Ren'Py - Maya's Mission [v0.5.3 Patreon] [Pinkmochidango]

As an Ace Attorney fan and as someone who typically avoids Renpy games because it's just synonymous with low effort projects, Maya's Mission is surprisingly good.

Not only does this feel like an actual Ace Attorney game when it comes to the exploration mechanics, it also has writing that is very similar to the actual games, properly characterizing the existing characters they're parodying.

The adult trading cards are great but the animated scenes are even better.

Attraction to fictional characters can come from their in-game appearance and writing and the game nails it so well. From original sprites made lewd yet almost like they belong to possessing the soul of the Ace Attorney writers, Maya's Mission had me as entertained as much as the official games.

The use of 3d models every now and then works really well for me, but is understandably jarring to those expecting a 2d game.

The gameplay, while reminiscent of an Ace Attorney game, adds to the formula so well. Card collecting and the nudity scanner add a sense of exploration that is further rewarded with other lewd scenes and the puzzle solving really makes this a porn GAME, not a PORN game.

The dev did a great job with this, the game really captures the style of the originals. Fun mechanics and great writing with a good story. I really enjoyed playing this and can't wait until it's finished.

Keep in mind please I am very, very critical of artstyle and the quality of art when reviewing games. It is the factor that weighs the most in the review.

I would've given the game a lot more, but I am very critical of sexy art. This one just misses the mark. The tags lie to you, it's in fact a 3d game with 2d faces (weird combination, but Paprika Trainer did it well... matter of fact it was the only type of this art done well if i think about it). You'd expect it being a 3d game to at least have plentiful content but honestly, it doesn't. The pacing is quick, so you'd get a couple of scenes later on. Story isn't really that inspired, it kind of becomes a bit daft especially later on, to the point it just does nothing with the plot and the situation that is really sexy.

The writing is cringy (albeit I haven't played ace attorney, so i have no clue if it's true to the series as a whole) and the poses are uninspired. The characters are mostly NOT sexy (I have a huge 2d bias when I'm talking about this, as any 3d model feels very "rigid" to me).

The game is fine for somebody that isn't that put off art that isn't awesome. The art style is mediocre (few games are mediocre, most are outright gross), the story is outstandingly vanilla for a cuckish story, and the CG's are uninspired. Probably for a fan of the series which this game parodies it might be a good pick, personally it wasn't great.

First of all, I gotta say I'm not the biggest fan of these low poly anime-style models compared to more realistic stuff like DAZ renders. The game's parodying an anime so it fits though. There's also not that much porn content in this game, so some people might not like it very much. I'm also not a big fan of the universe, I have no idea who the characters are besides the main one, since I've never been into it.

With that said, why would I give it 5 stars? First, because there's no option to rate it 4.5, which would be my real score. And second, because it's a pretty well-done NTR game. That's right, a real porn game, not a VN or a bad/mid SFW game with porn elements as a "reward" for playing. Or like some games where you're only rewarded for losing, so you have to purposely do badly just to see the content. What's the point of a porn game like that? Thankfully, that's not the case here.

What I liked was the writing, which is decent, the card collection minigame, the nude scanner, and basically every gameplay element that made sense. It all blended well into the porn aspect of the game. I especially liked how after some progression, you could see Maya doing something different on the camera, or even in the world, like being able to see through doors to the villain’s office.

What I'd like to see improved is more indication of when something changes or happens. What I mean is, it got kind of annoying having to check Maya's camera every time I did something or changed location, because once or twice I noticed it had an effect on the camera's content, and I didn’t want to miss anything.

Overall, I really liked this game because of how well the NSFW mechanics came together, even though it didn’t seem like it’d be for me at first, due to the render style, the (personally) uninteresting universe, and the limited amount of NSFW content. If not for the high rating, I'm pretty sure I would've never tried it.

Fully nails the vibe of Ace Attorney in both gameplay, art, and writing. Really fun story to play through. The collectable aspect is a fun side objective, the NTR is done really well, and the sexual content in general is a great bonus on top of everything else.
I've never had a big interest in Genshin but now I feel like I have to check out Klee Prank Adventure if it's half as good as this.

The idea and concept of the game is interesting, there are many mini-games, and the plot is interesting, BUT the game does not reward for the efforts. There are few N-scenes, instead the author suggests collecting cards with naked women and watching the same gifs in the tracking device that "Maya" gave to the main character. The game deserves two stars only for the plot and the fact that the mini-games are quite interesting to solve, everything else is done terribly. I do not quite understand where such high ratings come from, because there are many much more interesting games with or without the NTR tag.

PROS:
*The story is pretty good and has a good pacing.
*Nice and fun gameplay.
*Great art. Most girls are beautiful and sexy.

CONS:
*Maybe the only, but quite big problem of this game: The sex scenes!
The non-NTR scenes (sex scenes with the MC) are nothing too great, but are quite decent. On the other hand, the NTR scenes with Maya are definitely pretty poor… All NTR scenes right now can only be seen in the small and blurred screen of the remote spying device.

For someone that dislike NTR, it can be a 4/5 game. But if you are here for the NTR content, it’s kinda meh right now.

I hope the dev implement a Maya’s POV (or maybe the security camera footage view) in the future, for at least part of the NTR progress that happened with her. If this ever happens, I’ll revisit this game and edit my review!

Captures the essence of Ace attorney.
The maya scenes are so well done but they can be slightly improved on, 5 stars regardless.

