No... no I don't think so... either that or they are maniacs for truely believing giving ICStor money makes him work on the game... reality has proven them wrong in that regard... several times already.
And No... the game droped from good to avarage... personaly actually even further.
At this point it's just so damn funny to read the comments here... this threads has partly better dialogues than the latest game Update ever had

I agree there are likely a lot of people supporting him who still like Icstor. But everything else you said is very absurd.
Icstor's stories were always the same generic incest trope of a teenager look alike protagonist who wants to bed the women in his family. There are way too many developers to count with better stories out there.
Also the same can be said about his renders. While from a technical point of view they are good he is bad at anatomy and posing the models.
Right now Icstor lives from his "past glories", being one of the first to bring western porn games to the internet.
When I first started playing MC the game was one of the, if not the, best. The renders looked awesome, story was fun and well the animations were brilliant.
Now however, with all the delays I get a Duke Nukem Forever-flashback.
Even when the update will be published, in the mean time a whole lot of devs and their games are evolving into something MC will not (never) achieve.
Can't say people didn't warn him.

I agree with the first part but reject the later... he may be one of the first Devs that mass produced Western porn games and shared them on the Internet... but he started only after a community had already formed

If the lad is living from his legacy then why does he continue to grow. I thought his past games were bang average but the concepts and decent models were the hooks - Milfy City has blown up to be arguably the biggest adult game out there along with likes of Summertime Saga and DMD.
As a Dev he aint changed that much but that's the issue. People expected him to... why? because hes gotten a lot more support from OTHER people. I gotta say I do understand the sentiment that its face palm worthy how much moral high ground pirate site regulars get when it comes to white knighting over other peoples expenditure. Shit on the game, shit on the dev but when they parade as SJWs over Patreons (ie not them) then its pure cringe.
Still with these long delays naysayers should seek out as you said the better story tellers out there. In his absence you see Radiant fast pace march its way to essentially replacing Milfy City with as the game of choice with these types of renders albeit much better storytelling (and its only on its first release). No point the same people coming here on a regular basis just to harp on about something which aint gonna change just because they rant on a site they use to not even pay for the games in the first place. Its not healthy and its creating these needless quarrels as its agree with them or get on the defensive vs the people who don't agree and rinse/repeat till some poor mod has to come in and clean the mess. If this was less common then people would easier see that he said himself he got writers block with the project and an overwhelming desire to start another project (likely rushing MC to a close in about 2 updates) but instead people just see pages on whinging routinely which isn't informative or even constructive half the time reading some of them.
If were talking past glories then we should be talking its tradition he gets bored, rushes out an ending and moves on but that's NOT what people want with MC. So whats the solution? force him to keep creating content for a game he is struggling to come up with ideas with (as he prefers focusing often on new ones... ie not more content for your faves from this game hence he has gone as far as a neighbours route vs say youngest sister getting more content despite the demand for it) or let him do as he desires? Id say personally the latter as like the vast majority here - im not paying for his work. I aint got the right to demand he work more on the project as im not supporting it but sure as hell aint gonna use the faux argument of 'but think of the poor patreons' to justify him working on the game more even if im sure we would all like that to happen. Its a game we all enjoy hence its so popularly discussed here and why tensions always get so heated because they WANT more content for it specifically.

I am not saying he formed a community but if we go back to the last decade of XX century or the first of this one we will pretty much only see japanese porn games reaching the world either via fan/machine translations or some company licensing the game for western markets.
There was a huge vacuum at the time and he was one of the first to help fill it and he grew a sizeable fanbase because of it.

Main problem is ICStor himself is not coherent with that... noone would have been surprised if he had just droped the project after 0.5... nor would have anyone been disapointed (aside aformentioned Patreons).
But ICStor likes the free money to much and keeps the game "alive" with fake news (70%...80%...).
And that is undebatable both an unfair and unserious behavior for a Dev with his experience in the field
The first Western VN ever was "Sim Girls" back on Newgrounds... and that's how it started for our community... Flash and HTML games... at times QSP or Rags (but I am honestly not sure when they started to appear).
One of the Latest early competitors was RPGM...the first RenPy game I saw was years later (around the time crowd founding and Patreon came into the game)
And ICStor appeared around the time those systems had been self established.... back on Newgrounds a Dev could only gain experience by makeing games and get feedback on their Projects... at best a Like was the currency they had been supported with

I think most of his patrons are just sponsoring because they don't remember being his patrons . I only recently found out I'm still donating to a dev. and I haven't played their games in years.
And no, I don't follow up on this thread in case a new version drops, but because it's so damn funny to see the replies. It reads like a mystery-novel, has a lot of cliffhangers and drama also.
