Ren'Py - Completed - Mist [v1.0.3] [395games]

IMO this is probably the best harem VN that I've played, dare I say even better than Being A DIK, Summertime Saga and What A Legend! which is saying a lot. Wasn't a huge fan of the art style at first but it definitely grew on me as I continued throughout the story. Sex scenes in general are pretty hot and well made (even better than most of Subverse's Pandora scenes since not all of their fetishes landed on me personally) despite being short and simple. I liked its inspiration from early Silent Hill and Resident Evil vibe to it and the story was surprising engaging and didn't drag on too much. My only nitpick is that I wish it could've focused more on building more relationships with each girls rather than focusing more on survival tactics. But yeah, other than that this was a pretty solid adult VN. Mind you all that I'm not even a huge fan of its genre but I would be lying to you if I say this was a mediocre game. Will definitely looking forward to 395's next game called Children Of Morn. Highly recommended.

So yeah, this game is great. One of the best Ren'Py games I have played, and something that can be appreciated even for someone who normally doesn't prefer VN's, like myself. Mist is the best lewd VN I have played.

The visuals are the strongest aspect, having a distinct artstyle, a great ammount of animations and rendered scenes and a unique atmosphere of "mystery". The writing is decent, and not overbearing, despite the game relying on some well-worn tropes underneath. Mist breaks new ground in the genre of adult games, by featuring a likeable protagonist, and the female cast isn't too badly written either. Despite the simple mechanics of the game's "mystery", it still does the job, and serves it's function in driving the plot well enough. The gameplay is not complex, but is at least engaging enough to keep you occupied between events.

If I had to find the biggest criticism for the game, it would be that you can still see the seams of how it was put together update-by-update, with new gameplay systems, mechanics, and fundemental improvements being layered on little by little. Having only played the finished game, those seams do make for a bit of awkward pacing, with the early-game feeling especially monotonous. But at least all the events still serve the story, so it isn't too bad.

Despite the spooky presentation, Mist is an atmospheric, well animated work that skillfully walks the line between conventional erotiscism and engaging presentation.

Overall - on of the best adult games I've ever play. Engaging, fun, logical (mostly) and complete. I my taste, if there will be some content after game end, it will be better. Some sort of narration about near or far future of characters. But it's very good as it is.

I've seen Mist among the top rated games for years and I finally played this after seeing it was completed with the latest update. Thank goodness, both that I played this game and waiting to do so after it was completed.

The visuals are quite different from other games here and it took a bit to get used to but the dev made good use of the art style. I got a feeling of suspense whenever the camera would pan to a new location. The bgm also adds to the feel and I appreciate having it in the game. Found it a bit odd however that the animation of objects held by the MC are just floating meanwhile we get to see his arms and the rest of his body during sex scenes.

The sex scenes are short but the animations are well done. The movements look good and the way the girls shake when cumming is pretty hot. Though personally it's a hit or miss, some scenes I just skimmed through while others I took some time with. There's honestly not much variety in the scenes, all the girls have pretty much similar kinks and dynamics with the MC.

But that's okay for me because midway through I got more invested in the story than the sex scenes lol. The story really went beyond my expectations. I thought it was just going to be a survival-mystery holing up in the woods waiting for rescue. Instead we take matters into our own hands as we go through the magic and sci-fi developments in the story. There were a few times where I thought, "Oh this feels like it's going to be close to the final battle," but then we get a new revelation that there is something bigger going on (Of course I knew at that point it was only partway through the story but if I played this as updates released I would have thought that it would be ending soon). Fortunately the grind and exploration isn't that bad and the timings line up with the story progression.

Overall, it is a very solid game and it was worth my time to play through.

A stunning, beautiful, cinematic, well-written kinetic visual novel .

I can "sorta" see why it is rated so highly. But apart from being a visual spectacle for my eyes, the overall linear nature of it (and lack of meaningful choices) just made me drop the game halfway through.

