Mechanics You'd Like To See

Been wondering what mechanics everyone's found in random games that, if either you could, or if you could convince someone else to, you would make a part of an adult game.
It can be any mechanic you want, like a "harem collector meets Shadow of War's Nemesis System" thing, or so on. There's a lot of visual novels, RPGs, and "go find the porn" type games, so I'm curious what all people would want.

I kinda already gave away what I think would be interesting, just a Nemesis System type mechanic in a sandbox game. The characters change at times, whether from your, theirs, or another character's interaction with them and your reason for getting them on your side could be anything, from them being strong, to liking their personality, to just enjoying their appearance... Probably would end up being a text-based game, though.

On a more serious note, I like tabletop games. Some hate'em but I do like'em. Most sandbox games are like ABCD and no game over. The ABCD can be BCDA, CDBA and so on but what the player gets in the end is these 4 scenes. What I like with the random factor of the tabletop is that usually there are more things to discover and sometimes (frustrating for some) you don't get to discover them all in one session. If you want to see them all, you might have to replay again and again.
This is also true for heavily ramificated storyline VNs such as GGGB.
Anyway tabletop mechanics are not common. There are 4-5 of them in here. I'd like to see more.

I'd like more games that have randomly generated girls, just because it adds a lot of variety and the games that have rng girls are either really good, have a lot of potential or are bad, but the rng element is great. Might be one of the only instances were rng is good.

Honestly never occurred to me how far and few between tabletop-esque games are... Only two I remember seeing while looking around were a NTR-based game I played a small bit of that's got more of a Mario Party feel if you ask me (here's a link for anyone curious), and another one I can't remember too much of.

And you kinda have the same thing in mind that I did when I mentioned the whole "Nemesis System" thing. RNG girls, but you can at least influence the RNG in some ways, or sort of influence the girls to evolve or change their traits and such.

The only game that I know that influences the RNG based on your decisions is SMA and that game has become such a grind to get your level up, on my old safe I was like lvl 3 by Month 1 (note you have to play every day and that took about an hour to get to that point), not to reach lvl 2 in the new update is impossible, I've played for hours and it didn't increase at all.

The problem that was supposed to be fixed (slow progression) was worsened IMO.

Lemme preface this by saying that if futa is your thing, no shame, but some of us ain't into it. So, for the love of god, can someone invent a futa switch? Not only for games, but for H media in general. I can't tell you how much content I'm missing out on because I can't get off to chicks with dicks. A switch, option, or alternative images WITHOUT the wieners on women would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe it's time to start accepting female dicks then? Just eat around the dick :sneaky:.

But on a serious note, 2dcg or 3dcg games are hardcoded so rng or customizations are a big no go, it would require the prerendering of multiples variations which just makes the game exponentially bigger and inviable in general.

If you want to customize your experience stick to 3D or 2D games, those have more leeway to character customization in general.

So.. something like Breeding Season, or something more sophisticated? I am not familiar with SMA.

Lemme preface this by saying that if futa is your thing, no shame, but some of us ain't into it. So, for the love of god, can someone invent a futa switch? Not only for games, but for H media in general. I can't tell you how much content I'm missing out on because I can't get off to chicks with dicks. Honestly? That's waaay more complicated than you allow. It's not just a simple matter of "visually removing the pickle". If the game has futa as a primary component, then futa is likely baked into the story and dialogue. So now you need to change dialogue too. And if the premise of the world was too correlated with futa, then at this point need to write a whole new story.

And there is another concern. If you're a dev, and you're making a game with heavy futa themes, you expect that most people who dislike the niche will avoid it like the plague, without considering or looking into what "options" you provide. So it feels almost like a waste to de-futa the whole game, when you expect those who strongly dislike futa not to even try the game to find out you could.

I'm aware how unrealistic and how much effort would be required to implement something like this, it was more of a fantasy of having a magical switch that removed all futa from what I'm playing lol.

However, there are certain games I've played that have futa scenarios that could've been turned off w/o much impact. I've seen switches for scat and pregnancy, so I'd like one for my distastes too lmao.

I mean, that's fair, as far as wishes go. Hell, I'll say that having a "futa switch" as you call it is even reasonable, for games that only have a "path", or specific exclusive content that is futa themed. I am an advocate for having as much customization as possible for the playing experience.

Having said that.. I am developing a game that very heavily features futa, so I am afraid I can't give a futa switch for that one lol. Although, I intend to give futa options, for the futa lovers. Hey, customization is customization.

Customization is king. Even small things that might seem trivial mean LOADS. Another thing that's a massive plus for me is a stat screen, or somewhere where I can see how much I've done of X thing. I don't know why, but seeing the numbers change and increase, especially reflecting my characters current state, is one of the biggest turn ons for me.

That's a very good point, actually. I was planning to track a lot of stats for behind-the-scenes mechanics to use, and for an acheivement system. But I didn't consider just having a progress page of "You've done X of X thing". But I do agree it's enjoyable to be able to track these things in a game with a lot of internal stats. And not terribly hard to create if you're already tracking stats anyway.

I don't like mechanics that disturb the flow of the story.

Sandbox games take to much clicking on random rooms to see a repeating event. This is not only boring but also disturbing the flow.

What I like are clear(-ish) choices with real consequences, including not seeing a certain path containing certain content.

I like exploration games. You know, like, when the overworld map is obscured and you find new towns, treasure, landmarks as you move about the countryside. Like the bit in Heroes of Might and Magic when your not fighting boring turn based battles. And sort of like the old Frank's adventure games where you go about town swap nude photos and such. Take all the stat grinding and replace it with hunting and looting mechanics.

I really wish to see more games with time travel mechanics. You know, go back and do things differently (e.g. with newfound knowledge). It's a shame because not many games actually let you do that, and I actually can't think of any "adult" games that do that.

Maybe I'll have to build this kind of game myself :unsure::giggle:

Time Loop Hunter has some pretty great time travel mechanics. You repeat the same days over and over again, hoping to change things to solve mysteries and progress to more days.