I do wish chapter 5 was a bit stronger since a lot happens but it's done not very "excitingly". It feels like there's not enough expressive dialogue in a lot of that chapter. Mochi is capable of doing it though, as showing with all chapters before it. It was a great chapter but a little underwhelming.

Overall still one of the best VN games, especially if you like AA. Thanks for your epic work.

Haven't played the last updates. Waiting for the game to be fully released while I support the creator's Patreon (go give em a dollar, they're cool). This is very well done for its scope, and it has that aura of being made with love and professionalism that many indie games lack.

It's not necessary that you know about gyakuten sayban to enjoy this parody game, but if you do, it makes it 10000% times better. Also, if you like mystery NTR, this is a top pick.

strikes an extremely detailed and impressive mix between comedy, sexual content, and story. often found myself laughing a few minutes before, and then a few minutes later fully engaged in the sexual content when brought. this was an extremely impressive game, what most impressed me was the continual buildup of the character interactions, and it pushed me to play this game in one sitting, which took about 7 hours for me. the buildup on day 5, the current limit to which this version plays to, was extremely rewarding with the 'tracker' scenes. character design, environment, dialogue, all top tier from the developer. You don't necessarily have to have been familiar with ace attorney to play.
Recommend 100%.

It has one of the highest rating ever on this platform and I see why. It's not particularly ambitious. It doesn't aim too high. It simply does its job, and it does it right. It's so accurate, in the narratives, in the personality of the characters. It's just like playing the porn version of the orignal phoenix wright. It's like capcom made it. Vitually perfect. Fun and hot. The NTR it's cool, and feels very right. Hear me out. This game is a GEM

Held off trying this game cause i was skeptical + didn't want to ruin my childhood. Well, it still did ruin my childhood but it definitely lives up to the rating.

As someone who played all the Ace Attorney games i do think it literally just feels like Capcom developed this with a lewd twist. All the dialogue and personalities are true to form and it's just enjoyable if you played the game.

To be honest I could see this game being weird if you didn't play the original game, this is hopefully not to deter people from trying it but i don't get the reviews saying you don't need to have played it. Personally i think the quirks and context are what it's all basically centered around. This game shines around the dialogue and the parodying/storybuilding off the existing Ace Attorney lore. As far as actual H scenes they're just OK. I think i found myself laughing more than gooning to be completely honest.

Very good game. Characters are true to the source material, gameplay is as close to OG games as Ren'py engine can allow, and writing is surprisingly entertaining (and, again, manages to emulate the series' writing very well).
Kind of a weird part of the game is ntr component - it's mostly avoidable, and doesn't follow any of the usual ntr tropes. So I'm not really sure for whom this part of the game is for.
If you like ntr, it's not "ntr" enough and protag is not a cuck (how can he be, he's Phoenix Wright). And if you don't, it still may be a little off-putting. I don't care for it, but this design choice is unusual. I guess it kinda raises the stakes story-wise, so there's that.
Also the further the game progresses, the better author becomes at technical side of things - latest Franzeska scene is just amazing. Looking forward for future updates (and maybe some updates to earlier content)
There's also mini-games - I liked them, they help recapture spirit of the original and they're easy enough to not distract from the main aspect of the game (except Flappy Bird, screw Flappy Bird.)
So there's that. Definitely try it out if you're a fan of OG games.

I've never played Phoenix Wright, so I don't reall have the lore or the attachment to the characters. But this Ren Py game is very well done.

I'm a big fan of the comms mechanic in Armored Battle Solgante and see a version of it here is great. It's executed well. There's a good amount of content and awesome it has a walk through. My only complaint is last mini game.

Otherwise I recommend playing this for sure

For the most part it's a really well done Ace Attorney parody, really does a good job imitating the style and the vibe.
Of course the writing style and themes are clearly different but it still pays attention to the source material.
Gameplay wise it's more a straight up vn with some puzzles and minigames. They added the psych locks as a system, but mostly as a reference, no finding / presenting the right evidence.

Not a fan of the minigames, there are not a lot of them, apart from opening a security door, the style of them just doesn't fit and really isn't fun either.
Would love to see some more puzzles instead.

Content wise not a lot of scenes, and as a porn game not a fan of maya's situation.

All said and done, it's well written looks great and got me hooked.

If I were to suggest some changes I would say stick to puzzles or similar as minigames and remove the others ones.
And the main manu could use a bit of theming, minor but it would go a long way.
Besides that, looking forward to future updates.

Not really an NTR game but has some really cool mechanics that work great for voyeurism.

Some great writing and and solid art, overall really solid game all around.

Watching Ace Attorney isn't needed but I can see that it would help.

I played this, it was actually really good. The dialogue was funny, and the H-scenes were good. Looking forward to future updates. The only disappointment was that there wasn't much actual Maya content (yet) besides the tracker. Part of her appeal is her dialogue, so an H-scene with her with dialogue would be nice. But I'm sure the dev plans to add that at some point.

EDIT: They have since added that, and while it was quite brief, it was nice.

A very good game that has good writing and story, nice 2d and 3d graphics, collectables and minigames and of course some good corruption and ntr also. Enjoyed the devs other game also and excited to see what they do next after this one.

I recently played the Ace Attorney trilogy for the first time. So naturally i came here to see if there were any "parody" games and lo and behold i was blessed with this game. Creator really nails the voice of the characters from the actual game. The ntr/corruption/voyeurism of Maya is so hot.
