Ren'Py - New Family [v0.4.5] [King Peanut]

I don't see the charm of this game. The MC is a boring wuss. The English skills are lacking, giving the game a low level of engagement. The storytelling elements feels incredibly superficial. The dialogues are awful and childish. The characters are stereotypical. Nice erotic scenes though, I'll give it that.

One of my favorite games, maybe I would change some things from the beginning of the story because it is clear that the game was going to have an NTR part and they made the protagonist a little stupid, other than that, the character designs are incredible, Miho is my favorite, the animations are wonderful, the best decision of the author was to remove the NTR, I hope the game continues like this, with only the protagonist fucking the girls, i hate that shit about sharing one of the girls with another man or anything like that

I recently played a fantastic story-based game with a gallery feature that kept me hooked for hours. It was one of those experiences where you lose track of time because the plot is so engaging. I spent a long time exploring every twist and turn of the narrative, which was thoroughly immersive. However, I did notice that the NTR (Netorare) route is still incomplete, which left me a bit disappointed. I was hoping to see a more fully developed experience in that particular storyline.


In terms of visuals, the game was generally good, but I did feel the animation could have been smoother. At times, it seemed a bit off or sharp, which distracted from the overall immersion. Despite this, the game’s art style was still impressive, especially considering the depth and variety of scenes offered in the gallery. The scenes were beautifully illustrated, and I enjoyed unlocking them as I progressed.


Overall, I highly recommend giving it a try. Despite a few minor flaws, like the unfinished route and the sharp animations, it was an enjoyable experience that I think many players will appreciate. The story and the artwork alone make it worth playing.

Man, this was a good one! Surprisingly way better than I expected, even with the already high expectations I had after seeing the overall reviews. Ok so everything feels very basic at the beginning with no strong build up, so you probably just go with the flow until the story finally picks up where the MC gets entangled in something serious.

While there’s nothing to write home about in terms of the story itself, the pacing is superb. I never felt like I was wasting time sitting through boring dialogue or grinding tediously to fulfill certain conditions. I had a blast all the way from the start until the end of the current content and before I knew it, I already played for about six to seven hours. So yeah the content is already quite meaty despite being a relatively recent release.

The game does have sandbox elements and navigation is overall pretty easy, but this part feels underutilized since there isn’t much to do in the world outside of progressing the story in specific areas during specific times. Not to mention the story progression is linear, so even tho you can already score with some girls, the game is the one that dictates the pace where you can only focus on one or two girls at a time. Normally I hate this kind of handholding, especially in a game with sandbox elements, but as I said, the pacing here is solid and managed to keep me invested instead of just wanting to move on to a different girl.

There are choices you can pick, but so far they're few and far between, and all of them are still locked. From the way the dev set them up, it feels like these choices could lead to NTR scenarios. That seems like something that might eventually happen, especially since there have already been two instances of NTR bait that didn't play out, mainly because the MC for once is cautious, fearless, and actually uses his head.

So yeah, despite a weaker start with not much build up, underwhelming sandbox elements, and a choice system that's still limited, everything else about the game is solid. Most importantly, I enjoyed the ride all the way through and came away satisfied.

But what about the GOOD STUFF? Well the five stars say it all, it's fantastic. The girls are solid overall. So far you can interact with four of them (at least the ones where you can do H with), and at least two are pretty strong in terms of story and the payoff when you finally seal the deal. You can probably already tell from some of the preview images, but yeah the sex scenes in this game are really good, easily some of the best you'll find in any Koikatsu based game around this site with added sound effects on top.

The amount of scenes is already more than I expected. For the two girls I mentioned earlier, I especially like that after you finish their story arcs you can still interact with them for free fuck depending on the time of day where they have multiple positions (and always with different camera angles too), so it’s like getting a bunch of extra scenes even after you’ve already completed their gallery. I really hope the dev expands on this even more cause I do want to still interact with the past girls.

But overall the game is really solid. There’s already plenty of content to enjoy, and I imagine the experience will only get better, so I'm looking forward to see how this game evolves.

Early review of version 0.3.5.

The story is decent at most, it looks like a cuckload plot but fortunately it's not and that is because this game were a NTR focused game. The animations are really good, the girls design is great, it has music, sounds and moans and has gallery mode (ingame).

It has some errors in the writting and the mc is idiot, but it's pretty decent at the moment to give a try.

Some of the best animations I have ever seen, perhaps the best, seriously. That alone gets this game 5 stars but the world and characters are also entertaining to make each payoff feel earned.

Every update gives a lot of new content and the stories are both wholesome and funny. Respect to the creator for leaving the door open to future stories for a completely different audience as well, I have to appreciate the foresight should they ever experiment with that sort of bad ending route, but very well done no matter what. Please continue with this game and others in the future. Your scenes and models are one of a kind!

I really wanna like this game more. This is one of the devs that has very very good Koikatsu animations which honestly is not something you come across daily (I can't blame most devs since animating is a whole other beast from just creating static scenes or using basic animations) so in terms of custom animations it sets itself apart from other games. The scenery and story is also fine I think for porn game purposes it manages to keep you engaged and see what happens next.

The problem for me is the gameplay... creating a sandbox without sandbox elements makes me question the existence of it in the first place. Everything follows a more or less (maybe not in the future but for now it does) linear storyline for each character and stuff is already kind of predetermined (even the interactions with the other characters) which means you just add useless clicking for nothing. Either add gameplay elements to the sandbox to make it actually engaging outside of just going to where the ingame walkthrough says you should be going or scrap the entire idea of the sandbox and make it a complete VN. Gameplay is a huge part of a game and atp it's useless in this game.

