VN - Ren'Py - Completed - My Sister, My Roommate [v1.69] [Sumodeine]

For 2017, this undoubtedly would've been a 7/10 review, but times have passed and unfortunately I have to rate it in the context of current-year, I have to give it a 4/10 review.

Visually it's decent, which again I'd imagine was quite good for 2017. @CobraSGT should be praised for the work they did at time of release. For current standards, they're obviously dated.

Storywise, it's pretty rubbish. Every character is generic and half-baked. The same goes with the poor dialogue too, it's just not very good regardless of the time of release.

Ultimately, there's just no reason for me to recommend this in 2024 to anyone when there are dozens of more deserving projects.

I haven't played this in many versions and am very happy I returned.
+ Great writing for the dialogue.
Easy to follow. Little to no typos. The characters speak like they are real people.

+ The story is engaging and a nice build up, which makes the story erotic.

When the proper selection is made there is a scene where the characters break the 4th wall and I laughed out loud. Nice!

OVERALL:
Fun and well worth checking out.

The story starts a bit slow, but after you get into college the chemistry with your no-nonsense sister skyrockets.
MC is a pretty awkward nerd, but for once relationships in a lewd game feel all pretty wholesome and respectful (he could stand a slightly bigger dick tho).
And people complaining about cucking because you aren't the only character that can have lots of sex are incels.

The sex scenes are a bit dated and over pretty quickly, but this is pretty good all in all. The dialogue is on the high end for one of these things. Characters generally talk like actual believable people. They jump to sucking your dick a bit faster than actual people, but hey that's why we're here. Might be a bit fast for the slow burn enjoyers, but nothing you can't suspend your disbelief for. The sister is a huge slut, but still acts like a sister. I think they did a good job of balancing her more grounded sister behavior with the more silly porn nonsense aspects of her character. Complaints of NTR are, I believe, overblown. I hate ntr, but none of what happened in this game bothered me. Yes, your sister has sex with someone else in front of you, but well, she's your sister not your girlfriend. As your relationship evolves you can decide you want her for yourself, but at the beginning you aren't into each other and I don't really see it as NTR. The game treats its characters with an unusual amount of respect. None of the girls needs your magic dick just because you're the protagonist (ok, one does, but she's crazy). If you don't pursue them, they will go off and do their own thing and have their own sex life and generally be fine without you. Personally I find that very refreshing.

Decent game. It's about two twins that end up sharing a dormitory
together in college, and it does have a decent plot to it.
We have various characters like D Brickashaw the football star,
and Ashley the insane vegan. But the main focus is on
Nikki who is Taylor's twin sister, and of course the sexual
tension between the brother and sister as Nikki is into
incest from watching porn and playing porn video games.
The innocent virgin Molly the neighbor in the dormitory
is actually pretty cute, and has a sexy body, some times
pubic hair works in games and some time it does not,
but Molly has an amazingly sexy pussy so it works here.
Music is interesting and there are two songs that sound
like generic Nirvana and ZZ Top that give me a laugh when
they play.

I think my only complaint is the sex scenes are over very quickly,
and I would have liked to have seen more a build in the sex scenes.
Either way it's a fun little game. I would suggest downloading
the PDF guide on F95zone so you can have idea which ending
you want to go for, as there are a couple of different ways
the game can end.

the game overall is more like a kinetic novel than a vn.
It has enough choices to qualify as a vn, but a lot of content is unavoidable really. This wasn't an option so I tried to do it the roundabout way. I tried to avoid the sister as a LI. But na, that was going to happen.

I mean. Go for the game if you will. It might be better than the one's you've been playing as of late due to the good ones taking their time and the shitty ones being a dime a dozen.
As a matter of principle, I don't trust 5 star reviews. Some of them will mention flaws in a long review but that contradicts the 5 star rating=they rated 5stars to be polite and supportive. It's not the most useful rating for players but is helpful for devs.
TLDR to say: I was of the impression that you learn about the bad parts with imperfect reviews as perfect/5-star reviews imply perfection. We know these ain't perfect.

This is one of the worst games. the plot is terrible and boring (I fell asleep twice while reading these boring dialogues that make no sense). Someone wrote about humor, but I did not see it. The characters are not interesting. The visual part is below average. I'm too lazy to spend more time commenting on this shit, so I'm done.

This is a good game overall, it's funny and has some interesting characters. The idea of moving to college and sharing a dorm with your sister is something I really liked.

I don't give it a 5 stars because I don't like that the sister is/was such a whore.

