RPGM - Manila Shaw: Blackmail's Obsession [v0.39 J.D] [Abaddon]

The first third of this game is a hot police women getting corrupted and finding herself in 'situations', its great.

Then the game stars to turn into some incomprehensible sci-fi nonsense

By the final 1/3 all it is poor written really confusing sci-fi with long cut scenes and difficult battles that offer few save points in between. I cheated my character to make them stronger, I 'm not even sure ithe fights would be possible to complete without cheating. What fap stuff there is for the final third is just shoe horned in .

The last third of the game is really really bad, especially in comparison to the first third which is great.

After the Ren'Py version came out, it became clear that the game is weak. It could have many more sexual scenes to balance the experience. Right now, it feels more like a repetitive soap opera, with long dialogues and little action. The lack of adult scenes makes the game monotonous and unattractive. It would be interesting to add more variety and intensity to the scenes, maintaining the story's progression but without losing focus on the adult content that should be the main highlight.

The game is both wonderful and terrible.
+ Good art.
+ Fetishes are well implemented.
+ I liked the characters in this game.

- There are many bugs in the game, due to which some quests may be blocked for you.
- A very boring and monotonous routine.
- Technically primitive animations of sex scenes.
- There is no way to skip a sex scene in the game.
- Random and drawn-out combat system (you can simply miss with an attack 5 times in a row).

+-The combat in the game is quite challenging, and there is no difficulty option.

First off, manila (cunty name) is arguably the hottest MC you will come across! An absolute goddess!

The sex scenes are also frequent and very steamy, there's a reasonably good plot (for a porn game) and the pacing is quite fast. If you like corruption stories with amazing renders and hot sex scenes, do not miss this game.

This one has some good intentions but ends up not being a good experience. First of all, the story is completely uninteresting and takes some very weird and unwelcome turns at some points from what I've seen. Then the game actually tries to make an interesting gaming experience, but the combat system is quite boring and the walking around is a waste of time. There seem to be a lot of choices and they seem to matter a lot, which is good, but many of them are unclear on how they relate to things if you play without a walkthrough or guide.

Render quality is decent, but not great. And sex scenes are very bad, mostly a couple stills, one or two very short loops of animations poorly done which you have to see for longer than you'd like and that's it. And aparently it focuses heavily in the pregnant fetish so if you're not into it, skip this. Sound is very annoying as well, both the music and the sound effects.

So, all in all, I'd skip this one.

I'll start off with what I consider the positive aspects of the game:
The story: It's not anything profound or anything but it keeps you engaged.
Content: The game has a lot of content depending on weather you choose the "justice" or "corruption" path. I do enjoy how the choices can play into later interactions, and it shows that dev put a lot of effort into that so props to them.

Now to the negatives:
Pacing: The game has a certain feeling of sluggishness, that I can't quite explain. Moving around in the game seems like a chore, especially when you have to change outfits to do quests. The animations also add to that feeling as well, because for some reason you have to watch the entire thing before you're given the option to click out. I'd have preferred if they were just still images tbh.
Combat: The combat, has no defined scaling which makes it hard to prepare for encounters, and if you're doing a pure justice run you're better off just cheating.
Corruption: There isn't really a process of corruption, what I mean by that is you don't actually experience Manila's personality being corrupted, the two options between "justice" and "corruption" act as ways to block/unlock content or add an extra choice later, they don't have a major impact on her personality. You could be 5 hours deep having not made any corrupt choices, but Manila would still act like she's a slut, especially if it's her first time losing her virginity.
Clothing: This is a minor nitpick based on me being a fashion head so don't take it seriously, but Manila's "sexy" clothes are ass her casual summer and sensual outfits are more appealing in terms of sexiness.

My original review was fairly harsh. I started over and no issue this time.
The art is about a 3.5.
The story isn't Shakespeare nor does anyone expect it to be. 3
There is a decent amount of content 4.
Game play to may pause and wait crap seriously it is like the developer thinks we have all the time in the world. It would be great if we could push a button and get past some of the garbage so. 3 .5

I will be concise.

