Need help with a game error

So I downloaded a game called Depths of the Dungeon 3 by Caryo, and every time I open it up I get this message


I tried troubleshooting it myself but none of the options I had worked. Is there something I'm missing?

The .exe looks like it may have some non-standard characters. Make a copy/backup, rename the file, try running it.
