VN - Ren'Py - My New Memories [v0.4.5] [Killer7]

Story - 3/10 This story is mind numbing and rather bland there are to many characters in the family, and they all eventually end up wanting the MC to be there's. This story/game is almost exactly the same as the story/game the dev is producing. Has better renders, and the story itself has differences. Still both are a close copy of each other.
The writing itself is rather amateur, there is some minor emotional connection to a few characters, nothing that really draws you in though.
Needs a better writer and a lot of story improvements.

Originality - 2/10 Well since this story/game is a close copy of his other game i would not say it is original. There are also a lot of others with the same scenario so.

Renders - 7/10 Decent renders an improvement over the other story/game by the same dev.

Animations - 2/10 The oh so common 2 second sex scene with no foreplay and next to nothing in realism with it comes to having sex. Since story and animations pretty much are what players download these for, this one cheaps out and has no imagination.

Amount of content - 8/10 For the amount of time that this has been out, there is a good amount of content. Although doesn't mean the content is actually interesting.


Overall i do not see the sense in making two games which are almost exact copies of each other. Get rid of MNF would allow for more time on this one, not only allowing for quicker content on this one, but would allow more time for improving what is already put out. Hire a better writer and definitely improve the sex scenes, would generate more interest.

This review is for the game through v0.3

Ok, Finally finished a complete play through of this game so far. Must say that I am enjoying it throughly. There is a lot of reading, but the story is good and moves well. As Killer7 says in the developer notes, this isn't the game for someone looking for a quick wank. You'll probably sprain your finger or give yourself arthritis if you just click through all the dialogue to get to the nest sex scene. (don't tell them there is a skip option if they dont already know, let them explane to the Dr how they sprained their finger playing a porn game.)

As I said in an earlier post, I love the way this game deals with the amnesia issue. especially with the dream visits. I just hope taht when the wife wakes up, shes not like, "WTF! I'm in a coma and you screw every woman in our family!"

The story reads well and is enjoyable. It has humor, joy, love, anger and a bit of suspense. It may feel a little off at the beginning for some, during the hospital and hotel portions, if thats how you feel, just keep reading and get past that part. The further into the story you read, the more invested in the characters you become. Don't be surprised if you find yourself tearing up a little in a couple of places, or if you find that you want nothing more than to send Mike to the underworld. This game has feels.
Although the sex to story ratio is up there, there is still a decent amount of sex in this game. So, don't worry about getting board.

Over all, it's a wonderful game.

The only real complaint that I had at all is that in some of the scenes, the text is difficult to read due to the background behind it. Especially in some of the dialogue between the MC and Sabrina when she is on the light colored couch at his place that has a slight patern to it. In those scenes, older eyes like mine have to strain a little to seperate the text from the background. This could be remedied by doing as some other games do and putting a semi-translucent shadow box of color between the background and the text.

Aside From that, this game is a true gem!

I finished reading all of it (v0.3) in one sitting (about 9 hours). I honestly fell in love with this novel and all of its characters. Probably one of the most enjoyable stories I've found on this website yet. The beginning made me think it was going to be some cheap excuse for a porn novel but this game has a fun wholesome story that can be dramatic enough when it needs to be. Super excited to see where the next chapter takes us. Thank you Killer7!!

Right now, this is my second-favorite AVN i've experienced. Between the story being told and the characters being developed, everything strikes the perfect cord for me.

The only problem I have with this game is that Killer7 is not devoting his entire life to it. (that said, I'm also a MNF fan so I'm happy that's updating soon)

Not sure how you're getting away with it without a patch, but keep it up, 'cause I wait on pins and needles for each new chapter.

Overall, a good game that had me hooked from the get go. The plot isn't exactly "original", but it has all of Killer7's (My New Family) signature wholesomeness, but it's clear that they learned from their previous game. The plot is tighter, and the characters more well rounded, and generally just better written than MNF.

Now to my worries: As mentioned, Killer7 is known for his "wholesomeness", and that usually means no real drama. So far, My New Memories actually does deliver some drama, both in plot, and in interactions with some of the characters, but I worry that they're going to go the MNF route, and have zero drama, which gets boring. While I don't want a complete drama driven game, it's important to remember that drama serves a purpose: character evolution. Something has to happen for the characters to react to, to evolve, to progress.

