Ren'Py - My Maid Dreams of Electric Sheep [v0.8.9] [dodongamagnifico]

Checking the game after a long pause. It was one of the very few projects I was subscribed to, but unfortunately I will be canceling my subscription.

The censure in 0.8 patch goes way too far and, honestly, is ridiculous. The MC rapes Ako the moment she enters his flat, but won’t lay a finger on her during the week she spends in a comatose state. You still can buy sadatives to drug her just for fun of it, apparently it's okay to drug someone if you don't stick your dick in them afterwards (not a legal advise).

Also on the matter of dick sticking, the H scenes rework is CRINGE and PATHETIC, apparently touching your parthner with hands during sex is a sign of a DOBIOUS CONSENT, or even RAPE, therfore most of sex scenes were reworked so MC won't touch his obedient robot sex slave with anything, but his dick.

I’m not even going to bring up the removed Yui content, mainly because poor girl didn’t deserve such an evil ending to her storyline. Still, I understand why people are upset, her route made up nearly a third of all H content.

I’m extremely disappointed with where the game is now. It used to be one of my favorite projects ever. The developer once seemed to have a solid, focused direction, but after all the Patreon censorship, the game feels like a messy patchwork. The story barely holds together, and the remnants of cut content just make the flaws stand out even more. I want to rate it one star out of frustration, but that wouldn’t be fair, the visuals are still great, and Ako is still adorable, the new mechanics are being added.

Also I still have a bit of hope that Dodonga will take an example from other devs and creates an uncensored Subscribestar version or at least an anti-censorship patch so I can renew my subscription.

Warning. This game touches some real topics, that might be the problem in the future society for alot of people, depresion, su... thoughts and loneliness is a bitch.

As for the game, quality is just chefs kiss.

Relationship progresion is out of this world, really well done.
Main love interest is really well writen, dialogues are entertaning and feel like they have purpose, meaning and weight(no useless talk) really wholesome.

Art and expresions are amazing, they add ton of depth to the story, somethimes you can see that char xyz fights inner demons while being it this cruel dystopian world.

H scenses animation/sounds are thop notch i dont think ive seen better animations, really well done from face expresions deatails and sounds.

The only thing i didnt like was a little grind, but based on the story and world mc lives in it makes alot of sense and i didnt mind it that much.

I dont know about update schedule, ive played for the first time, this review is based on v0.8.9.

So in conclusion this game is a Gem , and dev deserves all the support, really talented and he knows what hes doing.

My Maid Dream of Electric Sheep is one of them.

This isn’t just a “H game.”
It’s romance, emotion, softness, and love.

Rarely see the focus being on one character but this just goes to show that it's just an underapriciated or underrepreseted genre, though perhaps one of the best. Or maybe I'm just not looking for them enough.

Interesting premise, came in expecting a short fap game (like most times im here), hooked me with actual story on depression and how to live past it. Great animations, can say the porn is actually good compared to other 3d animated cg I've seen. The actual life-sim game part is decent, but needs work and polish, it was fine at first but became very repetetive when I played it. Still rating 5 stars because this game has a good foundation and deserves to be seen. Worth a shot if you're interested.

I will not rate this game higher than this, because the dev removed a large portion of content and we got nothing in return. I have nothing against noncon or dubcon content being removed (is it even dubcon when its android?), but give us something in return, otherwise it's nothing but downgrade.

There is tons of dialogue with the convenience store girl which leads to nothing, zero H content, and even if there is some H content I have no idea ho to get to it, same with the book store girl.

Also there is too much grind.

Animations are great, like the setting as well. Also the characters looks great, design-wise. Did not expect to grind this much, but I guess it was just a part of the setting (thank god there are cheat codes). Looks promising.

Review of 0.8.3

Interesting game that is more like a spiritual twin to !Ω Factorial Omega: My Dystopian Robot Girlfriend, but with 3D models instead of 2D art.

Unlike Factorial Omega, the H-scenes require little interaction on the player's part, which makes it less immersive... on the other hand, the animation is much better and more fluid than most Ren'Py games and is a nice touch. If you love robo-maids, you'll like this. If you dislike slow grinds, you'll hate it. The story is... actually very very good and intense if you stick with it.

PROS:

• Graphics are great
• Story is engaging and keeps you somewhat invested (a mix of Blade Runner and Psycho-Pass)
• Jiggle physics and animations during sex are hot
• Some of the bg music is realllly good!
• You have a choice in narrative. Not sure the outcome for negative responses, but if you don't want to do something for the Doc, you can outright refuse

CONS:

• Lack of maid customization
• Photo system could use some more depth
• By the 100th replay of old-timey music, you'll mute it
• Sex scenes are just animations with no interaction other than speed (no kissing, sucking, foreplay)
• Working sucks, it makes the grind a chore
• Lots of grind
• It never keeps the laptop music on, so you when you return home, you always need to reset it

A Few Questions:
The pleasure meter during H-mode and during massages/petting... does it have a real impact? You can just skip to ejaculate and it's of no consequence to your MC (depression still goes down). Also, what use is the operating system? I guess systems are always "OK" since my maid is always up to par and I had food in the fridge for her... and the Personality Trait Status changed to "Obsessive"... but an explanation of what it's for, or other practical uses for it (like changing her personality or whatever) would be nice.



