VN - Ren'Py - Money or Morals [Day 4.5] [Ronovan]

Good game was enjoying then downloaded the taboo patch thinking it was gonna add mum and sister content or something and really wish I hadn't, deleted it straight away, have no idea why it would even be made nobody wants that or should nobody SHOULD want that other than that the game is okay I guess

this game is unique.
the renders are top qualitiy, you can rly see on every singe scene, how much work the dev but into it.
and while the story seems somewhat generic at first, said dev does not try to reinvent the wheel, but take what is already there and but his own spin to it.
i think its almost impossible to play more then 15min off this VN without acknowledging how much talent the dev has and how much he tried to one up himself every single updade.
that beeing said: i think most negative rewievs came from people that downloaded a certain unoffical patch and let their emotions get the better of them. else this game deserves much more praise.
one negative: updates are coming out way to slow, dev is a sloth xD

PROS
+ Story is bit f*cked up, and yet interesting, but writers has to create some variety, otherwise this is going to be boring, and predictible ride for sure.
+ The game has animations for some non-sex scenes as well, and they add some depth to the story.
+ Sex scenes has animations, and some of them are good, they have potential, but they are in the need of improvements.
+ MC looks muscular, and not like some weak pathetic kid, which is refreshing to see in these types of games.

CONS
- Story is a bit too f*cked up, there is some serious sh*t going on, some serious crimes happening, criminal groups doing illegal stuff in the city, young girls getting kidnapped, drugs getting sold, and people dying in the blink of an eye, and some other stuff, etc, so consider before playing it, this is not a game for a general audience.
- The game is focused too much on casual sex that it makes it kind of boring, and makes it lacks variety, since there are no romance paths exist, and most women/girls MC have sex with are sluts who constantly have sex with other men, women/girls with partners, or husbands, etc.
- The forced test involving taking unknown pills, becoming the first human subject for it, like a human guinea pig, etc, and MC having no say in it was nonsense AF.
- MC is not really likeable guy, he is not pathetic, weak, or loser, but he has quite questionable mindset on a lot of stuff. And he is not really smart either, like how he couldn't think club doesn't have any hidden cameras, etc...
- Most characters face models doesn't look attractive, don't get me wrong they are not really ugly, but they almost look normal as SFW characters would look, and their body, and face models doesn't feel like suiting each other, so they need better, and more attaractive faces suiting their bodies, especially MC's mother is prime example for this, she has killer body, but her face is just normal.
- Some animations are kind of junky with weird physics. And some are too close or too focused on POV, like Morrigan's sex scene, she was pretty hot, but the animations were too close and wasted the whole sex scene, 3rd Person animations, especially not too close ones are needed, and should be more focused on.

VERDICT
The game has potential, but currently it's bit poor, hope DEV will improve the game for better in later updates, but for now I will be giving 2 star rate.

I don't usually leave reviews, but I felt like I had to in this game.
So let's get the "normal" part out of the way first:

-The animations are very good. That's the strongest part of the game. Certainly one of the best I've seen using HS.
-The renders aren't that great. Expressions don't feel natural and most of them feel wooden.
-The story is kinda generic. There's no real goal, you're just a rich kid who has it all and everyone wants to jump you. The english isn't great but it's understandable.

Usually, this would be a 3 star rating. So why 1 star?
Before playing the game I searched what the taboo patch did and decided it wasn't for me. However, even without the patch, the MC still gives heavily pedo vibes. Touching small girls inappropriately, making lewd remarks, etc. He just feels like a predator anyway.

Honestly, I'm surprised a game with these clear and intended pedo vibes is in this site when many more innocent ones were taken down.

In short...

I would have enjoyed the game more with an MC who didn't avoid and hate most of the game's tags, and acted in such a correct and moral way.
It's like making a chocolate movie for chocolate fans, but with characters who hate chocolate.

The game can be quite provocative, but whenever something good is about to happen the MC avoids the content.

The game has a lot of choices but most of them boil down to "yes or no" about getting involved with a character.
However, in some cases the game doesn't give you a choice, whether to accept or avoid.

and I feel like I've been playing for hours and hours and haven't gotten anywhere or anything meaningful or rewarding, it's kind of slow and repetitive.

The characters are pretty, but they're standard HS models.
The animations are good and get better as the game progresses, with longer animations.

