A really good game, just not right for me
Moonflower Princess Cornelia follows a relatively common and proven concept for a H game, rpgm, magical girl and corruption, nothing wrong with it as it worked really well for a lot of other games.
The game clearly doesn't take itself too seriously, scenes often have jokes in them, and even the setup itself is cliche at best and it is self aware (altho being self aware doesn't make you instantly good and subversive), you better not go into it expecting too much of it, it's good for what it is, but you wont find any kind of deep meaning (it is a H game after all I guess)
I think the game looks really good, the story can still keep you into it, the combat has at least a bit of depth, but probably too easy, at least it felt like it, and it features a world that at least looks like it's alive
Now I think the game isn't for me for two main reason, the first is the story, while it works for what it wants to do, I still think it's too lengthy at times, and then try to takes itself too seriously or not enough in the wrong moments, the second and main reason for me if we talk about it as a H game, the corruption.
The game goes with the true and tested lewdness that once you reach a cap, you can break it with an event and see new scenes, with our heroine personality becoming more "open" let's say.
Now I don't have any issue with that kind of corruption, but along with your corruption, when you break a stage the whole world itself gets more corrupted, and I think the part I liked less is how it feels like the world become more sex driven faster than your heroine, while at the same time, new corruption stage add new event to ones that already existed, but also feels like it's adding too little new ones, it ends up not feeling like you got corrupted that much, as everyone is openly having sex everywhere while your event is locked up to the brothel.
All in all, I do am judging the game more on its H aspect than story or gameplay, as most of the time when I try a new game here's it is the part I expect the most out of, because outside of the H, the story and gameplay are both fine and with a fitting corruption for me, I would have enjoyed myself a lot more.
I will still leave a 4* review as in the RPGM category, it sets itself higher than most, but in a vacuum I would probably give it a 3*
(This review was made way too late into the night, hopefully I didn't repeat myself or made too many grammar mistakes that I did not notice)
