VN - Ren'Py - Completed - My New Family [Christmas Special] [Killer7]

I really wanted to play this game, but after 3-4 hours I find it really hard to continue.
And that's mostly for one reason: the MC.
I mean, the guy has absolutely zero character, no personality, his whole vocabulary is just "Uhm", "Sure", "What?" and "...". Or a combination of them like "Uhm... What?"
It bugs me that the guy can't articulate properly and that every little thing the girls say sets him off.
He never laughs at jokes or comes up with a witty retort or anything like that. His answer is always just "Uhm".
And then, of course, the girls always say "Just kidding", because otherwise the MC's whole world would probably collapse.

So why do all the girls want him? Simply put: all other existing men are assholes and only want one thing and he is the only existing man who is nice to them. (Haha ... sure, the nice guy gets all the pussy)
The girls themselves are cute and varied enough to be fun. Nevertheless, none of them particularly stand out.

The dialogue is somewhat okayish, for the most part it's pretty superficial and lacks any deeper meaning.

Renders are relatively average, nothing special, sex scenes are short and not very varied.

Starts good and makes you think there's is gonna be an interesting story (MC thinking about taking his own life), sadly this is not the case and quickly it becomes painfully predictable with no real choices, in fact, every time you have to take a choice the options could be translated into Option 1 :"you want to see this content" and Option 2: "you don't want to see this content" (most of the time this "content" meaning wheter you want to have some kind of relationship with a girl or not, and obviously you want to pick the first one since this is a Harem and even if you don't I don't think it changes the story at all). I only remember one time when you actually make a real choice, that time when you have to choose the way you'll be treating Tanya and that's it. This is one of those AVN where everything that happens to the MC is fking perfect for no reason, At some point I thought that maybe the MC did try to kill himself and this was everything a fking dream of him before dyingxD .

About the characters, MC is kind of an idiot, girls are average (a few of them have interesting back stories like Lucy but most of them are bad written)
About its music, I think there are only 3 or 4 tracks, I liked one of them.
About animations, Sex scenes are not that bad, even though there are a lot of them they are too short and they're all very similar.

I'm not saying this game is complete trash, it has its moments specially at the beginning. Sadly as I said before it was painfully predictable and repetitive which made it boring for me (IMO this is the worst sin of any game) also ...Did I mention this VN is fking long? (40hours+ I guess. Sadly filled with tons and tons of meaningless and unnecessary dialogs) So It became more like a chore. I stopped playing it at chapter 11.

Overall I'd give it a 5/10 only for those first 10 hours. It's average at best.

I really wanted to like this one. Tags are great, and the premise is decent enough. But the execution is severely lacking. This definitely suffers from pacing and editing, with far too much unnecessary bloat. On top of that, the ambiguous ages of some of the characters was disconcerting, and definitely contributed towards dropping this after several hours.

I think this game is the definition of an Average game, but gets really stale when you notice it in the end. This game is like every isekai anime out there, that follows a set of events, you know what will happen, and know that it won't be any good, but it's a comfort that you're used to. There are tons of similar games on this site that are all the same inside with different coats of paint on the outside, the only exception for this is it keeps its promise and gives some pregnancy content others sometimes avoid.

2 stars for keeping its promise of an expected Harem Game, but nothing unique or interesting when you notice its shallowness.

• Choices aren't really choices. It's either "More content" or "Less content" (This wasn't a huge deal to me).
• Humor wasn't my thing
• TON of grammar mistakes, but, to be fair, it's kind of on par with most games on this site.

Despite all of that, I was eager to continue after my first one or two days with it, so I guess it has that going for it. Additionally, to be completely transparent, I only played up to around chapter 7, I think.

3/5 for story, this is my reason why give 3 for most all aspect, since this is also what make it a heavy story line, so here simple one too cliche, cheesy and most of the story was easy to guess, there's nothing give me a head up or even make the story interesing yeah i know its harem but meh its too normal for me, only fiona n tanja part was im interested. plot was just fine nothing its really hard to get, well maybe back to the main course its a very linear game.

A solid 4 star game. It's pretty fun and the animations are good, but it moves at breakneck pace. I mean, your first day there, you've already got the first girl. The way you convince them is also barebones. You're literally just nice. You just smile, say some nice things, and boom, you're in. Is every guy in the universe just a scumbag? Is that why it's so surprising? I don't know. The actual dialogue is also a little on the not so great side. It's very basic without a lot of underlying meaning or context. The most you get is someone saying something a little lewd, then your character will go "What?" Then they respond with "Haha, nothing." I know the genre of game and that in the end, most people are here for the animations, but I just wish the story was a little more believable. Not just you showing up, throwing a nice word their direction, then you get with them. I am a good ways in, so I think I have a handle on the story. I'll continue and update the review should I learn anything that changes this. I like the game overall, it is enjoyable, but the things I mentioned are what knock it down a star. But, it's easy enough to ignore. For the most part at least.

