I read one review saying it was "bare bones" and disregarded it thinking, "That's usually how games like this are, it can't be that bad."
The other reviewer was correct, I apologize.
- It felt like randomly clicking around with not much feedback.
- There was one stat, "strength" that you just level up by training
- You can level up in the game but seems to only increase stamina and health
- There was the village where you can buy maids or prostitutes which was disappointing because one of the prostitutes was one of the characters I was hoping you could take back with you
- Raiding the village didn't make much sense to me. So ... who are these women? Does that affect who's available in the village or is it just yet another separate pool of characters? At one point, it kind of felt like Pokemon where I was going "Damn, I didn't want that one. How do I release this one?"
- Only sense of direction was the journal which was basically "Defeat this monster. Okay, now defeat this monster."
- Scenes just felt so disconnected. No real build up. No progression. Just straight to it. I don't need a soppy story but I need some sense of progression, otherwise it just feels like randomly clicking around to watch shorts clips of porn when it'd just be more satisfying to just look up the video at that point.
In short, all of that can be summed as "bare bones" is right. That word gets used so often that it's easy to disregard when it's actually accurate.
I guess you can say this game is still early dev but judging by the framework that's already laid out, I just can't make sense of what the vision is.