TL;DR: My Sister, My Roommate is your typical "vigin boy goes to college and get the girls" with a nice sprinkle of incest. The dialogue is definitely better than what you'd encounter in other games, and there are some limitations to your characters harem powers which is nice.

The Good: First of all, obviously: Incest! Good character models. Good character personalities. Good dialogues. Good amount of player agency on what the game will show you (although nothing in this game should be particularly upsetting)

The Average: The renders show their age, and many sex scenes will end quickly. The 'animations' are just transitional images showing back and forth motion.

The Bad: Nothing that would make me caution anyone against playing it. Just keep an eye on the tags and see if this is something for you.

Well, I never thought I would be reviewing this game when I started. But here we go. It is actually one of few games that is finished, having strong characters and consistent, intelligible plot wich is not a harem, and the characters in it do not jump into the bed with the GG just for the sake of cool renders. So if you appreciate that kind of thing, it is a musthave. That game clearly took inspiration in La La Land(film 2016), Haley's story, because, the last scene in home is like the end Haley, but not, errr, lets just say, so bad. Really, there is pond from Haley end and scene in it is soooo simular, like the rest of the end of this game. Anyway, this game can be better, but that's just my subjective quibble. WARNING! Spoilers Anyway, game is cool, film that I mentioned is cool and it will help you understand the plot of the game, you can even watch the analysis of the plot.

Very well written, good humor (even the meta humor was nice), relatable and kind of reasonable MC and LIs, a fun and lighthearted (despite a murder) story . I liked the models; maybe renderings could be a bit more polished but I did not mind.

This game has average graphics, but really nice story. One thing is missing and that is ending. I would expect better ending in finished game. The graphics could be wax better. For example cum looks horrible in this game.

I really liked this VN. Story is well-written and made me laugh a number of times. I truly felt quite deep emotions for many of the girls. Despite sex scenes lacking deeper “lust effect”, I still very much enjoyed this game.

There are passages of this game that feel slightly too kinetic for me, where I don't feel I have enough agency to develop the MC but his behavior is also at odds with his initial characterisation. Meaning, one day you are the shy introvert and the next day you are the ladys man, the speed of this transformation is difficult to believe. But on the other hand the game has a lot of qualities that redeem from its flaws. I really dug the swipe at Acting Lessons for instance, really well done. And I really enjoyed the banter between the siblings. Some of the relationships feel meaningful, others not so much. Especially in the beginning I feel the game borders on ntr, especially with Nikkis first encounter in College. I would have preferred to have different ways to deal with it other than perving. You could argue she is not an LI at this point, but come on now. It was basically cucking.

I liked most characters in the game but didn't enjoy the game as much as Haley which has a similar premise.

I think the reasons are that even if the visual are good, the girls do not appeal so much to me than in other VNs.
Second, i find the game really short.
The humor was quite well there so no complain (no big laugh, tough, just smiles).

Another thing: the choices are rather scarce.
However i liked very much my ending with Sister and girl, so it felt good.

The dialog is good and the story was enjoyable even if it was generic. There were several characters that I liked, it felt like they had different personalities.

The animations ranges from bad to horrible. There are some decent sex renders, mostly in the second half of the game. Blowjobs pretty consistently look bad throughout the game though. Facial expressions need work, not many of them look good.

There is no grind. You can play it without a walkthrough no problem. Especially if you have saves as fallback option. I did have a look at the walkthrough and it has a good diagram at the end if you just want to know what endings are available.

Some sex scenes are unavoidable. So there is no way for you to have sex with only one girl. If you like harem games, there is a harem route with no penalties for being unfaithful.

I highly recommend it for players who like story driven games and do not mind that the visual pornographic value is a bit on the low end.

Another game that I have played more than once. Nice little story but I am miffed that even after following the walkthrough to the T I didn't get the ending I wanted but well there are other playthroughs to get the other ending. Nice renders, very little animation but that's all right. It's fun time and it was funny as well and made me laugh multiple times.

At 1st I was expecting an incest story b/w the horny nerd brother & popular sister, but this is definitely way better than I anticipated. The story is basically how a virgin boy breaks out of his shell & it was definitely a fun & enjoyable ride. Plenty of memorable characters, interesting story. I really like to emphasize the point that for a change we get to play as a MC who isn't a handsome stud but an average looking teenager with a normal dick(instead of the horse dick usually seen in many other Adult VN which was enough to get any girl). Its fun to watch him grow from a virgin(who prematurely ejaculates his 1st time-6 sec) into a mature stud. At 1st I did go after every pussy I saw but after My fav girl Molly confesses I decided to be loyal & I loved the heartwarming ending I got it was really soothing.
