Unity - Completed - Man of the House [v1.0.2c Extra] [Faerin]

A bit grindy, but I like how the gameplay is simple but fun, the writing is very simple but it works fine, ok fleshed out characters, and the sex scenes aren't bad, the amount of content makes of for some of the shortcomings.

Good game but could definitely use improvements.

Namely;
-Animations are rigid.

-Some mechanics are there only to be used once (Notepad, for instance).
Even mechanics that are used multiple times are just exact repeats of previous uses. For example, Honestly, if it weren't for the built-in cheat console, I probably would have gotten bored with this game.

-Models are just okay, and the MC looks like a psychopath.
Of course, this tracks with his general behavior, which is highly manipulative, particularly with Veronica and Claire. It works for V, but it feels a bit inauthentic for C.

- Orgasms... It's weird to complain about this, but it was so consistent. Almost everyone cums at the exact same time every time.
This is a minor complaint.

-Endings are plentiful, but predictable. Also, only 1 pregnancy ending.
Would have been nice if the two alternate girls had multiple endings like the 3 main girls, and if all the main girls had 3 endings, instead of 3-3-2.

-Secret Ending could have been better. Either by
- Subjective, but the game is also mostly vanilla, but there are some kinks that are much not up my alley. In particular exhibitionism and light femdom. Fortunately the femdom is eventually flipped on the female, but the exhibitionism is plentiful and seemingly unavoidable. Like with
+One big positive is the built-in hints mechanic. I rarely had to look at the walkthrough to ensure I got all endings in a single playthrough. There were a few achievements that were less than obvious, and a couple hints that weren't precise enough to figure out without multiple in game days of experimenting, but it was still better than most in game walkthroughs.

Overall, it's not bad by any means, but there are better titles to scratch the particular itch I was looking to alleviate with this one.

Despite this game being on the surface just as basic as many, many, many, many others... there is something here that makes it stand out. It shows good design. I have to agree that the models are something practically standard, but that is not the point where it shines.

Two grand points in its favor. One is the constantly switching methods to advance in your progress towards banging one of the women. This both gives new options to engage and gives them a greater life. You slowly learn about them and the means by which to be helpful. Only on a few paths do they extend far too much and feel rather grindy.

The second are the hints that show you how to move on. Far too often in such games do you have no damn idea where to go next. Now you have those little things down there to tell you what to keep doing or what to change up. No longer do you have to check everything everywhere at every time of day to see where is the next step. All games need that.

My personal gripe is that the superhero ending feels a bit cringe and at several times her path feels flat, as well as some of the endings being a bit eh. Though I welcome the option of the special ending. And mentioned that the models do feel rather standard, so not much impressive with the sex scenes, I appreciate the PLOT more. Equally, Veronica utterly surprised me and she is my favorite.

This is one of the classic games, at least in this site universe!

At first glance, it doesn't look anything special. Models are default, out of stack. Story is simple: go fuck them all! But, the game is excellently designed, and very funny. It's the perfect balance of gameplay and smutty stuff. It's a shame the developer felt fed up with this and didn't develop the stories with side girls. Anyway, I would recommend this game to anybody!

This is my first s*x game and i keep a very good impression about it. The gameplay is not to important, the scenes and characters are very goods and i love the phones and collectibles management in it.

Very enjoyable game. You can corrupt your sister, mother and aunt. I like the idea of the game, the execution and the humor. The nice graphics fit nicely into the game world around us. The game is available in Polish, which is a big plus. I had fun playing this game. Thanks.

I don’t get it?

It’s the type of game you play through the map, because nothing else matters other than a forever looping schedule by the place, by the hour. The same events, most of them don’t scale with relationship progress.

The ‘survival’ aspect is also awful- it just annoys and gets in the way without any reward, you don’t do better when in perfect shape, there’s no point to money past a few upgrades, that make stats a non-issue.

Once schedule is clear and stats no longer matter, you realize there’s actually very little content and a fairly liner progression, yet with cryptic interactions to make it all fit in place.

Limited content, things to do, robotic actions and progress make it boring.
Tags and reviews really got my hopes up, got a bare-bones experience instead.

This game will remain a classic for me. Although it is a monotonous and content-deficient game, it holds a special place as the first adult game I played. It introduced me to f95zone and helped me discover a fantasy of mine. Having my first experience with this game made me open-minded to different and previously unexplored aspects of the gaming world. Therefore, despite its shortcomings, it will always be a game I remember fondly and with nostalgia.