The game is not bad, my rating doesn't represent the quality of the game. It's just that I played this game in his early devloppement, and really fell in love. The chara design, all the avaible routes, it was really promising.

But comes the desillusion, last time I played the game was like 1 year ago, and seeing the devlopement made in 1 year is ridiculous... I think like 1 year ago we were at the the begining of the final mission, where we go to the motel, and there is just like maybe 25/30 min of gameplay (metro + joe's reffuge) since then. I'm not a patreon supporter of the project, and u guys should stop too, if you wan't content to come back.

And I'm not really a big fan of where the story is going, we had a simple thing at first, so I was ok with experiments to make women fertile etc, but all that Kami stuff... He should have keep it simple, and I would say maybe less routes if he can't keep up with updates, but the routes ain't even the problem cause in the last mission it doesn't matter anymore.

So to resume, I'm really disapointed where the project is going, and with the slow updates...

The game is is awsome in every sight and it make much fun to play it.
But like awsome it is, it is buggy as hell and often there are no quest pointers get showing and that means you are stuck for ever and can´t play further. And that is reaaly shitty because after over 55h playtime you have now two choces. Cancel the game or maybe worst play it from the beginning and maybe the same happend?!?

Addicted. Yes Just one word. Character Model and Gameplay experience is Best in Class. then the storyline. I loved with Manila. Yeah Exactly what mean by that. Addicted.

This is a good game. Art is briliant. Dialogues is good. Gameplay is... repetative and unbalanced. Some fights unwinnable. Justice/Corruption stat is pretty useless. Choice having almost no influence to the game. Game is long and straightforward, no interesting subroutes.

Wow, a perfect symbiosis between RPG and VN . Very good the artwork and the story. For me i would like if Manila more self confidence ( i know the game is about blackmailing and submissive to Manila ) but i like this game regardless , simple answer, it is very good imao. So many choices for you how to Manila make her way. I like the old creep and i like the surprise twist in the story. Have fun.

Wow what a Fantastic game, developer wrote a interesting story line, and made sexy render.. I have played this game multiple time. Over the time renders became more and more sexy. . How beautifully a decent police women turned herself into sexy whore. Who is ready to fuck and suck every cock which ever comer in front of her at the end of the game. i must say this is this is among my best game and eagerly wait for update. I would recommend this game to everyone who wants to policewomen, story, big jiggling boob and ass, multiple choices each with great outcomes.

Scenes are hot and the plot is quite unpredictable, with meaningful choices.

The game could be updated a bit more often and the pace could've been a little faster, but those are small complaints.

Very hot and interesting MC, great renders, very good animations and the story is quite original, really interesting and with a lot of quests and choices to make.
Also the combat system is well developed, there are a lot of skills to unlock and some fights can be quite tough and require a good strategy.
One of the best adult games, imho.

This game is fairly over rated.

First if you don't like blacked stuff I'd avoid this game. While it is avoidable the game feels the need to shove it in your face sometimes. This wouldn't be an issue if it was just sex stuff but its 100% race stuff "boyfriend cheating on you you should take my big black cock as revenge." is literally one of the lines. Edit: update as of 2/23/2025 The interracial stuff happens much more often half of the scenes in the last half of the game are interracial, and your forced into some even if you turn the guy down every single time.

Now that my personal distaste is out of the way time for everything else.

Graphics:its an rpgmaker game

Renders for scenes: actually the characters are quite alright and the MC is hot though the scenes are a little "janky" sometimes 3/5

Story: Actually not bad for a porn 4/5 though I find it funny a police woman is in debt or needs a second job considering cops make quite alot.

Combat: 1/5 Random extreme spikes in difficulty could faceroll one fight and next is just tedium unless you have all the items

Now I can forgive everything else and I'd give this a 3/5 but it has one unforgivable sin. Its one of THOSE rpgmaker games the ones where you have to run everywhere back and forth filled with the most tedious shit. Get up take a shower, goto work then it gets bad run to your desk, now run upstairs and wait for the dude to let you in, then go back downstairs to talk to admin, then go back upstairs wait again and so on.