I hope he won't stop delivering a little drama once we deal with the initial problems, as they're needed to drive the story, AND characters forward.

I wasn't sure if I should give 3 or 4 stars, as I am worried the game can get boring quick, if they don't continue adding a little drama here and there, but that wouldn't be fair, as the game, as it is currently as of v0.3, is great.

Characters fall for MC way too fast (I get that MC already has a past with most of them, but nearly every LI would jump on the MC at first chance. There is just no build up in the relationships since everything is already there) Note: I am not saying that LIs falling fast for the MC is bad, but it just feels so forced and rushed in this game.
Story is boring and really not the main focus of the game. Felt like the dialogue focused more on sex than the story.
Many annoying characters and what they do (keep info from MC, etc.)
Nearly everyone is fine with incest and being in a harem, and just accept it as normal.

This game is absolutely amazing. I was expecting quality, having played a fair bit of MNF, but the character interactions are amazing and hilarious. I could easily see myself playing this game with all the AVN parts removed, the interactions are that good. Easily in the top 5 of all AVNs I've played, and the best that is more "slice of life" (as compared to games with a more novel-style plot).

It is definitely a slow burn game, but I highly recommend playing it for anyone who cares about more than just sex scenes. And I imagine things will pick up more, they already started picking up a little by the end of chapter 2 compared to the prologue.

Final note: Killer7 may have apologized for length of time between updates, but considering how bit the updates are, three updates in a year isn't bad at all. Not that I would say no to more updates, of course…

What a truly exceptional game. I was playing it for an age before I began to comprehend just how massive it was. For a 0.3 release it's absurd how much there is in it.

Little in the way of choices in the grand scheme of things, certainly in the beginning but I've noticed a few starting to creep in as the game matures so perhaps that will become a more common thing going forward

The story is good, it's engaging with enough trailing to make you wonder if there's some supernatural element going on. It's probably a simpler explanation but it's written sufficiently well that it's no obvious.

The characters are all engaging and sufficiently distinct

Literally the only downside I can think of , and this is my searching for something negative for the point of balance is it's an awful slow burn. If you're wanting something a bit moer "action" orientated then this isn't for you. At least not yet. Most of the time is talking between the characters. Now, I personally don't see that as a bad thing, but I appreciate others kind of want a bit more bang for their buck. There are a few lewd scenes in there but there's spread out and tend to come near the end of the later updates.

Another annoyance is a few characters have similar names. Lena, Lina and Lisa being something where occasionally I had to pause and go "which one's that again?"

• This game is a slow burner (and is labeled as such!), so if that's not quite your tempo, be aware of that before downloading it. HOWEVER, it does feel like it's on a course where that slow burn will pick up steam into a good ol' fuckfest. The storylines that are being set up with certain characters are very intriguing and the dev has done a good job leaving me wanting more.

• IMO the game needs some sort of UI that gives us a family tree. A lot of characters are introduced in short order, with varying relationships to the MC and the rest of the family, and I found it difficult to put the full picture together in my head, which has made following the story difficult at times.
• As an aside, and it's not worth dinging a star for this: the MC falls into the 'generic model with an obnoxiously large dick' trope.
• There's a suspicious number of urination references in this story that feel like they're part of a setup to explore later on once relationships develop, but it's not in the planned tags.

Another smashing effort from Killer7, I really love the dialogues and interactions in My New Family so this was a familiar field and occasional scenes were not an issue as the story was engaging enough. I really liked that this time around the character models is much more realistic than the MNF. I still love MNF and would be playing through the 0.22 update.

Excellent game, the story pace is really good, the characters models are just the best out there, the lewd scenes are fantastic with a good build up Everything is perfect, can't wait for each new update

How this game did get such a high rating is beyond me!!!

This is the most boring game I have played in a very long time. There are tons upon tons of senseless dialogue, without any real substance. After a while you will find yourself skipping through the majority of it and even then it takes forever to find anything worthwhile in this game.

Even the sex scenes are extremely boring. Everything reads and feels so vanilla that you practically need to be a virgin to find any excitement in it. It got to the point that I ended up skipping the sex scenes (yes, in a porn game). That says a lot. There is just nothing to it. No tease, no excitement building up before getting naughty, nothing.

