Before we get into it - the influx of BBW content I reviewed led to someone linking me to this game by Ashley Lynn. Ashley is an independent BBW pornstar who, as she started, created her own visual novel.
STORY
A cheeky BBW takes you to a bar and if you play your cards right, she will give you the night’s treatment of a king. That’s all the story in a nutshell and for this purpose, it works. Sure, I would have loved things to be fleshed out more. But it’s probably best to play this game one-handed.
That said, your ‘Girlfriend’ is actually a girl you take on a first date to a bar. The title gave the impression something taboo might happen, but honestly it’s just a big girl looking for a good fuck and getting some. And that’s fine, although it could have been presented a bit clearer.
The scenes follow up logically, and although they won’t go in on why Ashley gets all hot and bothered, it works well to sell the fantasy. Sadly, they don't tell you Ashley's an internet pornstar, which could work for all kinds of crazy plot twists in later stories.
PRESENTATION
Curious detail - Ashley is the star in her own videogame. The developer is the model of the game, which is unusual but refreshing. The black-haired, green eyed star is very much a BBW and she has to be in your taste group, but for the purpose of selling the story, her authenticity helps.
Most of the game is backgrounds with sprite photo overlays of Ashley. It works, although I would have liked a bit more attention to the graphical detail. It's a great idea that actually works in telling a story, so I would have loved for Ashley to act a bit more. Sure, it’s a pr0n story. But selling the fantasy well makes it all the better.
Intimate scenes are a different ballgame altogether. The game pops into video mode where you get to see a fullscreen POV scene with Ashley. The sounds and sights really draw you in, and it begs to wonder why sound wasn’t utilized more in the game. Ashley has a pleasant enough voice and it would add to the realism.
Overall, it works, but feels rough around the edges. It's a good enough product, but with enormous potential that isn't tapped into yet.
GAMEPLAY
It’s an average VN, with choice paths that eventually lead towards three outcomes. The idea of picking your way through a date with choice-based system is nice. You can mess up and lock yourself out content, so you’ll have to rollback and replay a bit to see everything.
OVERALL
It's more of a tech demo than a full fledged game, but works to sell the fantasy. I would love to see an update or rather, a remake that takes full advantage of Ashley Lynn being available. If you do a bit of research to her catalog, there are so many wonderful stories she can tell. That is, of course, if she's up for developing them.
Hopefully AshleyLynn picks this up with more care and quality, she's onto something here.
