Many pardons y'all, irl kept me occupied, so i was unable to share the new version until just now

____________________________________________________________________
Now, without further ado, the update you've all been waiting for!

THE LAMIA TF(PART 1) IS HERE!!!
____________________________________________________________________

As stated above, the Lamia TF is now in! And oh boy, expect a LOT of jank and buggyness, in fact, the Dev has already released one hotfix, and I'm sure we can expect more than a few more throughout the week.

Beyond that, there's likely some other bug fixes or minor changes; but the main focus for this version seems to have been the Lamia TF, and getting that into a somewhat working order. Expect next version( whenever it may come) to likely be improvements to the Lamia TF with MAYBE something else, depending on what the dev has time for or if they get any artwork they might be waiting on.

Also also, before someone brings this up, the Lamia TF does NOT have a VISIBLE corruption bar like other TF's; not sure when that will be enabled. Also also also, the color corruption( the thing that usually locks certain tf's so a different one doesn't overwrite it) is NOT IN for the Lamia, but the game acts like it is, and that leads to crashes; unsure if that was fixed in this first hotfix, but wanted to bring it up.

If there's any other bugs y'all find, send them my way so I can forward them to the dev, OR join the devs discord/patreon and report them yourself; either should be fine.

As always, if links go down it means there's a hotfix

does anyone know a way to consistently make the lamia capture you? It seems rather random even when I hang around their tail for long periods of time, not sure what directly makes then decide to do it or not

I found 2 ways to do this

  • If you're not a flying monster, you can jump over their tails, this will cause you to fall onto them. Now wait while overlaping them and the tail will coil you. If you get coiled near the main body of the Lamia she will capture you. This is typicaly the easiest way to do it.
  • If you get in a space between the Lamias V movement, she might jerk her coils into a V shape of the other direction to catch you. This is typicaly easier done with flying but you can also do it by jumping above them and sometimes they'll do it.
Hope that helps, it makes it pretty easy to get caught and getting coiled even knocks off any imps that might have latched onto you

Man, call me a downer but I feel like this game is barely progressing in development. I remember looking at it a while ago (a year?) and the content present was pretty much the same except the Lahmia and second zone didn't exist, the imps existed in the backer gallery. I love almost everything this game is doing (not a fan of permanent transformations) so it's a bummer to see that this will be another one of those "come back in five years" games.

It's been like that since the start. The nature of having to make a ton of quality 2d art and sprites makes releasing new updates slow.

Okay but surely it doesn't take longer than other entire games take. And it's not even "quality" art, don't get me wrong it's not shit either but when I think of quality I think of PersonalAmi or Meruu's stuff, with backgrounds and such, not simple half-body shots without backgrounds slamming together. The sprites are pretty good tho.
I don't know, this just feels like "solo dev raking in patreonbux" sort of pace instead of "passionate solo dev trying to make others experience their vision" pace.

It's just one of those games where it's in development for years and years. You'll check on the progress after a year or two of forgetting about it and see that it's adding like... a new enemy or something.

I mean I kind of get what you mean. It's a bit weird they're making over 6k and moving this slowly, but it is what it is. They're dictating their own pace and their supporters are either okay with it or they aren't. There could be reasons we don't know as to why it's going at the pace that it is that would explain everything satisfactorily.

Maybe I'm just a cynic but the reason is probably that Patreon and similar systems do in no way encourage finishing a product. So the only real encouragement is a dev's passion for development and showing other people what they can do, which is a motivator sadly not many devs have. On the contrary, devs might think that finishing the product might leave them without a job because there's no guarantee people will like the next project.

As for supporters, that's just the system's next flaw. Cancelling a membership is a hassle, you have to go to patreon, get to your memberships, select the right one, answer or skip the survey and then you're done. Of course on the way all the options are as small and obscure as possible so you have to look hard to find them, a common design practice nowadays. Compare that to the inverse of signing up to someone's patreon, which is just two clicks (after a payment option has been added), and most people probably don't even give a shit about half the projects they support for 1 to 5 bucks a month. If Patreon shot every supporter an Email if they still support the projects they're subscribed to and unsubscribing is a single click, most people including this dev would lose half their income overnight.

At this point I'm not even criticizing the dev, but subscription based supporter systems in general. They're neat, sure, but god damn do they actively go against finishing projects.
