If you read one Yuzusoft VN, you become automatically familiar with their way of doing things, but Noble☆Works does something that separates it from the more "recent" releases by this dev: It has no supernatural. This means that a lot of content in the title, isn't dependent on some strange ability, that might make no sense to you, and reading this after Cafe Stella, Sanoba Witch, Senren Banka, and more, could be a nice change of pace.
Positive:
- The usual formula already worked in 2010 - All the things you like in a Yuzusoft title are already here, outside technical improvements over the years. In other words, if you like the dev, this one works too.
- No supernatural with mythology and idiosyncrasies, you can't relate to. In short, 2 guys look similar, one is rich, the other poor, and the latter takes the former's place in the world. Soap opera premise. but it's universal, and entertaining.
- Romance, comedy, and slice of life are all at acceptable levels. It's the 5th Yuzusoft title, and I'm repeating myself, but for all intents and purposes, they know what they are doing.
- Heroines are good, have enough diversity in archetypes/traits. There's more than just ojou-sama (rich girl).
Negative:
- It's inferior, in terms of technical aspects, when compared to recent Yuzusoft releases; Some people like the supernatural, and will miss it here (feel like a plain experience); And Makoto didn't get a route for some reason.
Score: Noble☆Works is a 7/10, but be aware that I read this, after the other titles I mentioned in the intro, and I was tired of Yuzusoft supernatural premises at that point. That increased the score a bit. If you feel differently, remove one point from the score.
(H-scenes are OK, and unsurprisingly more of the same)
