Version: Moving Down (Complete) by Miron HFG
Having now played all of Miron’s visual novels - starting with the still unfinished The Renaissance, then Vicious Circle, and finally Moving Down (exactly in reverse release order) - I can say with certainty: Miron is a master of his craft.
Although Moving Down was the first part of this trilogy (and maybe we’ll even get a fourth entry, as I’ve read), I liked it the most. The image quality may not be quite as high as in The Renaissance, and the female lead wasn’t as attractive to me as in Vicious Circle. But the consistency and pacing of the story, the sheer amount of text and content, and above all the numerous branching opportunities for the player - sometimes just small nuances in text, sometimes completely new scenes - were perfectly executed. In my playthroughs I kept discovering new things, and I loved that. On top of that, there are nine endings to uncover: one early ending and eight in the final stage of the story.
Chronologically, the novels go: Vicious Circle → Moving Down → The Renaissance. But it doesn’t really matter which title you start with. I myself began with The Renaissance - probably the least favorable one to start with - but even that wasn’t such a big issue. In each of these novels you’ll meet familiar and new faces. The storytelling stays consistent across all works. That said: if you don’t like cruel, inhuman, femdom-driven erotica that dives all the way down the rabbit hole, Miron is definitely not the right artist for you. Personally, I rarely used these novels for "pleasure". Instead, I was hooked by the sadistic, merciless mindfuck Miron’s works created in my head.
If I could give Moving Down six stars, I would do so without hesitation. The consistency of the storytelling and the inclusion of some not-so-pretty female side characters with fuller figures made it stand out from Vicious Circle. I also want to highlight the music: not intrusive, atmospheric, often beautiful, and well-matched to the scenes. It added a lot of value to the novel. Unfortunately, due to the game’s length, the soundtrack did become somewhat repetitive - but that’s nitpicking at a high level.
⚠ Minor spoiler section about endings
In the discussion thread I read comments that there is no truly "good" ending. I agree. My soft heart would have liked at least one path where John and Lisa can live peacefully after their escape. Or an ending with Mistress Maria, where John remains her slave but at least receives real sex and some affection from Maria from time to time. Or maybe an ending where John is caught while escaping with Lisa, but because Maria still has strong feelings for him, she can’t completely destroy him - instead she enslaves Lisa as well and pairs them together (as was done in Vicious Circle). Or even - though I know it will probably never happen in a Miron novel, and in the case of Moving Down couldn’t happen anyway since Maria is a main character in the trilogy - an ending where John takes revenge on Maria. Because let’s be honest: the Maria character is a cruel, sadistic, merciless, heartless bitch who doesn’t deserve to come out unscathed in every existing ending.

Suggestions for improvement:
- Animations: Movements should look more natural (sex scenes, whipping, defecation animations).
- Facial expressions: Could be more varied.
- Sound effects: Urination sounds like a running shower, fart sounds for defecation is not totally wrong but definitely a rarity. In general, the sound effects need an upgrade.
- Assets/Textures: The castration visuals look simply awful. Better models and textures are mandatory here. More variety in stretch marks textures is also needed, since whipping is a core element of these novels.
- Interaction mode: The sudden switch into a different interaction mode - where you have to click on-screen elements (like with Dora) - should be clearly indicated. It took me a while to figure out what to do. Honestly, I don’t think these interactions add much value.
- MC name: In all three novels, the protagonist's default name is John. Using different names would make it easier to discuss the MCs in reviews about the trilogy and help prevent confusion for some readers.