There is something in this game that keeps my attention despite its many shortcomings(maybe some of them intentional idk), lets see...

Everyone blackmail's you, but that in the title so i can't really complain and while some situation you can believe (suck mah dik or i shoot your friend), others are royally stupid(intentional?), like your boss blackmailing you because you are dating your coworker, so he starts by getting a room in a hotel and fucks you, what's stopping you from just making a photo in the hotel, he is literally breaks the same rules but 10 time worse, why would she even do that... and if you just ignore him he just whines a bit and leaves you alone, like bruh.
Literally anyone touches MC and she starts to orgasm out of nowhere, like that not how women works(intentionally hilarious?), like even if someone grabs a boob she just cums instantly.
Super bad animation loops(30 sec each non skippable) with terrible sound(i just delete all animations so i only hear low quality moaning for a couple of sec instead lol).
So many scenes and choices actually matter(win a battle, get blackmailed into sex or arrest them and later get a scene, lose a battle get a scene, there just so many of them and i hava to give props to the author here).
Combat is pretty fun for me, but the fact you can't skip combat animation(or maybe you can but i did not find any obvious way) makes it slow af.
The less corrupt you are the harder combat is and the more danger you are in, since you will have suboptimal gear while a corrupt cop can afford some protection and consumables wich is a nice and add a little more incentive to take some bribes to get your crime fightning funds going.
There is more, but i think i made my point, try it out, its a weird game, but it made with love, even with that junky writing.

This game looks a bit old because of the graphics. Nevetheless the renders are not bad. The story is good. I am only missing some proper endings.

It's been 4 or 5 years. Anyway, the game is great and has a lot of content for those who have been playing since the beginning. I have a feeling that the developer is a bit exhausted. But again, he did his best for the last update. Maybe it's not too long. But it is of good quality. All in all the game is great. Even the fights became interesting. Because of the large number of new skills. If the right order of abilities is used Manilla is a fighting machine. The corruption element is very interesting. At first, the principle of functioning of the quests may be confused, as is the map itself. But after a certain time, everyone will understand that it is quite easy. It will be a real shame if we don't see another sequel to the game. I also recommend the developer to put the game on steam. the completed first part is definitely worth the $60. This is one of the rare games of this type in which you will enjoy every element. The choice of plot movement is unpredictable, which is not bad because you can experiment and play more than once. Someone will surely make a detailed tutorial. All in all if we consider that this is a project of one person and what type of game it is and if we compare this developer with others. This is a clear ten regardless of all the complaints that everyone has.

Overall, I enjoyed this and look forward to future releases. This is one of the few games out there that hit the corruption spot. I mostly agree with the other feedback out there. Some of the scenes *appear* to have a different outcome, depending on your level of corruption (?) , not too sure about that, only had 2 playthroughs. Going through the "justice" route is pretty vanilla, so you'd want to go full on corruption for maximum fun.

Renders were well done. Some of the animated scenes were great compared to the other games out there. The sound effects were very loopy, which is where it lost some points

Story (4/5)

I enjoyed the corruption and blackmail aspect of the story, it was fairly well executed. The Burke and Storm plot lines were fun, and I wish there was more of that type of content. The story took a bit of a weird turn with all the super natural plot lines with the Kami. But I get it, it keeps the plot moving along, as well as providing opportunity for improved combat.

Gameplay (2.5/5)

Overall, the RPGM aspect is a bit repetitive, and combat was not enjoyable in the earlier parts of the game. The RPG elements however do improve as you progress in the game (more skills, etc.). Gameplay improves as the story progresses, but the downside is that it starts to lose the corruption/blackmail element as we progress more into the supernatural elements. I liked earlier parts of the story where losing battle had separate outcomes, rather than a simple game over.


A few things I think this could benefit from:
1. The combat is tough without modifying the saves, maybe make healing more accessible
2. Some form of gallery support to replay scenes, or better yet explore the other forked choices/outcomes without replaying the entire story
3. Some more scenarios tied to combat outcomes.
