no tags rework happens in f95 :/

People are overly obsessed with tags. So many threads get clogged with users demanding explanation of tags, requesting tags, wanting to know if, when, who, where and how much of a given tag is present in a game. Like every game (free mind you) needs to cater specifically to your particular gooner radar. The current tag system is pretty good and covers enough. We don't need it to be more complicated.

If you want this to happen faster, there are a few things.

1) Sam is only one person. He's doing all the coding outside of his day job. F95 and this site do not pay him for his work. We are all volunteers here.
2) F95 and Sam did outsource some of the work, and it's been slow. iirc, I think it's been through a few developers already.
3) Once Sam does get some of the backend code updated and in a state to allow other devs to work on it. There are a few staff and mods that have experience. So we will most likely get access to help speed it up.
4) I doubt Sam would accept a large donation from F95 and the site. I could be wrong, so maybe it could happen and he could take a few days off.

I still say it. I'm gonna release my second game before the rework happens.

I already did. First game came out around the same time as the new tags thread, finished that one and just did the first release of the second one.

He once said that for US$ 10 millions he would works full time on the forum. He also gave a maximal deadline. But I honestly don't know which one is the most likely to happen; some rich member read this post, or Valve releasing Half-life 3.