I really love this Game.

The characters, the dialogue, just everything.

It's just nice having all the different kind of personalities. I don't get it how so many people suck at doing exactly this, creating interessting characters. And not only that. Even the designs of all of them are really nice. It's really refreshing not seeing the exact same model like in other games.

I would really recommend everyone to just play the game.

I'm pretty sure after a while of playing you will love the game. This and the other game of Killer7, My New Memories, are just really good and well written stories, with amazing characters.

And one last thing, and I say it without meaning it in any way negative, I love seeing the lewd scenes without them beeing just there for a quick fap. All the emotions, all the love, I literally can feel it everytime the MC is making love to one of his girlfriends. It's not just sex and I find it incredible to actually get the feelings easily conveyed. Not many games can do this. At least when it comes to AVN games.

Just love it and can't wait for the second part to come out someday.

From the first release to the last I hung on because world and story telling were great and the girls are so lovable. I adore this game with every ounce of my being. I have played games that are 60 USD that are not even half of what this game is. I hope anyone in the future that gets to enjoy the whole thing in continuously appreciate the effort and love that went into this project. Thanks Killer7 for a fantastic addition to my life experiences.

This game is excellent in my opinion. I loved the way it works, I loved the characters, the story and everything involved with the game. The only flaw I could maybe mention is the art style is not to my taste, but after an hour or so I got used to it and I got a really nice, pretty long game.

The dialogue was written like its POV by a 1st year psychology major.

Boring, Over-analytical, cringingly expressive, and... dammit i already said boring. The MC wins over all the girls in the game by literally being ... nice. Yup. That's it. He's nice. so every girl (and there are a lot of them) jump on his dick because they see how nice he is to every other girl in the game, and then they meet new girls, and ... well.. yup. nice.

That's it. Meet girl, be nice to them, plus one to harem, and maybe just maybe, you will get 2 sex scenes over the entire game. The main LI's of course, get most of the content. Several of the unfortunate girls get pretty much left out for the majority though. Pretty par for the course tbh.

Overall not bad if you skip the dialogue or go into it with a buzz and dont care.

The story is dumb. Your notMother leaves with your alcoholic father effectively ruining your childhood because he said he would kill you. Apparently going to police is not option. Then when you sit down with your notMother to have conversation about that, your notSister decides to be nosy and demnds to be part of the said conversation and if you don't allow it you can say goodbye to content with her.

Basically if you want to see the content in this game you need to be yesman forgving anyone and agree to everything like little puppy.

The animations are decent i guess but nothing to write home about. The girls are expressionless 3d dolls but i have seen worse.

There is always the good and bad with any video game.
Some of the characters can be a bit bland or not so attractive;
the same face is used quite often for the aunt, cousin, Ida's sister
etc. The oversized cartoonish boobs which I'm not a fan of
show up on some of the characters. The dialogue can be a bit
repetitive at times and I find myself some time skipping
it to get through.

The good. The ginger trio make this game really work,
Sandra, Lucy, and Alice. The Neko features of Lucy are a
plus, I like the animated movements during the sex scenes,
it has music [even though it's just the same couple of songs].
And the developer Killer7 finished the game through,
he or she didn't make excuses and abandon the game or
do something silly like make the last chapters of the game
multiple pages of text in front of an empty chair just to
get the game done and over with; like a certain game I recently
played.

Whoever Killer7 is this person busted their ass and
put out an insane amount of content to complete this game,
and didn't cut corners. They say respect is earned and not
given, Killer7 didn't bitch, didn't whine, didn't say woah is
me, didn't make excuses, but put in the workload and brought
the creation to completion, and that earns my respect.

So...the protagonist is a bitch. Great start. At least I learnt that right at the beginning so I had no hopes or expectations. Stopped reading the dialogues and the "story" completely after that though, that means don't take my review seriously. At all.

Protagonist.
Rough start in life, gets out of that, girlfriend cheats on him, he buckles up and goes back to his mother crying, mother who left him when he was 4 with his alcoholic father. Then you have to be nice to her if you want to see the scenes. And that's the way to go for every other character, apparently. The developer even tells you that the harem route has the most content, so you need to be nice (a good little bitch that takes the cactus up the ass nicely, without complaining) to get the content. Great. In a game about choices take the choices away from the player. Yes it can get better. A character can evolve. But first thing first, I don't give a shit. And secondly this is a porn game, harem one on top of that. I just picked the green options during the dialogues, and that led me to taking shit from some little cunt yelling at me, and accepting an apology, and believing an excuse the mother, that literally destroyed her own child's future, gave. I am fine. You even get "blackmailed" by your "new boss" into doing sexual stuff "for her". No. Just no...

