I think the point is that non-supporters have little clout when it comes to the more demanding complaints about the game. Armchair quarterbacking has a place in many arenas - sports fandom, as one example - but even in those places, the constant whiners are generally more noise than adding anything interesting to the conversation. At least for sports, fandom is directly related to investments: tickets, paraphernalia, cable TV deals, etc. So, there is a general interest at stake which can affect income+profitability.

In the case of funded game developers, the only sources of income are typically their patrons or purchasers. So, more strident demands and complaints from non-supporters becomes the weakest form of armchair quarterbacking, IMHO.
Also let's not forget. No one is paying for a product or service on patreon, instead they are choosing to support the developer into creating something.

I'm going to ask the most important question here do you think we'll finally get a fully animated scene this update even just one, it was one of the goals he set that was reached, if there is even just one scene that achieves that then this will set a new standard imo.

So what's your point? Icstor has to do and work exactly like DrPinkCake? It's his game. He's allowed to work as fast or as slow as he wants. He's allowed to live his life focusing on the game 24/7 or working on it in his spare time. It's his choice. Anybody not supporting him on his website has ZERO reason to bitch, whine or moan about how late each update is since you're getting it for FREE. And even then no one is forcing anyone to support him. If you don't like his pace then move on. I am sick and tired of seeing one bitchy post after another day after day, week after week about how people want the updates to come out when THEY say so. As if the game creator is required to work on their timetable as opposed to his own.

He has already said somewhere that full animations will not be included in this update.

Well that's honestly disappointing considering the goal was met during the development of v0-5 and it's been almost an entire year since then but luckily this game has top tier animation compared to some others so it's nothing to get upset over, that just means now v0-7 definitely needs it since it will absolutely be over a year since that goal was reached.

It's a Patreon project. Funding milestones are bullshit boondoggles to get more cash out of people. Whether you like Milfy City or not, whether you're okay with the delays or not, whether you like the character selection for the next update or not, and so on and so forth, the very nature of patreon means that most projects are built on a house of mirrors. If that fully animated scene is coming, it'll probably be one scene, and it'll be as late as humanly possible in development.

Just look at Summertime Saga which puts out a worthwhile update twice a year at best, or Where The Heart Is which lengthened the development cycle from once a month to once every six to eight weeks under the guise of greater content per chapter while still treading water on storylines, or Something Unlimited which went from monthly updates to every second month and has consistently failed to meet the projections set by the guy in charge of the project with missing content that is never discussed, game breaking bugs which would be impossible to miss in testing and missing artwork, or Seeds of Chaos which suffers from poor game design and too many cooks leading to stalled plot development and inconsistent content delivery.

Patreon is an inherently flawed way to fund a game as with no one to enforce deadlines and limitations, games are prone to feature creep and creators just doing whatever they want to squeeze blood from a stone. Keep your expectations low and be happily surprised by the outcome no matter how good or bad it is.

Ah, yes... $40,000 per month would also make me have a lot of stress :)
I was gonna let this comment go but I keep coming back to how absolutely ignorant it is so I'm just gonna ramble about it to make myself feel better. I don't expect this genius to understand what I'm saying here but perhaps it will help to inform someone else.

This comment shows that you're not an artist, or at least, you've never tried to make a living as one. When you make a piece of art that you're potentially going to get paid for, but only if people like it*, that's way, way, *way* more stressful than making the same piece of art if you expect to never make a dime off of it. The higher the expected payout, the higher the stress, because the more that's at stake if you fail. It's why I personally only sell my erotic short stories and I only write my real passion, fantasy novels, for free. I don't want the thing I enjoy writing most to be ruined by the stress of trying to make sure it's something the market will enjoy.

*There's also whether you get lucky on the marketing dice as a factor: One good thing about patreon is that if you have an established base of supporters, you don't really need to worry about screaming into the void and hoping that anyone hears anything about your product at all, you just have to worry about your existing base turning on you and dropping pledges en masse.

(Actually getting that base of supporters in the first place is another story though and is very much dependent on the roll of the marketing dice.)

That is a fair point but this is actually porn. It can be said that porn is an art I guess. If these were all renders of people with their clothes on and no sex involved. That would be a form of art in a sense. But no one would support him on Patreon. This is straight out porn period, not art.

Bullshit arguments about merit aside, all the problems someone producing "art" (whatever your definition of that actually is) are also problems that people who make porn have, whether you work for a studio doing big productions for DVD, make hentai or 3D renders to put on patreon, writing erotic stories to sell to magazines or on the kindle store, or you're doing camshows trying to get tokens. Actually worse, due to all the extra social stigmas around the sex work industry.

The reality is that if you are a patreon or not, the developer does not care about your opinion while you continue paying, I remember that in the last update there was, there were also many problems of delay, and in the last delay there was no information and a part of the community demanded information about the delay and the release date, and since there was no information or responses, the Patreons went to ICSTOR's discord to request information and the only response they received was to ban it toxicly, the administrators laughed at the people together for another 5 patreon more, hoping who else could ban, they also banned me because I told them "because they were so toxic and ICSTOR gave no information about anything". "

ICSTOR is a developer who always gets bored of his projects every time he gets bored, necessarily ends. (In case anyone doubts, I invite you to try their other games)

PD: but the good thing about all of that is that after that update, I canceled my support and 10 months later, nothing contained.

Artistic work is different in the way that all jobs are unique and have their own special challenges and rewards. I never said that artists are or should be specially privileged compared to anyone else.

After endless waiting and disgruntled pages from members, I decided to bite the bullet and throw myself into this rumble.

First of all, like many hundreds of the members here, patrons or not, I too, loved ICSTOR's story-telling, the renders and of course, the scenes. This post, not being a review, I won't ramble about the good bits any more than this. What I do want to comment/critic is ICSTOR's handling since Nov-2018 of this game. I'm not a patron of his but I'm a patron of couple of other games, so any vitriol on that part is a dead end. Anyone working tirelessly without a breather even on something they are passionate and care about a lot, can eventually get burned out and deserve time off. That being said, even considering that, I have to admit that he seems lousy and bit unprofessional. The latter, only because he has a lot of patrons.

Second, instead of being mum, he could come out and state the future of this game NOT least because this game _perhaps_ got him his bread-n-butter and all the fans on this forum and elsewhere. The game update % won't mean anything if after this or couple of updates the game gets canned. What could help him is if he's been honest about his release cycle.

Third, Milfy City isn't the only game that has great story line, character arcs and scenes that satisfy the fetishes. In fact so many trending games (Lust Epidemic, Where the Heart Is, A Mother's Love, Sins of the Father, The Way, Being a Dik, College Life etc.) are notch better in some areas, if not all, than Milfy City. For instance, LE has the best sound/animations and WTHI have best branched story lines/character arcs, in my opinion. In short, ICSTOR has his work cut out with so many tough competitors, so all his delay and diminishing patron/fan base won't hurt the fans, it'll hurt him in the long run.

It's sad to see this happen to one of the top games of its genre and like many other fans here, I'm disappointed to say he least. I best hope his update delivers and he completes this game with deserved endings for all his characters. Either way, I wish him luck for the future.

P.S -- Milfy City's Discord suck and yes, the admins there are rude and closed!
