The pixel art is excellently fluid, and the game does effectively capture the cruddy VHS vibe, but that's about the upper limit of praise. The pixel art is still a little too low-res, especially for the extremely slow pace of its limited content. Half of the 14 endings are just parody alterations of the end-cards, and the other half can be subdivided by whether or not the girl is turned into a bug monster, with each route being only 5-10 minutes in length without fast-forwarding.
I would love to see more of this kind of stuff, especially with its Choose Your Own Adventure formula, the use of timing to go on branching paths, and the scenario of playing the monster, but this only (*really* only) scratches the surface.