Female characters.
Honey select. Plastic mannequins. Faces of supposed daughters, mothers, and anything past that, look exactly the same. Your supposed mother looks like she is a teenager. Same with all the other supposed adults. Their bodies are also pretty much all the same. Sorry, but putting a bigger pair of tits, or a different wig on the exact same doll just taller or shorter, does not create a unique character. That's not how it works. Don't know anything about them past what I read about the mother. Wouldn't touch her with anything but a fork, I will admit it easily, I did not read a single line of the dialogue past the "intro", so can't really comment on their personalities or "characters". I want to emphasise, that the mother is a piece of shit, no matter the excuse you cook for her, none of that matters. She left. They did not "get separated", she left him to rot. That's the information I got in the first few sentences and that's where I am going to go from then. Any dirty tricks in the "author's" cookbook to make her seem plausible after that, are meaningless.

Sex/animations
Eh.

All in all, I basically stopped playing after the protagonist folded. I am way too fragile for that type of thing in any story, but when it comes to a supposedly harem oriented porn game with a male protagonist, I am extremely not interested in playing as a pathetic loser. Don't have to role-play that. I play games or read stories to feel good, positive emotions, not negative. I am honestly trying hard to think about a single positive thing to say about the game, only reason I am not giving it just 1 star is that I held ctrl for the majority of my time "playing", and thus feel like I don't deserve to just "flunk" it.

Good luck with the next project Killer7, personally would love to see a completely different protagonist, but that's just me.

TL;DR Started out ok, but then added too much fluff with little actual content.
Game went from sort of good to the dumpster fire it is now. Unfortunately for many reasons this VN suffers from the typical problem of going on for too long. This is made worse by the fact that as chapters went on it turned from a bit of talking and sex scenes to a lot of talking and a few sex scenes in between. This would’ve been fine if there had been a point, but we instead got more of the same “I’m so happy, I love you!” said in a lot more words. There was also the promise of a darker or more asshole path that never materialized from early versions. It was evident that somehow even light BDSM got backlash for the author of the VN. The sheer number of characters with all of them and I mean all of them having to be collected is also part of the reason why some people hate Harem tag. I’d give it an extra star for variations, but some models clearly needed more fine tuning. I could go on at more problems, but then I’d be doing the same thing this VN did.

Let me start by making it clear that this is a really good game and its worth playing forr some people not all though.
So you might wonder why 2 stars and not 5? well ill explain that later but ill start with the good.
If you are into everything from loli to granny, from small to huge tits and want to build a full harem it might be a 4-5 star game to you, if you dont mind no real ending to the game.

But for those that are not, game can and will be a bit of a mess, it feels like the game was more ment to be kinetic then choice driven since if you dont pick the right LIs or all of them, storyline can be a real mess.

I do belive the creator did to much in a single game, to many LIs, to many stories, to many choices with relationships, making the work and keeping track of it all close to impossible which did hurt the game, unless you play it as a kinetic story clicking yes to all relationships even those you dont want.

In my play through story did get messed up where things dident make sense or dialogs that dident fit anywhere in the story and missing scenes with importen facts for the story, all due to saying no to the mother and Fiona and maybe Elaine and if you say no to Sandra it gets even worse.

The good:
Story is pretty good, its about MC being forced away from hes mother and sisters which he will return to and start to help and rebuild the familie for the better, there is ALOT of talk with every LI which can feel like to much at times but it still adds value to the game and at the same time makes it a bit drawn out as well.

It has a nice relationship build up with the LIs, so you get to know alot about them before anything happens, so its not just another fuckfest game and i like that, there is alot of LIs and i do mean alot and all of them gets a decent amought of screen time so its a big and long game which i also love.

As to the LIs they are all unique and with diffrent personalitis and all of them are good and feel diffrent, the builds are great as well since there are anything from very small tits to medium to big and even huge tits, the only problem is the big and huge tits are really only on Milfs and grannys which gave me some issues since i hate big tits but ill explain that in the bad part.

The Bad:
When i started i dident feel like being nice due to the story, atleast not stright away, so i dident pick Sandra at the very first meeting and that was the only chance you will have to be with her and that supprised me since shes pretty much a LI you HAVE to be with or game will be alot shorter and a big mess, so i had to redo and felt forced to pick her and be nice when i dident want to, she is a nice char and there is alot of good content that follows with her, but also alot that annoyed me like how game puts her as your number one girl when she was in the bottom of my list and one i dident truely want to be with.

