As I understood it, talk to the icon ppl & accept or decline (your call), go to imp house, sleep at inn then top right house gets icon, beat boss. Something in that sequence gets things moving.

So I clicked default in the options menu and it fixed it guess it was either text speed or text being set to auto that was breaking it, hopefully it doesn't happen again later in the game.

I tested the part you mentioned, with different speed and Auto settings, and I didn't encounter this bug.
And the "Auto-text" setting is off by default, my guess is that your download somewhat got corrupted.
Also I encoded the game with UTF-8 encoding, so it shouldn't give you any problems unless you have some non-standard defaults on your system or non utf-8 locale.

Check the files in save folder are not set as read only.

Not bad for a fuller version, forgot the MTL one and while its nicer forgot how short and linear this is.
Glad to have a better translation though.

Did you remove a lot of the RPG maker sounds? It feels weird somehow, sound wise.

Edit: Yeah the audio files were different from original, replacing them with the extracted files from original japanese restored them back.

Yeah I believe the translator changed a few things.
