HTML - Manslayer [v0.2] [digitalchic]

I'm eagerly watching this game and will surely change my review later, but I wanted to write a cautionary review for people considering this.

For a quick, spoiler-free rundown of what to expect currently:
- Nostalgia factor for Buffy fans, including brilliantly capturing the quippy bathos of the original.
- Excellent UI. Not only is it clean and bug free, but I love the tricks the author is using to create a moody UI.--It does have some forced waits though, which can be annoying for replays.
- Gender fluidity: current content suggests you'll be able to replace your penis for a vagina or pause the transformation and retain your penis.
- Sexual fluidity: current content suggests you'll be able to have relationships with men and women.
- A mostly kinetic story, so far. Although there are several choices throughout the story, I haven't seen a lot of impact from different choices--they all kind of rejoin a single plot line after a brief fork.

In short, I'm loving what I'm seeing so far, but there's only about 15 minutes of playtime with minimal smut and no replayability as of the current version (0.2), so maybe check back later if you don't like stories stopping as soon as you get familiar with the premise.

Great game! Looks nice! The story is excellent with some fun, quippy dialogue. It's definitely a must-try for fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and/or Angel. Anyone looking for some corruption and feminization should love this! Lots of interesting characters that I hope to interact with more in the future. I'm very excited to see any future updates!

A fun, hot VN!

At this stage not at all short. There's enough variety in the choices for scenes, but the scope is small/doesn't change the plot much, which is made up for in quality.

The enjoyment is thoroughly on its own merit, rather than banking on fan-servicing Buffy nostalgia (not that that's wrong, just saying: even if you're not into the genre, this is good).

Good choice stars for the characters, I do hope there'll be an effort to keep the material consistent, nonetheless resorting to other sources is understandable given the needed material and how it was presented by faceless shots is very good and minimizes the problem. Better than done by quite a few well established real-porn VN's.


Anny is great for this and the transformation art is very well done.

I do wish it gets voiced at some point and really hope there'll be richer visuals.

The writing is not too long and fun enough to keep me reading, I did find my self skipping a couple of times but more pushing myself to do it because I'm excited to see what's next rather than I can't be bothered to read and I'm forcing myself to keep reading.

There's a good variety of relationships with all manner of desirable tensions, from the lesbian friend, the blunt, morally ambiguous mentor, the damsel-in-distress thing with the ally, etc.

Hopefully it also gets an infusion of visuals (more scenes), but as it stands, this is a perfectly well-made text-based sissifcation VN with apt gifs for it's animated art.

This game is wonderfully written with a lot of care for the source material and it's skillfully crafted too, focusing on consistency of UI, user flow, and more. However, while sensual and sexy, prospective players should know this is something of a slow burn. The main character witnesses sex, and hallucinates a lot more sex, but doesn't actually have any sex themselves as of yet.

I have no doubt that this game will be quite the experience once complete and it's worth playing now for the story and characters, but not necessarily for the naughty times. Nevertheless, players should continue to give it attention and support for the eventual sextravaganza I suspect that dev digitalchic has in mind.