Very impressive game. From the stills I wasn't sold on the artwork, but seeing how well-animated it was quickly removed any reservations I had. Overall this is a pretty solid harem game, although the survival elements are somewhat simplistic and don't add much beyond padding its length. The length-padding is also done through a complicated sci-fi/occult story that seems very typical of these sorts of games.

But I think my main complaint about Mist is that it does have some very long, dull segments where the games becomes less about the harem stuff and more about being a sci-fi VN where you and your girls are unraveling mysteries and fighting an enemy force. These sections are still interspersed with new sex scenes but unless you really are drawn in by the story (and by AVG terms it's not too bad) it really ends up feeling like a slog to get through them. It's a small nitpick for an otherwise great game, but I think things would've been better if occult stuff were more in the background as context for the slice of life / character development stuff that people are actually playing the game for. Again, a lot of games have super-complicated padding on their plots but this one stood out because you can't just skip through the story as easily, you have to actively engage the exploration/survival stuff.

tl;dr summary:

+ Amazing animations
+ Girls were pretty well-written overall
+ Survival/RPG elements were simple but easy to navigate. I wouldn't call the systems grindy or punishing - they're just a mechanism to pad the runtime.
+ The overall plot was neat enough
- Long stretches of playtime focused on the survival/exploration stuff rather than relationship-building.
- The anime-style character designs were a bit jarring at first

I finished the game, and had a great time.

Let's start with what interests us most in a porn game .... The models and the quality of animation. This is the first big point of the game ! The animations are fluid, the loops are well cut, the facial expressions are successful, so it will be a good 5/5 on this point.

Now, the story.
And bha it's the second strong point of the game! After a few hours, you are as curious to discover the new scenes as the rest of the story. It's understandable, full of twists and turns and not limited to a simple "MC lives with his mother and sister, and must get the best grade in school by fucking the whole town".
The characters are also well written although I wish they were a little deeper. At some point they are nothing more than members of a harem, and are devoted to the MC

The gameplay is a bit redundant. The interactions with the girls at night are limited to 1 sometimes just for 5 lines of text, the exploration phases become too repetitive, especially in the tunnel. God I hated this exploration part.
The grind is also annoying, although the feast mode solves this problem. Also, I don't like when a porn game allows game over. It adds pressure when you are there for the story. For this point it will be a 3/5 because it is not catastrophic and my judgment is maybe a bit too subjective on this point.


One last concern I had with the game, the h-scenes are too vanilla. There is a little bit of male dom and a scene with urine, some scenes that are a little bit out of the ordinary but nothing incredible.


In the end, it's a good game that I recommend to everyone. And to play with the incest patch, of course !

Short review: A very very very solid porn game. Everything from writing, visual and of course, the sex scenes are just overall super solid.

So this games premise is not uncommon among porn games, basically a guy is stuck in a house with a bunch of beautiful women, but the story and characters, while still are walking talking archetype, are still very lovable and charming and the best part is that the protagonist isn't a blank slate whose personality is "FUCK WOMAN" he actually talks and feel like a character.

Now the sex scene. I am bias here because all the fetish that is presented within this game is what I personally like, which is more being the top and like women be more submissive but not going overboard making the girls feel like whores. If you do not like that, then I am sorry but the game ain't for you bud, BUT if you like that while still not go full creepy sadistic rapist, then this game is PERFECT for you.

I haven't even mention that the animation and visuals are STUNNING, the animations aren't stiff back and forth motion like many other 3D erotic games are, its actually fluid with proper motions but still using realistic skin instead of smooth anime skin.

Overall this game is amazing and I am looking forward for their next game.

An enthralling and really compelling experience, one of the best games I've played.

The main reason to play is probably the sex scenes which are animated and really well done, the art style isn't my favourite but it works really well.

Surprisingly the narrative and characters are even more enjoyable than the sex scenes, the characters all feel like unique individuals, each has their own story to tell and fit into the overall narrative very well.

The overarching story is great, a bit of a survival horror feel to it and the game in general make it stand out from a lot of the other games on the site.

