if you wanted to disable just one effect you find annoying, like for example chromatic abberation, you can't. It's all or nothing. Hopefully we'll get better options in the future as the game is in, as the menu states, "Early Access". I'm changing my rating from a 2/5 to a 3/5 as the game is still nothing special but the dev is improving and it might actually become something worthwhile later on.

If you're looking for a horror FNAF-style security camera game just go play Fuck Nights at Fredrika's. Mal0 is nice but this game is buggy as all hell.

By night 4 it becomes damn near impossible to win because of buggy sound cues that don't play when they should with the entire audio sometimes cutting off completely until you restart the game and Mal0 double spawning or even triple spawning in some cases. Restarting the level doesn't do anything to fix the extra spawn bug, you have to restart the game itself and even then it doesn't always work.

It makes for an extremely frustrating experience that ultimately doesn't offer much in terms of rewards, just some mediocre animations with no climax for any of them. Even if you're here specifically for Mal0 you're better off just going to any furry porn site and searching for Mal0 videos, there's plenty of them out there by now and with better animation than in this game.

Was looking forward to a good erotic horror game, but I am unfortunately disappointed again. This one does have promise, but there's some major issues.

First and most important, the sex scenes. This is supposed to be a horror game where you are stalked by a spooky sex creature. Why is the player topping in 2 of the scenes, with MalO moaning submissively underneath? Quality of the scenes aside (they could use some work), the appeal of this kind of game is for the player to be caught, not just to have sex. Otherwise, why are they trying to hide?

Second, the AI seems broken. MalO only showed up on my camera a couple times; by night 4, I only had ~5 active cameras and all she did was pop up at the window over and over; despite this, I still somehow lost. Am I supposed to flash the blank cameras? What's the point of blanking out cameras if it ruins your chance to see spooky-sexy MalO poses?

This game needs to lean way heavier into its horror aspect if that's what it wants to go for. Unfortunately that probably requires a lot of work; a lot more ambient noises, more spooky events, probably some better lighting. Create a sense that this thing is trying to get you.

The goofy messages on the phone don't really add anything either. I get that it's trying to be light-hearted, but light-hearted and horror don't reeeally mix. Maybe if looking at images on the phone actually gave you a clear look at something erotic, but drained your power, that'd be fun. Temptation mechanics are nice.

A lot of this is subjective (I am a huge fan of femdom and dark atmosphere), and to be fair, I quit at night 4 after the aforementioned issues. Perhaps it's just not for me. Will continue to look at updates, though; best of luck!

Despite it's shortness, it's great and simple little FNAF inspired game with it's own way of "fighting the intruder". The animations are quite decent, although it's still a bit clunky at times but overall I think it's worth your time if you're interested in this sort of game or this character (MalO) in general.

The scenes are average, not bad but not good either, they are tied to the night you are in and you unlock them on defeat so that's kind of meh. There's no point in looking at the cameras, it's better to wait for MalO in your room. If the finished product it's going to be the same but with more scenes then I think my rate will be the same.
