Non-Realistic Daz art?

Does anyone have experience with non-realistic Daz artwork?

Using Daz assets has the downside that the 3d models all share the same style of 'artwork'. Using a stylized shader seems like a decent way around this issue.
was recently posted here, Along with , it seems that Daz has the option to do some non-realistic cartoon style artwork. I've also seen that people do 'post-work' (photoshop filters and the like) on Daz renders to create comics.

But I haven't actually seen this done for any mature work. I'd love to hear if this type of stylized art has actually been used for any adult comics or games. Does it work?

Or do people simply find the more 'realistic' 3d styles more sexy? I'm aware that original 2d artwork seems desirable for many people, but I'm not sure if this type of stuff is a decent compromise and/or if it even works out to be acceptably visually interesting for adult purposes.

@MrBree
Some assets:
Those are another interesting possibility for a 'distinctive' look, even if they were not exactly what I was looking at. I was referencing shaders which basically strip out much of the 3d instead of a 3d 'toon' look. Work checking out at least. Have you even seen any adult artwork or games using them?
I'm not sure those are quite safe to use considering they make all the characters look like children..

What Hentai games use this approach for their art?

@jerricho13 I am not actually asking for assets or how to use them. I am asking if any one has seen this type of content actually used in games (or done it themselves).

Seeing how it has been used before can allow me to see if it works (or doesn't) for an adult game.

Examples? Any games like that?

And what specifically would work for you? What look is attractive?
The most successful one I know of is Koikatu, by Illusion.
Custom maid series is another one, and there was a monster girl openworld which used DAZ3D anime models for monster girls too, I believe.

This It is described as a "2D Cellshaded character creator". In other words, I don't believe they are using Daz3d for their characters. Ditto for .

But at least in theory we could create similar characters using the Toon characters @jerricho13 mentioned and the Visual shaders I referenced.

Can you recall at all the name (or at least more information) about the monster girl Daz3d game you remember? I tried my best to search on f95, but failed. Might not be here for all I know. =(

I'm personally not a fan of the anime look, but I'd at least like to explore different visual ideas. The shaders seem to provide different types of 'cartoon' looks, and they seem worth at least exploring to differentiate a game.

I'm leaning towards trying to do more of a western cartoon look, perhaps using a stenciled look as seen in a preview of the manga style shader. Or perhaps a 'drawn' filter for a render (as seen with the ). I can't personally draw, so these ideas seem to be a nice compromise.

I'm open to other ideas, but I'm wondering if there has been something done like this already within western games. That would give me a baseline.

Oh sorry, I thought you meant hentai games with anime looks, not DAZ3D specifically.
I do not think it matters much though, you can get an anime look by using the right shader anywhere, be it blender, a game engine like Unity or in this case, DAZ3D.

This is the game I meant.
The shader looks quite similar to the first one you have linked.

As far as I can tell, that also isn't Daz. There are apparently interactive elements and VR capabilities.. both are which stretch the capabilities of Daz to say the least.

what
No, the game engine is Unity, that is where the interactive and VR capabilities come from.
The models cannot be made within Unity though, my guess is that they come from DAZ3D (either edited bases or packs used for monster parts as I am sure I have seen somewhere in this forum) but as I have said, it doesn't really matter where they come from, cel shading in porn games is used, whatever you want to use DAZ3D or model a whole thing yourself on blender from scratch doesn't really make too much of a difference.

Hehe...

The title of the thread made me think of 95% of the games here that use Daz.

Helium-filled soccer balls with nipples, coffee table hips that should have turn signals, thick girls with wasp waists and thin faces, etc.

To stay on topic: I believe @stencilbits is using Daz for as well, but I don't know if he's using a shader or post-processing.
You are right in that too many characters have 'porn bodies'. I'd like to run away from that. ;-)

That game does have pretty distinctive artwork. I'm checking it out now. It does looks like Daz with shaders, but the it is done in Blender with some Daz content. Close enough.

What do you think of that look? I find it interesting, but I'm not sure how people take it. of the game says "Good renders with a unique style that stands out among the other games here" Second one -- "Artstyle is goddamn amazing" -- that is what I'm looking for. Something distinctive -- hopefully in a good way!

But there are also negative reviews: "Didn't like the look of it", "Art looks weird.. The only thing which might not be likeable are art, which is different than most and anatomic pieces of body which look unnatural. Like this meat piece on back side of characters looks like a breast but on back"

My impression is that people seem to have a preference for realistic renders. Running away from that is a nice way to make things distinctive, but can prompt polarized impressions. So I'm rather paranoid about going this route.