But the game sometimes leaves me frustrated.

edit: I'm adding one more star because it's possible to have a better MC through mods, but I'm not giving it 5 stars because it's not included in the main base game.

I might be going to hell for downloading this.

Really looking forward to what else the Dev does besides this game. A game where there are no kids.

There's a lot of filler dialog in the game as far as I can see. The scenes with dialogs about the characters' daily lives are too long and sometimes I have to fast forward because the immersion reduces. It was also a bad decision to make the part of the dialogues that names the characters a single color because it makes it difficult to understand who is speaking in the scenes and it looks as if only one person is speaking. The scene transitions are too fast. During one event, it suddenly jumps to another event and it becomes difficult to follow the story. Animations and sounds are very successful, but I can't say that I'm a fan of this anime style design. The ages and designs of the girls are more daring than any other game I've seen here so far. So the limits of taboos are pushed. Although the main character depends on your choices, there are no moral values, and for many people this game will be disturbing from what I've seen in the comments. Since I don't care about such things, I like the game for now and will follow it if it continues to develop.

Ok I am going to admit that I did the mistake of playing this game with the taboo patch.

You are basically playing a child molester that is grooming 9 year olds and molesting them.

There are of course other characters that are not 9 to 13 years old but the sex predator, child molester vibe is just so pervasive in the game that it's almost unavoidable

If that's not your kink then you have been warned.

The story are good (not play the taboo version not really into that tag). This one of the best netori game out there that i can find (finally a netori game that did it right) . Music, animation and the art style is amazing. Non of the character are unlikeable, all of them are great.

Good ficion, powerful muscline mc character very amazing story for a VN. High variety girls and women.
Hope it will continue till the complete version as much as possible and waiting impatiently.

Here i thought there wouldent be any real loli games anymore due to all the drama theres been around that, so i dident really expect much going into this one, i always download the taboo pathes since i expect it to be incest related but this one supprised me by alot and ill just leave it at that but it was a bit over my limits.

As for the story it was pretty decent and i say was due to the forced shit, first a blowjob from some ugly bimbo i wouldent want to touch with a 10ft pole, next MC is forced to fuck over and over by some mafia idiots and you have absolutly no choices doing all of that, if theres one thing i hate its forced sex scenes, unless its needed for story AND you get revenge which you just dont here.

The biggest issue with that though, was that MC forgives them i mean how the fuck do you just forgive rape, its one of those things that should just never happen to an MC without the players accepting it by choices and ill bet there will be more of it later in story due to mafia saying hes the one...so by the sound of it this game might turn into a really bad game.

It makes MC feel like a submissive whimp with no backbone and i truely hate those type of MCs.

Girls are i dunno average i would say, they dident really do much for me and mostly due to most of them having big or huge tits and i just dont have that fetish (played without patch on first playthrough) and when it came to the lolis they also pushed my limits in the worng way, but i still added a star for having loli content since i wish more devs would make those type of games, instend of the standard big tit fetish shit.

Animations are around average as well.

For now i cant really rate it more then 3 stars, it got some pluses for lolis and minuses for forced sex scenes and to few or should say no choices when it matters and for MC being a whimp and submissive.

The writing and story are okay. More than anything I'm mostly a fan of the setting and the MC's "occupation" being the driving force of interactions.

This game really shines with extremely high-quality sex scenes, complete with fluid animations and fitting audio/sound effects. Definitely some of the best I've ever seen on F95.

The renders are very well done. Personally I vastly prefer HS2 over something like Daz or Koikatsu, and the models here are very well done. Every girl in the game is attractive. HS2 does suffer a bit in the lighting department when compared to it's competitors (a specific example being the gym teacher looking like a lobster), but it's nothing overly distracting.

Update cadence seems rather slow but for the quality of sex scenes you're getting I'm not too upset myself.

Excited to see where this one ends up.

I played through day 4 of Money or Morals.

The game has an intriguing storyline involving large-scale corruption on the part of several wealthy and powerful families, including that of the MC: though he has been raised in ignorance of his family’s underground activities. It hasn’t been precisely spelled out yet what all is involved, but drugs, sex-slaves and human experimentation seem to be in the mix.

