So. I was just sitting and bored because of this pandemic and thought about looking for some new or old games to play.
Since we're lucky enough to have a Filter option using it makes it easier.
My question is: What filter do you guys use the most?
Lets ignore "Recent updated & Sort by Names" since that doesn't represent the overall status of the game
Tags, Engine, date & Other prefix are mostly determined by the users preferences so I will exclude these.

Instead let's talk about these.

Between these 3 choices. What do sorting filter do you use the most? & why?
Between these filters you wouldn't expect such a huge different between the list of games but
for example Summertime Saga if you go into Liked sorting filter it will be the 3 most liked games on the site, but going for Weighted Rating it won't even be on the first page, in fact it's on page 3

Views, Likes & Weighted Rating are factor's we use to determined if the game is worth playing but there can be noticeable disparity between games between filters even the similarity of the filters

I don't think any of them are that useful with the tag system being the way it is. If you're looking for femdom games for example you'll have to crawl through pages of vanilla games that might have one "kind of" femdom scene. Without a tag exlusion option you also get tons of games you have no interest in, i.e. sandbox games if you don't like sandbox games.

Out of the three metrics, I think only Likes are a somewhat good indicator if a game is good, but even then, I've played plenty of games with low Likes that I loved, either because they were relatively new or because they cater to less mainstream fetishes.

I filter for Completed games more and more often, but I pay almost no attention to how good or bad a game is rated and don‘t filter for that at all tbh.

Without a tag exclusion option [in the Latest Updates section], you also get tons of games you have no interest in.
This is true. Unfortunately, it will never be implemented. The stance on F95, put simply, is that the tagging system cannot discern between optional and non-optional content. Thus, if implemented, it would filter too many results. (I happen to disagree with this.)

Among those three options in OP's question, I like using the Weighted Rating myself. Views tend to show older, more well-known titles and thus you cannot see newer items. Likewise, Likes tend to skew to things towards older, more popular items with tags I generally dislike seeing (such as Incest titles). I'm not kink-shaming; it's just not for me. Weighted Rating, on the other hand, can show a variety of items from many ranges and age. Even very low liked items can pop up there due to its weighted nature. Thus, I find it the most useful metric among all of those.

None of them. I only use tags and status (to filter abandoned games).
When I suggest a list of games to other people, I may sort them by likes though.

I only filter for Renpy and Unity games and sort by date. Yes, I check all listed games regularly. Yes, it's kind of sad.

I have become pretty good at quickly scanning games this way that actually interest me. Wouldn't mind a hide-option for (sandbox!) games, though.

All 3 of those metrics are shitty for determining the "quality" of the games. For one, everyone has different tastes. The high starred, higly liked, many reviewed games are just the ones with mass appeal.

You have to rub some braincells together to really determine if the game is worth playing or not. Overview, preview pics, tags, and a couple reviews from competent reviewers if they exist.

At first I used all 3, to find obviously popular and well made games. I thought weighted rating was the least useful as theres not much separating shitloads of them.
After a few months cherry picking like that, I just look at Completed games now and check latest updates almost daily, for incomplete works that tickle my fancy.

To be honest, I usually stick to trending as those games are generally at a state that puts them above the average 0.1. However, I sometimes browse the newer games hoping for a diamond in the rough and if I like the artwork I usually give it a try.

I didn't know about the filter. I have time to browse latest updates once or twice a day and I only play renpy games. Sandbox immediately ruled out, if I wonder about other stuff I read a few pages in the game thread.

I don't use them much because they rarely change, the ones at the top will almost always be the main games that have been showrunners for porn games. Tbh I just sort by most updated as I'd much prefer a game that is updated than play a game and get blue balled for a year (Throwing shade at Milfy City). + What over people like I might not be into. A lot of NTR stuff can be seen on those pages and I'm not into it, but different strokes for diffo folks I guess .
