Does anyone have any ideas about the "grove" in the backyard?. I find the gains rather minimal but have a certain nostalgia because "father" told the kids it was important. I currently have a gazebo with pool, a garden, a dojo and a stable. So that is the only spot I have left for another garden or maybe an annex.
I'm pretty decent for money per day(can never be too much as I will need it for the fight against Morti) and I also have Burakumin farm and the island farm. They still need some work (upgrades and staff) but maybe I don't really need another garden at home. But I'm also trying not to have the annex mostly to "force" me to keep the staff down :D I don't think it's necessary to have that much staff, but last time I did a full run I had all the mines, the forest, 3 or 4 workshops, a tavern and a huge bucket load of staff. I was mostly making money from production (selling weapons mostly). I'm now trying to have money through businesses and influence (and the staff combinations to make it more profitable)..
it's fine if you're the one religion that gets the bonus.

i completed ‘The Prowler in the Depths pt2’, but when i go to Winton’s house nothing happens. did I do something wrong?
It's easy to miss if you're not paying attention, but when she first asks you to find her brother you have to tell her she's cute and that she can pay for your help with sex (I forget the wording, but you get the idea). If you do that, she'll agree and when you go back later she'll fuck you a few times before you can recruit her. If you don't pick that option you never get to fuck or recruit her.

Did this last night.

When you go the first time, and get asked for help, she will offer pay (not sure if there is some sort of skill check). You can ask for money or ask for "another way".
She will go on about something and the quest gets going. After you complete the quest you go back to her apartment and she will say something like "I need time to process this, come back tomorrow, and bring a male friend". Then you and another guy need to go there a few times for a "visit". After a while she will be going on about that she is in debt and blah blah. You invite her to your place. She will then say she needs to sort some things and I haven't heard from her since :D

I just started this last night and I am already considering restarting because I messed my character up lol. Its so much to take in at once, but do we have a definitive best starting follower group? I saw someone mention you can easily get a 0 salary group together right away thats really good?
Yes you can. And I have finished my SMOR run with almost the same group, with almost no training, with a MC that is a fat ass merchant with no throuble at all.

At the very start (1st day) your best combat group is Enya (with a wipping cane for captures) and pick 3 of Jack, Ansel ,Rebecca, Loren or Bud. As far as you have a team (and yourself) equiped with rifles and Heavy Leather, you can go and capture the Monk in Stocke Hills and Trulls in Waterly eyes. Give a decent salary to Trulls (+15$ gives you a +2 affection per day, +30$ a +3 IRRR) for a few days and you have a decent group with Rebecca, Trulls, the monk and another one. And then brace yourself and go for Cassius, in Kassey Park. It´s going to be hard, but if you get some assault rifles you will succeed. Do the same salary trick with Cassius and you have your core of middle game group.

With Cassius, Trulls, the monk and another one (I usually pick either Rebecca or Bud, one for the malevolent bonus or Bud for for the ammo pack) you get a group good enough to clean the map. Last upgrade, Kansas Addler (it´s mandatory if you want to progress in the SMOR line) and yes, he demands a big salary, but he comes with a Minigun, so it´s worth it.

My "normal" team is Bud, Kansas, Trulls and Cassius. I usually keep the monk at home as soon as he reach 150 in melee and reserve him for the big fights.

If you do everything correct in this quest Leia Winton simply joins your household as a slave.
1. Ask for another way to pay, if you agree to help for nothing you get nothing, as expected.
2. Do everything on the island.
3. Go back and let her know.
4. Take some male follower with you and visit her every day enough times.
5. She says she is in debt, offer to talk to the magistrate.
6. Buy her contract at the town hall, costs about 10k.
7. Go back, talk then add to the household.

I'm back at the game after not playing for a while. I can't remember or figure out how to train survival.
For the player best bet is to go hunting.

For NPCs go hunting with the PC, learn from an Educator or work as either Hunter or Scavenger.

For any other skills, PC or NPC, you can always consult the wiki, which is probably accurate enough most of the time.

Yeah, but it's one of those skills that you can't "train" at school or at home like say domestic. I actually don't want to go hunting just for the "skill" of an NPC (I'm decent enough with MC), but out the top of my head the best I have is only 75 Laika who doesn't improve anymore. but I may have some other busy with something else, so I'll double check.
I have 4 scavs and 4 hunters.
I really wish there was an excel style list for NPC skills.

Thanks.

If you mean what skill is useful for what purpose and how to train it I believe wiki is the best source despite having some outdated or missing bits.
If you mean finding out who in your household has best survival or other skill you may try my mod I guess (check signature). Shameless advertisement I know :)

I would love to have some more outfits. I have this thing with games where you manage NPCs. I like to have a uniform per job. We have the maid outfits, I would love specific outfits for janitors, hunters, scavs, nannies (wink wink), barmaids (you know those big titty oktoberfest ladies...lol) and more per each job. Like the nurse/doctor outfit on Caitlin.
Also, why don't we have a "permanent" entertainment entourage on the house, like a couple stripers on a pole or something?

Well, IIRC the learning cap for working as a Scavenger is 60, but a 100 for Hunters, but the odds of improving weren't that great for either.

There are probably a few NPCs who have decent Survival, maybe even the Scavenger trait, and you can always get lucky with a random slave.

Been going to every auction and not much luck. I actually find it kind of off that tribals from hunting tribes aren't better at survival when you pick them at Watery Eyes.
I've wrote this before somewhere, I would love to have some higher skilled slaves (maybe we can even chose a particular skill) being "ordered" to some guy with cart full of people selling door to door.

How exactly do you go about completing Crusader tasks for the Church? As far as I can tell, there's no indicator on the Tasks page, or my own Journal, nor did any cut scenes play. Is this something that has a random chance to happen, and I need to wait?