The gameplay itself is solid, nothing too original or unique but engaging enough that it doesn't feel like a chore or too grindy.

One of the best things though is this is now a complete game, with a start, middle and end, you can sit down and play through it all and get a full narrative experience which is great and the story itself and the ending in particular do not feel rushed or truncated. Really quite a refreshing thing to experience.

A masterpiece, it is incredible how it surpasses all the renpy type games that are on this page. It has a great design that caught my attention from start to finish, all creators should learn from this subject. the scenes are very good, the atmosphere together with the story is quite original, the gameplay is very varied. If I complained about something it would be that I would have wanted more scenes with Noreia and Lily. Possibly some boss battles for each section would give more variety to the gameplay. Also, it is not clear to me why the women did not transform with the mist. But they are just suggestions, the game is really good and I would recommend it to anyone.

Absolute fucking banger of a game with a ton of content. Not really a 3dcg fan, but this was done really well. 10/10 harem route, very immersive storyline, decent soundtrace, top tier characters.

Having played quite a lot of different games here, It makes a world of difference when the sex scenes have some spice in the writing and Mist does it well.

The art style took a bit of getting used to, but once you do the animations are excellent. I'm not much of a horror person but I'm glad the game didn't really lean into jump scares or anything, it just created a somewhat eerie atmosphere.

Of course, we can't forget that a lot of games get abandoned in the middle and this one didn't and had a satisfying conclusion that didn't feel rushed.

An epic, well-thought-out RPG VN in RenPy. Loosely based on Stephen King's "The Mist" it goes a different direction and has some fantasy elements, fights against ghostly enemies, and some of the BEST lewd animations (with appropriate sexy sounds) I have ever seen in any Adult VN.

Good:
Amazing animations, great use of sound effects, later lewd scenes have belly animations for penetration (very nice), and the story overall is astonishingly good.

Just 'OK':
Personal kink preferences aside, sometimes the sandbox gets in the way of the story.
Late game, a different locale is a bit off-putting until the end.
Typos are not prevalent, but word use is sometimes way off (synonyms or nearly identical words with completely different definitions).

In General:
It's well crafted, especially if you install the MOD (see spoiler).
Some players may encounter certain fetishes/sex actions they will likely wish to skip (speed click through).
It gets bloody. No gore, simply inferred gore with blood stains/splatters on environmental objects.

Good Game. Amazing Animations. Would be a 6-Star if not for the need for the mod to play it in a reasonable amount of time and the kinks I personally do not find enticing - at all - but that's just personal preference.

It is a fun story to read through and is it relatively well told. The interaction with the girls is usually lighthearted and mostly sexy. I say mostly because for my taste the is a point it takes a turn toward male dom a bit too much for my tastes. I'm not a fan of Sims style animation but this one makes up for that by telling a good story. I recommend this.

First of all I was kind of debating with myself what score I should give this VN. While it definitely brings unique models and a good story but where I was hyped for every update at the start this I became less enthusiastic towards the end.

To me the story is just a bit too long whole cave saga felt a bit redundant. At some point you have seen the only so many positions on the for characters and it becomes stale. It's a porn game after all.

Another thing is the animations especially at the start were very slow and it all felt quite clay-like.

This changed near the end but still not for the majority of it.

Still considering the landscape out there I would have to give it the 5 star score it deserved, even if I was no longer looking forward to the last version near the end. I will admit that the last act was a good way to finish things off, just before that there was quite a boring drop

This game is fantastic. The story is one of the bests I've seen in an H-game, I really like the characters, and the H-scenes are pretty hot as well. It's like comfort food for the heart. Having finished it now, I feel a strong sense of loss. The same you feel after reading a good book or watching a good show. Hopefully the creator will make more marbles like this in the future.

The entirety of the game was great, the only annoying bit was 'grinding' the correct paths in some areas, but even then everything gave something for the effort. and oh boy, was it ever worth it! recommend 10/10. plus its one of the few actually finished games that is amazing.
