Mindstorming ideas for any kind of entertainment

Everyone here knows lots of games and the ideas of the mechanics among the games created. The idea is to mash up two random media, and somehow create infinite variants of said media. I have some ideas of combination that could be interesting:
  • Erotrap Sweeper + Tacticsweeper - the rng mechanic of getting loot of typical roguelike (how do I embedded game name to link?)
  • Since there's the idea of love hotel + becoming janitor in hospitality industry + there's game called viscera detail cleanup = make game out of that, perhaps?
  • Interspecies Reviewers + The Wandering Inn + Delicious in Dungeon + Dungeon Toilet + topics covered in Positech Games = A tale of ragtag misfits that somehow influence the entire world?
    • Erin of The Wandering Inn manage to influence Liscor with the "No Killing Goblin" rule
    • Stunk & Co. personally review each race/species idiosyncracy that somehow influence the society they reside
    • Laios manage to retire and be ruler of the kingdom underneath
    • Dungeon Toilet give us entertaining history of sanitation.
    • Make it interesting and fun, make a comic/fiction/game/anything, make it more viral than Influenza!
  • Make the lore alive, make em living, make em relateable, make em enlighten of something. Fun still number one.

Not sure if I understand the question 'how do i embedded game name to link' correctly, but you simply highlight the text, that is supposed to be linked, choose the 1732458538746.png insert link function and then paste the link into the appearing dialogue 1732458608752.png .

As of the mix of games and mechanics: If a mechanic works in one context, there is no guarantee it will work in another as well. Mechanics are often embedded tightly into the rest of a game and while technically being identical, there are thousands of examples where the same mechanic fails big time in a different context. Looking at your list I feel you are more thinking of cross-overs lore- and story-wise, than actual mechanics though.

A lot of your words are non-defined as 'viral' or 'entertaining'. Those are hefty personalized words without a common definition. There are games that one plays only when the mood is right and others one can play anytime for example. Mood might have a bigger influence on how you perceive the entertainment factor of a game than you might realize. This is especially true for games with a strong emphasis on story and /or lore.

for the embedding: you always have to find the link.
for convenience (or not) when you search in latest updates, then from the search result mark the title text and copy, inserting that into your post already does the formatting. Downside is it then typically comes in bold and big fontsize
example:
The Last Sovereign

Dungeon Toilet give us entertaining history of sanitation.
also now I feel provoked to talk off-topic about the big disappointment that are Last Sovereign's sanitation mages.
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

So, I'd welcome any game telling us the history, techy-stuff and whatnot about sanitation. As long as it is fun.
(I used to have a book, "Das Scheißbuch", it was a book about shit and sanitation. Very interesting and also somtimes funny. but I have lent it one too many times, do not even remember who did not return it.)

That's unfortunate the book you lent never return, heck even punishable by crime in times like Roman Empire. Let me try embedding with this reply: Erotrap Sweeper <--- how this looks? I actually know by using preview, and not use forum often.

Now you point it out, maybe I should chuck any emotive/YMMV keywords. Maybe making a story, then adapt it into analog format, see how folks react, then adapt it while keeping everyone know the goals? This giving me vibes why intellectual property copyright exist, in addition why solo-dev that can timely send their work on steady time garner much respect especially if folks find it fun.

I very much liked Goeffel's example, how things can backfire in different media. In a regular story you would dismiss the notion of 'missing stuff' and fill it with your own phantasy and imagination. That doesnt really work the same way in games though, because you might have created the expectation of the player to prepare for a big boss now or a special area. Not delivering on this in a game will hurt your product on a different level than in a book or magazine.

And yes, having the story ready before surrounding it with a game, is almost essential for story driven games. It is also why many projects that try to publish chapter wise fail, either because they cannot keep the audience enough in suspense between chapters or even worse allow the audience to decide the story development.

Basically someone need to get their efficient arsenal of narrative hook, line, and sinker. Anyone that read many medias can tell whether something will be good, or something snag and pull the entire props down toward the stage. Internet just make testing ideas easier so that any potential snag can be nipped in the bud.

I have this feeling if I am a janitor tasked with clean up; whether its a band ransack a hotel room, someone get murdered, a very sticky orgy, or even cleaning up adventure dungeon, all compressed into one thing: Clean the mess, after given the green light. Though few will involve reporting the nature of the mess. Pretty mundane topic regardless of age rating, which another kind of factors when tweaking with story.
