1. What is this?

A text-based management simulation game project, inspired by the likes of Rimworld and EraMaker games.

I choose to do it in Unity because I dont want to write code in EraBasic...
But I'm no artist, so the game's UI will stay mostly text-based.
Also I'm no writer... yep you heard it right.

Lastly, I am not, and will not be making money with this personal project. I do this for my personal enjoyment, and have been working on it on my free time for 2 years now.
I've taken the liberty of using other works assets (Spine animation assets from Blue Archive, Nikke, BrownDust2) and other people's AI generated images (mainly from RisuAI character cards).
If any of those creators or right holders wish for related content to be taken down, it will be done.

And also, LLM is used to generate in-game text descriptions, and is used for translation (from chinese to english).
So please ignore any nonsensical text that you see... they will be replaced with better stuff, eventually... or, if you're willing to help....

2. Story Setting

Current setting is a Blue Archive parody, and the timeline is set to the end of Utnapishtim conquest.
Instead of having everyone teleport back to Kivotos, player (as Sensei) is instead streanded on Utnapishtim with the crew and drifted into space. Player play as the Sensei, and must manage everyone's daily need and mental wellbeing, all the while trying to lead everyone back home.

NGL, the project is light on story (cuz I mainly use the simple story setting as a way to decide what system I'll be working on).


3. Design Goals
  • Management RPG: manage NPC's daily life and daily routine, manage daily income and resource consumption.
  • Sandbox Simulation: minute-based NPC daily routine simulation, and relationship change simulation
  • Turn-based combat with a bit more player agency
  • Moddability, by loading JSON document on game start (in the spirit of Rimworld)

4. Demo:
  • download the package and play (password: era)
  • does not require, and shouldn't require internet access (unless I accidentally build the dev mode...)
  • default resolution is 1920*1017 (1080p windowed). Dragging window is permitted, but there will be UI deform.
  • supports English and Simplified Chinese (can be changed in main menu, default is SChinese, but the buttons for changing languages should be intuitive)
  • most in-game windows can be closed by mouse RMB
  • default background color / text color might be blinding, they can be changed in [Preferences] - [Display Settings]

6. When will this be ready for release?

I don't know. The more I work on it, the longer my TODO list gets....
Right now, my goal is to finalize an in-game loop of "simulating daily life with NPC" -> "evolve relationship organically" (cuz this is inspired by EraMaker after all), and this loop is far from complete right now.

Until then, I will update the project's status every month.

...there was also an itch.io page for this project, but it was long outdated, and it was a SFW version of the game.
Until I hit a dev milestone, I dont want to keep track of multiple builds of the project, so that page will not be active.
