Yes you may have a point but there are good games that cheating happens where MC is not present and is still oblivious but not stupid or blind. It is not just about this game, except how cheating happens here, game is good.
Recently all the cheating games turns MC into stupid deaf and blind man like a child who has 5 years old mind and thing is in those games all cheating happens next to him. His wife not in his bed all night long even he see/hear people fucking and his wife opens door with cum in her mouth still nothing... and it pretty goes all the way till end...
If you ask me this is not just oblivious this is entirely something else and even I am someone who likes to play Ntr cheating route get annoyed and stop playing those games, that means something is really wrong here. The only thing that comes to my mind is that the developers can easily just focus on renders without bothering too much with the story that it makes sense or not. It does not matter as long as it goes.
For me these are good cheating games, recently played east block and MC's father fucked his wife in a motel, it was a great scene and it was a damn good cheating scene. MC may suspect but he was not there. Again, A Perfect Marriage, Exploring the Big Apple, Harmony Heaven, Burning Boundaries, RiseOfTheCrimeLord etc all the cheating happens normally and MC is oblivious and but not stupid.
I hope it changes for the better.
Thanks for the game.
I know what you mean, but I don't really like the idea of comparing different games... because everyone has their own way of doing things, and that's what makes them special. I understand that you liked the way those games you mentioned did things, but... I simply want to do it differently; I don't like those kinds of comparisons
So the thing with my game is... I like to approach NTR or cheating from a delusional perspective... In the sense that the protagonist might know what's going on, and imagines it's what he knows it is, but he refuses to believe it so much that his brain eliminates the possibility that his girlfriend is doing those things behind his back. I like to approach it that way, and that's what I tried to do here in this game... After reading a lot of comments, I realized I exaggerated quite a bit, like with the fact that the MC slept so much during the MC's POV in the cheating route... But overall, I feel like I captured the idea pretty well. Keep in mind that the protagonist loves Jenny so much, and he literally can't believe that such a hot girl is his girlfriend, and that they're even getting married... Everything is going perfectly, but then he suddenly feels or sees something that implies it's all going to fall apart... His brain, as a defense mechanism, automatically denies what he saw and thinks it's a different scenario. That's why I wanted to show that the MC was so unaware of everything that's happening... Even though what's going on is completely obvious. For example, talking about the "onsen" they went to... We, as players, see the silhouettes of what's happening. Those silhouettes are exactly what the MC sees. He's watching them have sex inside, but because he's so in denial about the idea that Jenny would be unfaithful, he fills in the blanks with other ideas, like Lisa actually being there with Tyrone, and Jenny being somewhere else. To give you a concrete example, when the MC sees the videos Jenny uploads of herself shaking her butt for Tyrone, or taking pictures of herself in her underwear for Tyrone, I wanted to portray that moment as a turning point. It's like the protagonist had already suspected something and felt nervous when he saw Jenny with Tyrone at the pool, but he let it go. And when he saw the video of Jenny shaking her butt, he felt his worst fears were confirmed, but he decided (perhaps subconsciously) not to dwell on it and also let it go. I liked this way of showing things and characterizing the MC. And I didn't think I had to explicitly state something like, "and the MC saw what was happening but refused to believe it and ignored it." I thought it was better to leave it implicit
Now, I admit it all sounds completely convoluted, but that was the idea I had when I made the MC behave that way. I think it would have been better to be more direct, but at least the idea is clear... Though I agree that I exaggerated in some places like making the MC sleep through all the final act in cheating route
