I've already had an argument about this. It's not that you wear out your keyboard if you write things out in full. Just because an acronym is well known and normal where you live doesn't mean that everyone else understands it.
You spent money to buy your keyboard... use all those keys. It's not like pressing fewer keys will make your keyboard last longer. But at least you'll make yourself understood by everyone. SS is a really bad memory for us. When I read SS, I get the creeps.

Good luck in the war on acronyms. Today's younger generations are ALL about the acronym. I even use them sometimes, but I try not to since I find their over-use to be a bit low brow (as in, one every 5th word is over the top).

Phones don't help much either. They actually promote the use of acronyms way over what forums do. C'est la vie!

Good thing Trope's a good enough writer to not over-use them in the game.

I can truly understand how that makes you feel, and I will, in good conscience, make a point to avoid using it. At the times I used it, I never really gave it much thought regarding the feelings it could trigger in someone, besides what I meant it to mean.