All in all, a decent game. Would love more customization in clothes, skin, hair, and so on. Also, more interaction in sex would be nice. Finally, replacing Yui's narrative and abuse arc with a wellness check goes against the bleak tragic cyberpunk narrative it's trying to convey. Dumbing it down when the audience consists of adults looking for a porn game is really bizarre, even if Patreon applying pressure was the reason for it... That said, the "trauma of war" story of the MC and how it ties to the Maid is pretty heartfelt. The ball dropped on Yui's Tea Party events is the only blemish (and lack of customization) for this great game... Hopefully future updates will iron out Yui's new story angle.

Don't even bother trying to play this without cheats. There is a huge, repetitive, boring grind just to even get to the robot. Then you gotta do it some more to get more money. Not a fan of VN but the story does seem a bit interesting, albeit a bit edgy. The scenes themselves are good but a bit samey. In my opinion it falls into the strange category of good but boring art. It's nice at first but once you've seen 3 you seen them all, even if the poses are different. Doesn't help that they are basically quiet and somewhat unresponsive. You might like it, but it just didn't do click for me.

I'm really liking this game so far, as of version 7.12, everything looks great, the variation and slowly emerging gameplay elements are interesting, and feel well paced as well. The art style and animations are also fantastic.

I don't like a lot of the 3D model games as they all look rather janky, don't bother with shadows or proper lighting or other stuff that really sets a scene properly. This game does that well, or leans into the "cartoon" nature of the appearance of the models and molds the environment around the model appearance instead of making environments and sticking the models into the environment.

The model interaction and movements are also really well done, there's good physics with the models that doesn't feel too wiggly or too solid.

I like the story, it's not terribly complex but it's enough to set the mood and make me get invested.

Great visual novel.
TLDR, the story is good, the game isn't too grindy, and the scenes are animated very, very well.

The game is fantastic, it has a good story and the grind is not even that much of a problem if you use the auto skip. The characters and ui design are also great, really help immerse you into the world
The best thing about this hands down is the animations, the small details of the eyes, cheekss and even just how each characters move is so well done. Every animations is well done, not just the sex scene, I love itvery much.
Still one thing that bring the game down is the lack of dialogues or even mentions after important events.
Example: I just wish the small talk feature get use more, so that the mc could open up more and grow as a person along with Ako as well.

Pros:

- It's an incredible game with an actual story that gets you immersed within;

- The protagonist doesn't talk too much but isn't generic either, personally, i think that's a great way to be original while also making you feel like you are in his place;

- The animations are great and are all voiced over, the dub makes an awesome job by not screaming much, making that bit more realistic;

- The gameplay is pretty simple, so if you want to really immerse in history, it is pretty easy while also being easy to log in, do your needs, then log out.



Cons:

- It's a bit grindy, it's not so grindy to the level that makes the game super boring, but it delays the experience;

- The story is slow, and to actually unlock other H positions, you are going to wait for a while.



For someone who likes things more fast or prefers games with action, this isn't for you.

This game is relaxing, made for someone who likes appreciating a story while also doing their needs. I'd give it 5 stars because of that, but if you aren't the kind of person to like this game, i'd give it a 3 out of 5.

Brilliant animations, that occur daily (best I've seen on this site). Almost unmatched storytelling and character building, most of VN's achieve this trough text. But this game, achieves this trough visuals, without audio or text lacking any bit. And finally THE MOST LOVEBLE GIRL TO EXIST!!!

Despite, it is still being a bit grindy VN game at its core. The grind, fulfills its purpose, making you connect to the main characters.

Pros:
* Nice animations - basic and hentai.
* Unique for a hentai genre slice of life cyberpunk with a touch of Beholder.
* More deep story and MC that 99% of hentai games ever had.

Cons:
* Progress is too slow, it's like you play for hours before new poses unlock for both - maid android and that one shop worker.
* Too dramatic for a hentai game, I would always prefer comedy over melancholy.
* Unfinished, has elements which are basically useless - like crafting and cooking, shop worker story line is dissatisfaction, the first thing you think when android maid ask for taste module while the first hentai service she does is blowjob makes you think that both will lead to something humorous at least but author digging deep in psychological problems instead of hentai.

It's more of nice game than nice hentai despite all hentai qualities. Sadness and arousal opposing each other and simply don't work together. I would appreciate at least a choice how to turn local events - to be able to choose should it be dramatic or not.

47/10 would rate higher if I could. Ui? Peak. Girl? Lovely. Wholesome plotline in a dystopian hellscape with a W reference in the title? You know it. Animations are good, wish there was handholding (there might be idk but I haven't seen it).

It has been said before, but I'll say it again: the story is good, the dystopian setting is perfect, the characters are very likeable. I have not skipped a single dialogue, because there's not too much chatter like other eroges, and the few lines around there are great to give us a better understanding of the characters and the world.

The MC is a rude, bitch-ass dickhead, but it's on point with his background and the dystopian/depressive setting.

I love that there's a lot of animations for a Ren'Py game instead of just static backgrounds/PNGs.

The maid is 10/10. I'm looking forward to the update on Yui's storyline.