I still do hope the dev keeps going and depending on what gets added in the future I will change my rating, but atm I am a bit fed up with the gameplay which sadly tanks the score.

⠀⠀⠀Great animations, sound design, physics, particle effects and even a proper climax sequence which is rare. All in all, poggers - some of the best sex I've seen made in Koikatsu. The only complaint from me is that there is very little to no naughty talk, because of that and the ability to change angles, sex kinda lacks intimacy.
⠀⠀⠀Boring story and characters. The premise isn't anything new or original. You're a high schooler who's 21 and goes to college because patreon rules, you have a family who aren't really a family for the same reason, and yes, the father is also dead, who would have thought. MC is a wimpy-limpy who's bullied by an arrogant girl, then she falls in love with him within two days after he starts blackmailing her. The "mother" is basically in love with MC from the start, so she tries to seduce him at every given opportunity. Then he saves her from her creep boss and have sex, the end. That's it for current content update. There is an overarching plot about an evil organization that kidnaps women, which both of your dads worked for (yes MC had 2 dads, it's 2025, it's okay), but it's not really interesting so far.
⠀⠀⠀No point in sandbox, you can only do things in a predetermined order, so the whole navigation is just a few extra clicks in between the narrative. It's also a kinetic novel right now, as all the additional options are greyed out until further updates.

edit: okay I was maybe a bit too harsh and too quick to jump to conclusions with the plot, the dev is working in that department and it is getting better.

Review for v0.2.6

I really feel that the only thing this game has an edge over others with is the custom sex animations. Ignore that, and you'd forget you even played this after like a week. I'll say now I played up until the point where you're given a choice to either blackmail your bully and essentially force yourself on her, or forgive her. To bad that latter option isn't implemented, so I just closed the game instead.

This whole game is just annoying to play man. For some reason it's structured like a sandbox despite being completely linear with no extra content to do, there's no quick way to move around, the MC is actually a loser and the way he interacts with the love interests is sad, and the story/characters are tropes you've seen ten times over and very shallow. Yeah the custom animations are nice, but it just has absolutely no substance to back it up. Maybe I'll come back when the game is heavily expanded, but there's nothing compelling me to keep playing this right now.

Just played v0.2.6 and damn... I gotta give props. The H-scenes are clean as hell, not just decent, but actually well-animated. Full movement, long buildup, and the climax scene? Smooth as butter. Most games rush it, but this one took its time and it shows.


And here’s what stood out the most: these aren’t those same old Koikatsu animations. I can tell they’re custom-made. Way more natural, fluid, and you can see the effort. The dev actually cared about making the scenes feel right.


Models are great, sound effects hit nice, and the whole thing feels polished. King Peanut’s not cutting corners.


The story’s linear, sure, but it kept me engaged. I actually wanted to see what happens next. Also, shoutout to the dev for scrapping the NTR route, seriously, good move. Although, Netori would've been fine since it's MC stealing someone's girl.


Some people mention the lack of a gallery, but honestly? You can just talk to the girls and smash again, so I don’t really miss it. Wouldn’t hurt to have one later though.


Only real complaint is the house still feels a bit empty sometimes, hope that improves as updates roll in.


Final thoughts: 9.5/10 for now, could easily be a 10/10 once we get more updates and more scenes like these . Definitely one of the better VNs out there right now.

Pros:

• H-scenes are animated wonderfully
• There's a really good story happening here, can't wait for further updates
• The models are done very well
• The SFX are done nicely
• Around 2+ hours to complete
• I like that there's a setting to change the BGM to a different track
• A good amount of content between 2 girls currently

Cons:

• While there are some choices, none matter right now (I'm sure it'll be developed down the road)
• A very linear path with no choice on what to do or how to spend your time
• The map feels empty. Even the house feels empty
• This game is definitely more of a VN than a sandbox free roam game
• It bugs me that "setting" is not capitalized in the menus LOL
• No gallery

Conclusion:

This game is still in early development so hopefully a bunch of my nitpicks get resolved someday. Even still, this game is definitely worth the download and definitely worth playing.

I never usually review games on here but this one deserves it. The story, while linear and a bit predictable (thank god, fuck the massage guy), actually had me surprisingly interested and kept me wanting to keep playing to see what would happen next. Will definitely be keeping an eye on future updates and wish the creator nothing but the best of luck.

Definition of doing alot with alittle. Maybe dev has played a good amount of games on this site cus they sidestepped a lot of the common annoyances.

Chalk it up to two words : Update Quality. A must play just for that, always delivered thus far. If this keeps up, I'd reckon it'd be top 3 but ofc we'll see what happens down the line.

Looking extremely promising, great characters and really well made animations!

My only hope is for more fetishes available and more character variety (goth dommy mommys please), and more repeatable scenes possibly.

The UI could use a little polish as well, but I don't think it's too big of an issue, considering the story is solid and the animations are good.

The animations are good, the girls have exaggerated bodies (just how I like it), the story isn't much yet but I like the bait and switch aspect of it, not much content for now tho, only 4-5 sex scenes some of which are either dreams or PC porn. Hopefully it doesn't get abandoned

So far what's there is brilliant, scenes are amazing, Azuna's storyline was good, can't wait for the other characters to have their arcs aswell. Corruption is managed really well, no stupid unneccesary grind. The stand out is the H-scenes though, hope this carries on for the other characters.

The concept is very interesting, besides the animations are peak and well made that was the first thing thatbrought me in, anyway u just hope for more updates and that this doesn't get abandoned like most goo games here