Then the choices came for the Mother, Aunt/Granny all huge tits which i just cant do, its a huge turn-off to me so theres no way i can go into a sexual relationship with them, and that does mess up the story in multiple cases, you will start having dialogs that makes no sense like how the mother was told about your relationship with LU and more weird dialogs when you get to the vacation home, and all the familie barbarcues is apprently without you so guess you arent familie? ya it gets weird, scenes where MC say lets wait for Mom then Lucy steps in instend and you miss a babyshower due to not being in a sexual relationship with Elaine or Fiona not sure which, creators knows about those kind of issues as well and gives you the option to add Elaine to your harem very late in game to fix it, but i just couldent since i just dont want that kind of relationship with her.

It also annoyed me that all the fun stuff is based around Sandra, like when you start the relationship or she gets pregnant MC is part of telling it to the familie, but when it comes to the other main LIs its more or less skipped, and it really annoyed me how it was done with LU since it was a huge deal not just the relationship but also no one knew if she even could get pregnant not even LU her self, and once she does you dont get to take part in sharing it with the familie its all done off-screen which is a very poor choice in my mind even more so for a main LI and proberly the top LI for most players.
I can understand that kind of stuff with Maddie thats her personality but LU no it felt worng not to be part of so much.

So yeah thats really the main issue, storyline breaks and gets messed up, so you dont truely have a free choice with LIs if you want the full story, not sure why it wasent made so being friends would also give you full story, it would pretty much just be a few dialog changes and no sex scenes with Elaine and the other milfs.

The ending just ruined the hole game, if it wasent because i liked the game up to that point i would give it a 1 star, i picked show ending with the girls i picked which was all except mother/milfs/granny, and what did my ending show.......MC fucking mother and granny and elaine....i mean wtf i seriously saw nothing about the girls i did pick.....just a ton of days like "you wake up" "you go to bed" nothing in between, and no you dont even see the so called real ending (weddings) which isent really and ending, your left with nothing but a cliffhanger about all the pregnancys about how LUs kids will turn out and so on.

Feels like its made only to piss you off due to not picking a full harem when it only shows you the girls you dident pick?

Also the pregnancy part is absolutly shit in this game, sure they talk about it alot in dialogs, but only one or two LI shows a bigger belly at the very end out of the game.
You dont get to know anything about how it turns out like Lucys kids if they will be born with cat issues or not, so there really is no ending to this game.

The Average:
The animations are about average for this type of character style, meaning not great but still someting you can enjoy watching, they do get boring in the long run since they are really mostly the same over and over late in game.

When it comes to Virgins scenes, they did a pretty good job better then most really, sure there are a few that might be a bit boring since some of the LIs has lost their hymen in some way or the other, But there are atleast 4 deflower scenes that even shows a bit of blood, so they did think about it and made some good scenes which is great, they really put alot of thoughts into making the game, this is one of the parts missing in alot of other games.

Music is a bit bland and alot of the same, so again around average.

Finishing note:
I was a bit disappointed with the message near the end of the game saying my new family 2 will center around a full harem since thats how game was ment to be played, which does make you wonder why it wasent just made kinetic from the start.

Also think it will result in alot less support since alot of players wont be into eveything like loli/milf/gilf and flat to huge tits, alot either like one or the other but not all, including my self so i wont be trying out the second game.

But still good luck with the new game.

Easily top 3 visual novel of all time!!! Just a wonderful story full of sex, comedy, and family love! Best of all it has super naked ginger cuddle time! What more could you ask for? Most all the girls are great, but Lucy is one of my top 2 favorite characters ever and my favorite ginger of all time!

For me this game is definitely a solid 5.
Even though the animations aren't anything amazing, they're still good. They're not the main focus of the game, because it actually has depth. Aside from a few spelling/grammar errors, The writing is stellar, which is always important for me.
I like really being able to feel the unique personalities of all the different characters through the writing, otherwise it feels robotic and kills immersion. There's also a lot of character growth, they change for the better as the story progresses.
The story itself is refreshingly wholesome. I like how there's a balanced mix of everything too, as far as comedy, drama, light hearted moments, "romance", etc.
for those reasons, this game will always be one of my absolute favorites.

This game is great except for a few minor things. First There were just too many characters and most ended up being one and done cumdumps . With the Epilogue only being six days there is not enough time to develop a relationship with the last three characters and two of them where teased in the first half of the game. Second, I know adult games have a problem with black women for some odd reason but i always strike a star when there is none. They need a LOT more representation. Third grammar, A lot of times in the story you see the word Spent when it is supposed to be Spend.

sex scenes are the same, if you played 2 chapters then you played the whole game. So bland and not unique at all sadly. Animations are nice but the dev lacks any imagination.
