Just feel like the scope of the plot exceeds the game. If it had stuck to simply managing the dorm I wouldve enjoyed it more than the whole scifi subplot, but I guess like that other game with the redhead LI sister on a boat the medical angle was needed for the censorship angle xD.

I really like Kiara's story line for instance, which is alot more down to earth and credible.

It depends how you look at it. The way I see it, the story is the relationships with the girls, and the plot outside of that is secondary - it's there to fill in the gaps. If you're looking at that being the main story and the girls being secondary, then I can see why you'd be disappointed at it.

Mate, the "story" is the backdrop of a rather in-depth telling of the creation and evolution of a large polyamory relationship. The backdrop is there to offer some scenario, to give it some structure outside of the really important thing that is the relationship between them.
I think that you are playing the wrong game for you. From your comments, you are not a fan of large Harems, this is one of those. I will not presume to tell you what to do, but, my suggestion is to think deeply if you are in the right place.
Peace :)
Its more about the scope widening a lot as the story progressed, and being dissapointed to find itll be years before some of those plotlines get resolved.

I also prefer a bit more slow burn with a few LI's, which here wouldve been Olivia I suppose, and maybe Amanda.

Overal I preferred the pacing in Nana's Cottage, just my 2 cents. But im looking forward to future updates none the less!

Enjoyed the game so far, but surprised the central story has barely developed in its 3 year run. Could take another 3-5 years at this rate. Seems par for the course with these mile wide, inch deep Harems :(
Can I ask you what the central story is for you? It can be different for different players (for some it's the harem building, for others the Dorm per se, for others the cloning company, and for others the family building)

You complain about plot lines taking years to resolve, but then go on to say you prefer slow burn.
Do you not see the contradiction there?

You mention "Nana's Cottage", a game that famously was so slow burn on the title character that a warning was posted to the OP letting people know there was no sex with her yet. You prefer the pacing for that game.

What you're saying just doesn't make sense. It's all contradictory.

People come at the games differently I think. There are two basic types of players, IMO:

1) The aVN player, for whom the Visual Novel (the "story being told") is the most important aspect. The Adult content and relationships are secondary for them.

2) The AVn player, who is here not so much for a deep, engaging, thrilling story, but who likes relationship building, the cast of characters, and the Adult content more than anything.

Clearly the poster in question is part of group #1. Most of the rest of us are part of group #2. And I think Trope knows what kind of game he wants to make, and is keeping nearly everyone happy with his work.

Fair question. I guess it depends. It started out with the family building / dorm management, then discovering the relationships with all the new characters. Gotta catch em all gotta catch em all. But then the clone company increased the scope of the game massively, gave background to the starting plot etc. We werent in a small cantina in mos eisley anymore, we're trying to blow up the death star. If I then reflect on the time progress overall and having only seen a single DND game for instance, I dread to think of how long such plot lines could take to resolve.

I do gravitate to the classic structure of main quest / side quests, which I suppose is very antithetical to harem builders. Atleast if you look update by update, as core story progress feels slow out as you branch and explore the LI's etc. I dont envy you that challenge.

Not at all, because the core story progressed even as the slow burn took place. The slow burn can grow casually as things develop with other characters. Plot lines can overlap, reflect etc.

I enjoy relationship building games. Some games have very little plot, and are really just dating sims or fuckfests. But as long as the plot has stakes and progress, im fine with that. They dont all have to be grandiose opera's.

What I find a tad jarring here is that, the clone plot is quite grandiose, but the story progress and stakes I feel dont really mirror this.

You shouldn't expect too much drama; Trope has always made sure that any drama is solved reasonably quickly so it won´t drag the game down too much.

Thats a shame. Doesnt have to be anything terrible, but it adds some depth. I suppose drama between LI is difficult if when you consider forking and people not opting to engage with characters.

It has less to do with any potential forks (which would only be if the LI would be in a relationship with MC, they would still interact) and more with how Trope meant to tell this story. He never meant to go super drama, keeping it reasonably light.
I for one consider it one of the strengths of the game. Not everything has to be super dramatic with the drama dragging on and on. There are plenty of other games that already bring that to the table.

Ehi, a lover of intricate plots as well. I like to imagine a lot of scenarios where the story can go and sometimes I exaggerate a bit :ROFLMAO: like, you know, tormenting Trope to have a Heihachi Mishima cameo with Iron Fist involvement asd

But as others already told you he like to keep things simple so we have to fly low with our extravagant ideas. LBP is thing but we don't know yet if bad people as Jack, Erik or Ichigo will return. But Aruba will be the set for closing some routes and the introduction for many others: I can already fix for you the idea of uterus transplant, that will not happen. Trope already said many times that Olivia will not accept a operation with such shady features like that one: the patient will be Gavin and his lost arm, simple and clean ;)

Contrary to many other AVN I like the protagonist: he is a brilliant, yet still naive and inexperienced young man catapulted a day with a gun to his head from the tranquil prospect of managing a girls' dormitory to become the head of a multinational company immersed (until now) in highly questionable business dealings. But he reacts by holding his nerve and trusting both his instincts and his abilities, using every free moment to prepare himself to being tested in front of a whole host of economic, moral, and political interests. And when he knows he can't make it, he doesn't give up. Instead, he asks for help from those around him and is always grateful for what others do for him, no matter how small.
He's not perfect and never will be, but from season 1 to the end of season 3, I've watched him mature, and I have a great deal of simpathy for how Trope has shown us his growth. In this way, even characters with backgrounds very far from normal civilian life, like Amanda and Eva, can admire him and know they can count on him even in an environment they're familiar with but he isn't.
I've been eagerly awaiting Aruba for more than a year, not only to have the "summer love memories" moments with the two spy girls, but also to witness the various challenges that will transform a young man into a confident adult capable of providing for his family in a way that starting MC couldn't ever imaginated.

Then when Trope will make us die of laughter with his explanation of how 4 people who don't know each other (except Gavin/Aaron) ended up on the same beach in a tropical (and fiscal) paradise, I will be there in the front row, sitting on my chair, and drinking a coconut with a straw even if it will still be winter ahahaha

Trope always keep your ears open for us crazy dreamers :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

you pretty much hit the nail on the head with this overview of the story, at the start our MC was not confident at all, and slowly but surely he`s matured, now that he`s head of the house/harem and the joint owner of a company he`s got to show the girls what he`s made off, and also he`s got multiple babies and weddings to pay for :ROFLMAO: and through the guidence of norah and martha, he`s learned how to deal with company politics and ethics, aswell as family life and being there for his girls, honestly trope has built a MC and family that would die for eachother and i can`t wait to see what trope has planned for the future

Dont think hes shown much growth tbh. Having just played the whole thing hes a bit of a gary sue. He doesnt really develop much. He overnights his empathy after one conversation with Betty. Thats all fine, but I can appreciate growth.
