I thought it was just a variable that modifies friend=sister, but the patch is actually the whole script.
It means someone should change the words in the last update

You couold be right but old patched saves can fuck up your game

Only 4 people need that patch and I would say that the other characters are just progressing the plot for the 4 main characters.
