Ren'Py - My Maid Dreams of Electric Sheep [v0.8.3] [dodongamagnifico]

Animations are great, like the setting as well. Also the characters looks great, design-wise. Did not expect to grind this much, but I guess it was just a part of the setting (thank god there are cheat codes). Looks promising.

Review of 0.8.3

Interesting game that is more like a spiritual twin to !Ω Factorial Omega: My Dystopian Robot Girlfriend, but with 3D models instead of 2D art.

Unlike Factorial Omega, the H-scenes require little interaction on the player's part, which makes it less immersive... on the other hand, the animation is much better and more fluid than most Ren'Py games and is a nice touch. If you love robo-maids, you'll like this. If you dislike slow grinds, you'll hate it.

PROS:

• Graphics are great
• Story is engaging and keeps you somewhat invested (a mix of Blade Runner and Psycho-Pass
• Jiggle physics and animations during sex are hot
• Some of the bg music is realllly good!
• You have a choice in narrative. Not sure the outcome for negative responses, but if you don't want to do something for the Doc, you can outright refuse

CONS:

• Lack of maid customization
• Photo system could use some more depth
• Sex scenes are just animations with no interaction other than speed (no kissing, sucking, foreplay)
• Working sucks, it makes the grind a chore
• Lots of grind
• It never keeps the laptop music on, so you when you return home, you always need to reset it

A Few Questions:
The pleasure meter during H-mode and during massages/petting... does it have a real impact? You can just skip to ejaculate and it's of no consequence to your MC (depression still goes down). Also, what use is the operating system? I guess systems are always "OK" since my maid is always up to par... and the Personality Trait Status changed to "Obsessive"... but an explanation of what it's for would be nice.



All in all, a decent game. Would love more customization in clothes (unless there are some and I haven't made it that far yet), skin, hair, and so on. Also, more interaction in sex would be nice. Finally, replacing Yui's narrative and abuse arc with a wellness check goes against the bleak tragic cyberpunk narrative it's trying to convey. Dumbing it down when the audience consists of adults looking for a porn game is really bizarre...

...Those things keep it just shy of perfection.

Don't even bother trying to play this without cheats. There is a huge, repetitive, boring grind just to even get to the robot. Then you gotta do it some more to get more money. Not a fan of VN but the story does seem a bit interesting, albeit a bit edgy. The scenes themselves are good but a bit samey. In my opinion it falls into the strange category of good but boring art. It's nice at first but once you've seen 3 you seen them all, even if the poses are different. Doesn't help that they are basically quiet and somewhat unresponsive. You might like it, but it just didn't do click for me.

I'm really liking this game so far, as of version 7.12, everything looks great, the variation and slowly emerging gameplay elements are interesting, and feel well paced as well. The art style and animations are also fantastic.

I don't like a lot of the 3D model games as they all look rather janky, don't bother with shadows or proper lighting or other stuff that really sets a scene properly. This game does that well, or leans into the "cartoon" nature of the appearance of the models and molds the environment around the model appearance instead of making environments and sticking the models into the environment.

The model interaction and movements are also really well done, there's good physics with the models that doesn't feel too wiggly or too solid.

I like the story, it's not terribly complex but it's enough to set the mood and make me get invested.

TLDR, the story is good, the game isn't too grindy, and the scenes are animated very, very well.

The game is fantastic, it has a good story and the grind is not even that much of a problem if you use the auto skip. The characters and ui design are also great, really help immerse you into the world
The best thing about this hands down is the animations, the small details of the eyes, cheekss and even just how each characters move is so well done. Every animations is well done, not just the sex scene, I love itvery much.
Still one thing that bring the game down is the lack of dialogues or even mentions after important events.
Example: I just wish the small talk feature get use more, so that the mc could open up more and grow as a person along with Ako as well.

Pros:

- It's an incredible game with an actual story that gets you immersed within;

- The protagonist doesn't talk too much but isn't generic either, personally, i think that's a great way to be original while also making you feel like you are in his place;

- The animations are great and are all voiced over, the dub makes an awesome job by not screaming much, making that bit more realistic;

- The gameplay is pretty simple, so if you want to really immerse in history, it is pretty easy while also being easy to log in, do your needs, then log out.



Cons:

- It's a bit grindy, it's not so grindy to the level that makes the game super boring, but it delays the experience;

- The story is slow, and to actually unlock other H positions, you are going to wait for a while.



For someone who likes things more fast or prefers games with action, this isn't for you.

This game is relaxing, made for someone who likes appreciating a story while also doing their needs. I'd give it 5 stars because of that, but if you aren't the kind of person to like this game, i'd give it a 3 out of 5.

Brilliant animations, that occur daily (best I've seen on this site). Almost unmatched storytelling and character building, most of VN's achieve this trough text. But this game, achieves this trough visuals, without audio or text lacking any bit. And finally THE MOST LOVEBLE GIRL TO EXIST!!!

Despite, it is still being a bit grindy VN game at its core. The grind, fulfills its purpose, making you connect to the main characters.