I have no problem with all the grinding, and the game even has ways to cheat if you don't like spending too much time playing

The story is ok, the characters are hot (Emma and Veronica were my favorites)

My only problem with the game was that the MC and sometimes the LIs felt "robotic", with weird faces and movements. But again, this game was finished in 2019

Perhaps it’s because it was the first game of this kind that I played (visual novel with decisions and certain freedom of movement), but it seems very complete to me. It’s not a super original story, but it perfectly fulfills at the level of art (3D modeling), fetishes, personalities of the girls, and situations. Plus, it’s in Spanish, perfect

Here's the thing, 5 stars for this is outrageous. 1 star is also very harsh, and I'm not saying that this is a badly made game at all, everything functioned well, looked good and all in all feels like a professional product.

Basic takeaway: anyone who values their time should look elsewhere.

The problem is that this game is repetition at its finest, and it's a bit insidious about it. While RPG games here might have tons of battles that you have to repeat, it's obvious where there's grind. In this game, it kinda hits you with enough story variety early on that you don't think it's going to be grindy, and the survival needs system is compelling enough at first. But I spent 6 hours in this game without any sex, and that's by design. There wasn't anything really fun about that 6 hours, and I don't particularly care about any of the characters.

So for 6 hours I looked at recycled renders, recycled words, and nothing really interesting. The only way I can fathom this game having such high reviews is that people played it who genuinely do not value their own time at all, OR they used cheats from the get-go. I think anyone who wants to enjoy it should. But I hate that, because then it's hard to know how to balance the cheats optimally. Making something so droll that people HAVE to cheat to enjoy it is awful design, despite obvious talent behind this game.

The whole family looks way too robotic, the 3d Models don't have personalities, they are doll.

The story and game functionalities are alright but appart from that, cmon!!!

Good game. Stories are slightly above average. Character models are what make this game stand out.

Intended gameplay is super grindy and micro-management is important and makes the game boring after 2-3 hours BUT inside the original game, without modding, it is easier to increase some stats, money and needs. I personally doesn't like using cheats but after experiencing some systems and enjoying them, after few hours of gameplay it became a frustration so I just cheated instead. TLDR: Game-design is a mess.

Stories are what make Man of the House enjoyable. There are little puzzles in every story that you have to find out what to do to get to next step of that story branch.

Models are good I mean really good. Every character has a personality which is implicated via looks, outfits etc.

3/5 but a must-have played game.

5/5, one of the first games that I've ever played, classic in sandbox+family genre. Loved the story, the development between characters, and how different temperament-wise they were. Cool game, would recommend to everyone.

First game from F95zone that I finished.

My only complaint is that I don't like how the younger sister looks, but other than that, the game has really set a high bar of how adult games should be.

I enjoyed everything from the scenes, gameplay mechanics, and the gameplay loop. A great game overall.

Great Game. Great story, development, decision making. The proportions of the characters are elegant, different among them and the way they support and change the story is fantastic.

This must've been some game in it's time. But now in 2023 the juice is not worth the squeeze, or rather the grind. I liked the build up, the visuals hold up pretty well, but after a couple of hours of non stop clicking I've given up and checked unlocked gallery only to find out the h-scenes are sparse and the endings pretty underwhelming.

A good game overall. The positive aspects have already been mentioned in other reviews, but overall, it's effective. It's hard to place it in a top 10 due to what's being done nowadays, but if I had known about it back then, I'm sure it would still be there. I've experienced other slightly lesser games before, but they're still there due to nostalgia. Initially, I didn't find the girls particularly to my liking – too many characters with large breasts and little variety – but eventually, you get used to it. The facial designs are not always great, but they're compensated for by good shots and a mechanic that keeps us engaged. There isn't too much music, but when it's there, it's well done; it's also quite good that there isn't always music, a good balance there. The sandbox is just how I like it – true freedom! Even modern games fall short in this regard. Is it repetitive? Not as much as one might think; you can play to optimize your points when needed, so I disagree with the repetitive aspect that's being criticized. No more so than in other games. The game is enjoyable, without shaking things up, but it does make you curious about the creators' work, and in that respect, thanks to "Man of the House," they've found new support!