The only thing this game has going for it are the graphics. They are not bad, not breathtaking either, be above average. Everything else is just bland and a waste of time.

I recently stumbled upon this game and didn't expect too much. Amnesia has been so overdone in AVNs, and it usually goes "MC in a coma for 20+ years, learns that he is a father and has to learn everything again"

This game is different. The whole amnesia trope is not the core part of this game anymore after an hour or so, it's more about the MC slowly becoming himself again in this weirdly loving family. Loving is the key word, they all seem to love each other, maybe a little too much.

Anyway, I'm glad I was able to find this game here. I was only able to play 0.1 on some weird site, but google helps with finding these games fully, even if they are pirated. Can't wait to see where the game goes!

Ok, I get the game being slow. they even said at the start. It's fine if only the story and the writing were actually good! this game has the same problem that 90% of the other sex games have, the characters don't behave like actual people. they're just ridiculous.
It's alright if the game has long dialogues and conversations, but long conversations and long-winded conversations are very different and this game certainly has the latter. not to mention repeating the same concept over and over as if the players are so stupid that they didn't get the message the first time and the game has to hammer it as hard as it can to make it stick!

Anyway, the models are cute.
The story is kinda cliche but I like the premise, sadly it's wasted by bad writing.
I don't know why dialogue options even exist in this game, it's linear as hell.

Overall it's a bloated mess of characters who don't act like humans and talk so much that you think their life depends on it. it's a 5.5/10 for me.

Those small daughters do not look the right age, I get the reason but it still feels wierd. Also the dialogue is too flowery like my new family, making it unrealistic and boring. The medical stuff is bs too, atleast research stuff before writing. Twins being able to feel each others emotions is a myth.

This VN could be alot better, the story is decent.
The dialog is why I give this VN such a low score, for me the glaring fault in it is the time sequencing and the lack of individual personality, it borderlines on predictable with how characters are going to act and behave. The humor is one of the most predictable of these elements.

How MAGNIFICENT. I don't do many reviews but this easily earns one.

I have lost loved ones and reconnected with distant family. This game is that times 1000. This is not a game. This is catharsis. I had to stop to applaud this experience. This time spent gave me the feels. I know Anna is not dead and her spirit visits.
My Dad visits me in my dreams sometimes. He tells me to take care of my mom and be a good girl. My best doggo Buddy snuggles on my leg sometimes too. I click along this story with tears forming as I reconnect with my in-game family. All my praise. I would love to work with you Killer7 on any future project.

I don't know yet about the fun sexual stuff, is there gonna be free roam / open world or choices in sex scenes...
But Whaoh! The story, the characters, just beautiful!
I love the universe and actuallt feel living in it. Not just a game, I feel emotionally taken away from this.

Got steam, got itch.io and now got new supporter on patreon. Loved Chapter 2 so much, best chapter by far so far but that is not saying much because game is not long out yet. Update time was long but I think it worth it to wait.

Review for v0.3

To be completely honest, I dropped this pretty fast. I feel more justified in doing that after reading some of the plot spoilers as well. I just don't think this as a VN for me at the end of the day.

I feel like I've seen the amnesia trope 30 times over by now, and I was never that into it in the first place. I also don't like when AVNs try to be super emotional right out of the gate. I know none of these characters. It means nothing to me that the wife we haven't even seen yet is in a coma. I don't feel any of the emotions because I haven't learned about any of these characters in the first place.

From the bit I played, I also didn't connect with the MC at all. The fuck you mean you don't want to see your family or literal daughters? You want to start over and forget your entire family? I get it he has amnesia and doesn't feel any particular connection with them because of that, but I find it super unrelatable I suppose. Obviously he changes his opinion on it, but idk it just made me think of him as a shithead. Besides that, it seems like he simply turns into Mr. perfect as the story goes on. Also this is more a me thing, but I don't care to play as a middle aged man either.


The renders and models are fine, but they aren't amazing. It's a thing I can always look past if the rest of the game is great, but I'm just not feeling it.

I will give some points for trying to tell an actual story and create a good slower burn, but this seems like it will simply turn into a cushiony incest harem game and nothing more. That's fine if you're into it, but I really think the whole amnesia plot kills this for me more than anything else.
