So, currently in the middle of updating some of my Daz library from G3 > G8 (Don't like G9) and I decided to install the Daz deals add-on, which was all well and dandy until I checked the "view total spending" option.

Worst thing is, I have probably spent another 10K on Renderosity+Renderotica.

Something that should be shown to bitchy members who believe that using Daz Studio cost nothing to the devs.
It also apply to those who refuse to understand why devs who don't get much support tend to abandon their project. There's a moment when you compare what you've spend and what you've earned, and decide to stop before you go bankrupt.

True. Daz ain't cheap, unless you pirate most of your assets, which I personally don't want to. I most use Daz as a hobby, to just render out pictures of hot chicks and have fun with it. I have a few ideas for a games, and some of them have even gotten quite far, but I have still not made an actual game yet.
I might never make a game - let alone release it to the public, and even if I do, I wouldn't post it on Patreon, cause I don't want to be censored, so I don't expect to ever earn back a single dollar of what I have spent. I don't mind though, cause I do this for me and to have fun.

... What is the "current value" ... ?
... Can you just sell your add-ons back for a profit ... ?

Current value means the price you'd have to pay at the store currently, if you pay full price.

$20-30k is an expensive hobby. There are many drug addicts with lower investments.
That might be true, but I'd say my money are resulting in more fun and less of a health detriment, than most drug addicts.

Here is mine. On one hand you can clearly see that I almost exclusively buy things at ~90% discount but on the other I thought I was spending about $20 a month but this figure shows that on average, in the past five years I actually spent 300% of what I thought I have been spending... And as Agent HK47 said, that's before Renderosity and Renderotica.

You are definitely better at getting them deals than me. I tend to go for around 60-70% discount as a minimum for most of my spending sprees. Most of the "full price" aspect of my spending was before the token system was added though, when I would often buy new releases. Mostly I look for a good initial discount and then add the tokens on top.

I'm a very patient man. I can literally wait months for the deal I want to buy a product at 90% discount. I also buy in advance for things I may want to use in the future: sometime after I started working on my game I decided I wanted an "oriental/Asian" fiefdom so I marked many "oriental/Asian" items and when they became available at ridiculous discounts, I bought them and used them years later.

And now with the death of credit cards (DLSite is just the beginning), i wonder how many developers are still going to stick with H-gaming development.

Maybe i should stick to MUGEN, Koikatsu and HS 2 for my hentai fix from now on...

When upgrading from one genesis generation to another, you pretty much have to start over. Buy new models, hair, clothes, facial expression, poses, morphs, genitals, ect.
Some things are multi-gen compatible, I.E. they can be used for more than 1 generation, but this is far from all items. Environments can be used by any model, the only thing that might be limited is any poses that might come bundled with said environment.
