Had the same issue of not being able to battle mobs with a JP download, not sure what's causing it.
The ring the blue elve give you at the start prevent you to be attacked by mobs.
Because she was alone and only knew healing after all.
Unequip the ring and u can then fight.

Im having a problem with finding the key for the slave masters house ive looked everywhere. I thing the guard says that im not good enough or something. Do i have to be a certain level of do i need to talk to someone. Help is all I ask.....
Does anyone have the game download link with translation applied i tried searching for links online but couldn't find any,