Pros:
* Nice animations - basic and hentai.
* Unique for a hentai genre slice of life cyberpunk with a touch of Beholder.
* More deep story and MC that 99% of hentai games ever had.

Cons:
* Progress is too slow, it's like you play for hours before new poses unlock for both - maid android and that one shop worker.
* Too dramatic for a hentai game, I would always prefer comedy over melancholy.
* Unfinished, has elements which are basically useless - like crafting and cooking, shop worker story line is dissatisfaction, the first thing you think when android maid ask for taste module while the first hentai service she does is blowjob makes you think that both will lead to something humorous at least but author digging deep in psychological problems instead of hentai.

It's more of nice game than nice hentai despite all hentai qualities. Sadness and arousal opposing each other and simply don't work together. I would appreciate at least a choice how to turn local events - to be able to choose should it be dramatic or not.

47/10 would rate higher if I could. Ui? Peak. Girl? Lovely. Wholesome plotline in a dystopian hellscape with a W reference in the title? You know it. Animations are good, wish there was handholding (there might be idk but I haven't seen it).

It has been said before, but I'll say it again: the story is good, the dystopian setting is perfect, the characters are very likeable. I have not skipped a single dialogue, because there's not too much chatter like other eroges, and the few lines around there are great to give us a better understanding of the characters and the world.

The MC is a rude, bitch-ass dickhead, but it's on point with his background and the dystopian/depressive setting.

I love that there's a lot of animations for a Ren'Py game instead of just static backgrounds/PNGs.

The maid is 10/10. I'm looking forward to the update on Yui's storyline.

The only porn game I've played with a story that I'm actually interested in. The characters are great, the world building is pretty damn good for a porn game and I'm excited to see more.

I recently played this and was surprised to see how deep the game goes. If you enjoy games where certain things impact characters, little things from how much you talk to your robot waifu during a period, you'll love this. The scenes are good, and it's actually interesting to try and get that one scene when you do a specific sort of actions. I love that actions seem to matter in this game, and having characters with not just good sex scenes but interesting interactions and development makes it all the better.

A wonderful game with a lot of awesome animations. I really look forward to seeing how the game progresses further. I really hope they hire a VA for future installments. It's unfortunate how grindy the game is, but using the cheatcodes makes it pretty bearable and a fun experience. I wish working gave far, far more currency to keep up with the demands and a steady flow of story events.

While there isn't the most content in the world in the game, the potential is there and the story managed to keep me engaged for the entirety of the currently available content. It at times can feel a bit bare bones and grindy to a degree, but Overall I had a good time and ako's personality honestly tugged at my heart.

Played v0.7.12 – the game is about a depressed man in a dystopian future getting a special android maid. The storyline seems to be about him mentally recovering while the maid starts becoming more human and their backstory gets revealed. It’s focused on character development and very slow burn and as a consequence not much has happened yet.
Without the cheats it’s extremely grindy – thankfully there are cheats and you can skip the more annoying minigames. Sure, the depressing slog to earn money and get through the day works great to get you in the mc’s mindset, but I still found it annoying.
The game’s main draw are the beautiful animations. For me the sex scenes were still kinda boring because they just consist of you choosing an animation until you hit ejaculate. Only two scenes I can recall had actual story elements and dialogue.
I mainly tried it because it had the bdsm-tag but was disappointed (though to be fair the tag seems to have been added by the uploaders rather than the creator). There is a single scene that counts and that is just you walking in on a tied-up side character who has some whip marks. The MC just gets to have sex with her.

The animations are incredibly good, it's pov, and theres a fair bit of choices i suppose. It is grindy as fuck though, and theres no plot twists or anything. You just clock into work, the same minigame everyday, to make money so you can buy some bullshit from the robot guy or for some kamasutra book. I also really hate that you can't help the shop clerk at all, trying to get her to come to your house always results in her turning you down, and even if you cough up 50 bands, she'd rather you just rape her and leave her to get tortured like huh?? I suppose they'll add that later on. The one thing i would ask the devs for is to just make the job pay more money, without cheats it's actually such a struggle to do anythinggggg

I'm genuinely impressed. The game has rather great presentation, the developer seems to know basics of cinematography and how to get your attention. And a relatively interesting setting (if a bit overdone).

Animations seem like they're from koikatsu so the game gets no bonus points for that. But the UI and general polish is very high. Even random side characters have great little life in their animations, a spring in their step.

The sole issue is that the progression and story are kind of dumb. It doesn't keep that initial momentum very high. Also side content is kinda lacking.

Also the game deals with its main topic of depression and suicide in a juvenile manner, aka the usual drivel of blaming people who have committed suicide for doing the deed. Don't engage in deep, tragic topics if you have no knowledge of it, and this game has none.

I love the premise, world building and the aesthetics of this game. The renders and animation are great, and the main girl is cute. My only gripe is that there isn't more content. But I look forward to revisiting this game after some time once it receives more updates.