There is a large assortment of female characters in the game, ranging from smols to MILFs. The MC’s default strike-range is from eighteen up, though there is a taboo patch one can install that alters that to include “questionably aged girls.” Even with the patch the player can choose to pass on any unwelcome encounter—I think there is only one non-optional sex scene in the game so far—but in the patched game the MC will be thinking lewd thoughts about the smols, even if the player doesn’t allow him to do anything about it. I recommend against installing the patch unless that sounds fun to you.

Graphically the game is low-to-middling HS, that starts out fairly rough—especially in terms of scene lighting-- but improves over time. The animations are better than one might expect from the look of the game.

While I did find the story intriguing, and am interested in seeing where it goes, overall the game offers a fairly average experience, so I am giving it three stars for now. If the ongoing story doesn’t disappoint, perhaps I will revisit this later.

There are no character that I don't like design-wise, even the old one like Alexandra looks good.

I thought the Taboo patch is needed because of the incest but wow. I did not expect that.

What I want to say is, I'm going to hell. 5 Stars.

Animation: Very good quality, varied models and good motions
Scripting: They don't come off as robots which is always a plus
Story: Nothing ground breaking but engaging enough to keep you interested

I like how everything is your choice. You can access any of the scenes but you get to choose which relationships you want to develop. But nothing so far is locked behind stats limits or blocked by other relationships. No grinding necessary here

Game is good, but the content drip makes it average in my opinion.
Though I'll keep the 4 stars just because I really like the setting.

Story and HS graphics are nothing out of this world. But the game is very erotic and has some very cute LIs. The progress of relations, the build up and even in scenes where there is nothing too explicit, the dev manages to make it very erotic. Animations also take a big role in that, they are fairly well thought and done.

There are LI from very young looking to old so that's the first thing to bear in mind when you consider trying it. I like it so that is definitely a plus for me. Game is censored by default, so if you are into taboo make sure you download the patch.

Other than that, the amount of content of this Day 4 update leaves a lot to be desired. Especially knowing HS renders are not complex to make, and it has been the work of 1 full year and $24k...
But hopefully this is something that has been occasional, as this update which was slightly smaller in content, has taken as far as I can see, the same time as the previous 2 updates.

The game starts good.
There is a certain underaged girl theme that remains mostly teasing.
Early on every sexual interaction is by players choice.
But then the tone of the game shifts completely.
After a forced sex encounter with one of the side LIs, the MC gets drugged and blackmailed into fucking whores for a mafia boss.
They basically rape him until he is out.
No player input. And afterwards he forgives this them, again without any player input.
Absolutely failed in my opinion.
Disgusting and really a shame, because of the good start.

Giving Money or Morals a 3.6 rating for now. It has a lot of promise, but is extremely short.

++ Great animations
+ Fun and well made characters
+ Lots of love interests

+ A somewhat lighthearted story, but with a darker twist
+ Some H scenes are available from characters the MC has history with so the story isn't glacially slow

-- As mentioned, story is very short (I think I played 4-5 hours total)
- Progression with some characters is very slow (nothing but handjobs by Day 4, and others no progression at all)
- The MC is a bit of a weak character, for having a strong family, and for the physique he has (seriously muscle-bound)
- The game has a TON of possible LIs, which is why progression is so slow with the game being this short. Right now it's really just a "teaser" of a game.
-- MC is used for a forced sex scene by a powerful character, ends up forgiving them ~2 days later after no apology was made, and nothing was done to make up for it. Again - weak character on the MC's part.

Hopefully progress on development speeds up, as it would be fun to see where the story, characters, and scenes go in the future. But I get the feeling this may be a slow-burn dev cycle and take many many more years to finish. Given that the Sucscribestar account is pulling in over $2k per month, I'd expect to see much faster development.

Just wanted to give a fair warning for anyone actually looking to try this game.

The renders are good, animations are pretty nice, scenes are plentiful and above average, and the story is decent.

However it leans a bit too heavy into the "loli" side. There is a Loli patch which I haven't played, and even without it, I felt a bit too uncomfortable with the whole ordeal.

This is not "aged but petite looking" lolis, or 15 years old loli we are talking about (although there is definitlely content with those aswell), but single digit age girls. The white hair you see in the banner is one of those. There is no explicit content so far with any of those (without the patch), but the vibes and sexual tention / thoughts / coments are there

Again, the game itself is fine, above than average, there is no undenying, but I just wanted to throw that out there so it doesn't catch anyone by surprise.
